I've had this problem since since the beginning; both on OxygenOS 2.1.1, and 2.1.2 – sometimes, when I click the power button to turn the screen off, and put the phone on a desk, or into my pocket, after a few seconds the phone wakes up by itself suddenly, and most often shows the list of recent apps.
It's only a minor annoyance when it happens after putting the phone on a desk, but it can be a bit more serious when this happens in a pocket. For example, a couple of days ago, I was riding a bike, when suddenly, the phone started skipping through music, and doing who knows what else. (I know it tapped around a bunch in a number of different apps that one time.) Certainly a lot of potential for butt-dials.
At first I thought it was an issue with the DT2W implementation being overly sensitive, so I disabled it, but the problem persisted. Anyone else experiencing this, and perhaps any solutions?

This happens often, but not every time.
I press the power button to put the phone into standby.
I press it again to take it out, the screen turns on, I try to press the unlock jog or any of the buttons along the bottom - nothing.
I noticed sometimes if I'm quick, it begins to animate the jog, or I get a vibration from a button along the bottom, but then it goes unresponsive.
Putting it back in/out of standby fixes it most every time.
Any ideas?
I have this same problem. Usually worse the longer it was in standby. Helps somewhat to reset the phone once a day, and also use a task killer program to kill apps you arent using.
I ended up taking the phone back to the store and they replaced it with a brand new one. The new one works flawlessly. Also, my wifes had been working since we got them saturday without issue too.

Seems to happen to me sometimes right in the morning when I take it out of the charger... a bit annoying but nothing too serious
I've had a look around the internet and it seems the problem I'm encountering isn't an isolated one.
Inconsistently, when I tap the Home Key on my phone it acts as if it's being held down, the LED home button backlight dims and the recent apps screen comes up. After 5 seconds or so the LED comes back on and it's all ok again. This can happen repeatedly (I had it happen 3/4 times from Gmail then the final time it functioned as it was supposed to.) but it's largely intermittent.
I've seen various solutions online from a factory reset to tightening some screws on the back of the phone to demanding a replacement handset. This is my second NS already and I'd rather not go for a third if possible.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
This happens to me as well, regardless of the ROM I'm on. Locking and unlocking the screen fixes it but it's more of a minor annoyance to me.
Since posting, it hasn't happened at all.
GPS has stopped working though.
Lately, I've noticed that my Note 3 won't wake up from a sleeping screen, but it doesn't happen all the time, and I cannot pinpoint what's causing it. If I remove the S-Pen, sometimes it will wake, but not always. I can tell the system is running, because the S-Pen audible notification sounds are working when I remove the pen, or put it back, etc.
If I long press the power, but not long enough to force shut down, sometimes it will wake, but not always. It's so random, that I cannot figure out the cause. It's fine for days, then it happens 5 times in a row, then it's fine again.
Anyone else seen this?
I'm thinking of a reset, but I'd like to ask for suggestions first, because it's a PITA to set up everything again, even with backups, and I might reintroduce the problem, if I restore the cause.
Hi. I'm having an issue with my Verizon S5 where the screen turns on randomly, sometimes a few times a minute, for no apparent reason. Researching the issue, I found a lot of people said the reason they found was that the charge port was bent slightly and after bending it back it fixed the issue. They noticed the screen would behave when it was plugged in because all the connections were forced into their proper places by the charger. However, mine turns on and off regardless of whether or not it is plugged in. I downloaded Wakelock Detector to try to see if there were any apps forcing my screen to wake up but it only listed a couple apps and processes and, combined, they didn't come anywhere near the number of times my screen was woken up. Interestingly, the same day I noticed this problem, my home button also stopped working. It will not turn on the screen when off and it will not bring me to the home screen when the screen is on. I thought maybe it was occasionally functioning, causing my screen to turn on. However, I have never experienced the opposite issue; I have never been using my phone with the screen on and had it suddenly bring me to the home screen. Also, oddly my screen does not have this issue when I am playing music either through the speaker or via bluetooth. If I have music playing, the screen never turns on randomly. If I pause my music, the issue returns and my screen turns on randomly unless I resume my music.
The fact that it doesn't do it while playing music (either over bluetooth or through the speaker) means it must be a software issue rather than a hardware issue. The fact that my home button stopped working at the same time seems to make it seem like a hardware issue but maybe my home button not functioning and my screen turning on and off randomly are both part of the same software issue? I have attached a screenshot of my current version of Android and other details.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Generally, I'd recommend a factory reset just to make sure whether it is or not a software issue.
If the issue is not solved, return the phone.

I was able to fix the problem so I thought I might as well share. I replaced the circuit board that goes under the home button (cost about 10 bucks lol). This is not the home button and cable itself. If you disassemble the S5 to the point where you can see the motherboard, the circuit board at the bottom with the charge port, capacitive buttons, and home button contact is the one I replaced. Hope this helps others with similar issues get working in the right direction. Be very careful disassembling your S5 if you decide to try this route.
I have a OnePlus 1 (rooted), Exodus ROM 6.0-20160730.
When my Bluetooth disconnects the display comes on but it does not respond to any touches, taps, swipes or anything - it's just on and it never times out. I have no idea what it's doing but sometimes this happens when I am not aware of it and I don't realize it until I feel this burning sensation in my pocket. If I press the power button as if the phone were asleep and I am waking it up THEN it will respond to touches normally.
I'm not sure if this is a BT issue or a ROM issue. Just thought I would throw it out here to see anyone has any ideas. Maybe it's something simple, but it sure isn't obvious (to me).
