So, let me get this straight, I changed my dpi and this messed up the camera and dealer then had to reset then I changed the resolution to UHD yet the camera and dialer are still messed up. Am I right in saying there is nothing I can do to fix the camera and dialer (these are the only apps I checked that are affected, are there any others?) without root?
I'v just realized this myself: u found any fix?
Going back to standard dpi till a solution is found

Hello
I have been having some problems with the main camera on the A500. It has different tints to it. Sometimes the picture seems to be divided in 4 and all 4 squares have a different hue to them. Restoring to factory settings seem to take care of it for a while. Initially I thought it was "skype" that messed it up, but it is not.
I just restarted the tablet and the camera is giving me a yellow tint, with a clear horizontal stripe about 3/4 inch wide through the middle.
The tab has stock 3.2 on it.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced similar problems and if there was a solution to the problem.
Thank you
Well, I would think the problem seems to be some app/apps you have installed. Based on when you do a factory reset, it goes away.
I would just do another factory reset. Then verify it went away. Run it for a couple of days WITHOUT installing any apps. This will probably rule out a hardware issue.
Then install apps, 1 at a time. Use the camera, and look for issues.
Thanx. I will give that a try.
I traced it back to Swift Key X keyboard for tablets. How is that even possible?
Also yahoo messenger is another one that ruins the camera. As soon as I install any of those apps and reboot, the camera is back to normal.
Does anyone out there use either of those apps?

So, everything is ok?
Rule #1,
Stay away from apps meant for phones.
Yes, they "may" have tested it it on "1" tablet, then gave it a clean bill of health. Maybe.

I thought it would be ok. But after restarting a few times, the camera colors are off. I'm going to root and install a custom 3.2 to make sure it is not the hardware.
Spasiba for all your help )
any news about this problems.
it seems that my iconia has the same problem- i never noticed it because i dont use the rear camera.
i sold it it today and the guy who bought has described something like what you folks are talking about
the strange thing is that i had done a clean boot before i sold it, and the buyer hasnt installed anything on it yet.
im waiting to hear back from him after he tries another clean boot.
anyone else have any ideas ?
I'm having the same problem. I don't use it much, but the camera was ok before. When I tried using it this weekend, it showed colored translucent squares on the sides. It is not a config problem, as there are no effects turned on. The front camera works 100%. I will post a sample when I get home.
If I change the "whites" config to Incandescent, it kind of solves the problem. Sometimes, the squares appear, but not for most the time.
I believe this is not a harware issue, unless that whites configuration is made with hardware (highly doubt it). I don't have Swift key, or Yahoo messenger, or any other apps that use the camera (other than Skype, but it was already installed when the camera worked).
Did anybody find a fix to this? It seems it is only a problem on stock 3.2.
Edit: not an exclusive 3.2 stock issue, it appears that custom roms have this problem as well.
I have the same issue after ICS ota upgrade...
Any ideas?
I haven't had the issue since the ICS upgrade. Only tested once or twice, but it is working properly.
What I did to partially fix it was changing the White Balance to "Incandescent".
I'm currently on stock zvc rooted with twrp from autorec. I have been using Jishnu's 4k cam mod for a while now and its worked perfectly fine but all of a sudden my camera lost the ability to focus. It did this a couple days ago and I tried restoring camera from Jishnu's camupdate apk and then reinstalling and also installed xdabbeb's 4k cam and it wasn't working but after 15 mins or so I went back to the camera and it was working again. This time though I tried to do what I did before but it doesnt have any effect on it. I no longer have the stock camera files does anyone have them so I can try that out? A flashable zip would be even better if possible. Other then that does anyone have any idea what I could do besides tot'ing back which I'd rather avoid if possible?
Did you try another camera app to make sure it's not a hardware issue?
If I helped you, please thank me
got a stock non rooted d803 and camera just wont focus as well
takes nice close up pics but anything further than 2 inches and its out (even manual focusing doesnt work)
tried other camera apps and no joy, went as far as factory reset and nothing
LG and phone company tech advised bringing it in for replacement

Sorry for the late reply didn't notice I got two replies but I had tried google camera and another random camera before
and they both wouldn't focus at all. However my camera is working now I went and tot'd to stock 4.4.2 but the camera
wasn't working immediately after doing that it still wasn't working so I was afraid maybe the hardware was broken. But
after installing the 4k camera mod and doing some messing around with the camera and then leaving the phone alone
for a while with the camera app running in the background it works again. Its very weird I don't really understand it what
threw me off as well was after running titanium backup to restore apps/data the camera was still working so I started
setting stuff up. I noticed the xposed installer was not up to date so I went and updated it and then rebooted the phone.
After that I checked the camera and it wasn't focusing again at all. I figured xposed might be the culprit so I went and
uninstalled it then rebooted but it didn't have any effect the cam still wouldn't focus. So I reinstalled and enabled it and
did the installing 4k mod messing with camera and leaving it alone routine and after a while the camera is working
again. Very suspicious I'm at a loss but I went and did a nandroid backup while the camera was working so if anything
I can restore that and hopefully fix it.

Sorry for the late reply but my camera still isn't working properly. Whenever I open a camera app its all blurry and it won't
focus what I have to do everytime I need to take a picture of something is shake the phone around in different angles and
sometimes hit it near the camera region lol. I find that after giving it a good shake/hit it'll start focusing again. I don't know if
that means theres a problem with the OIS interfering in some way since the lens can move around and stuff so maybe shaking
it makes it focus correctly but its annoying.
I would go bring the phone in for repair/replacement if you're covered. I would do it myself but I plan on getting the G3 soon
anyway so don't really need to fix this one. Hope it works out for you though.
When taking pictures with the stock Motorola xamera app, I have a miserable time finding the shot. First I try to swipe to the left so the last image photographed comes onto the screen. THAT works, but then the screen freezes and I can't get out of it until I use the capacitive button to go back to the home screen. Then, when I go into the gallery to see the picture I just took, it is gone-like it was never there. However, occasionally some (not all) of these disappeared pix show up in the gallery hours later. I've tried deleting the app and then re-installing it, but it just doesnt seem to work correctly. Its the only thing about the Turbo which makes me want to throw it onto a nearby set of traintracks. Anyone else have the same issues or know what to do about it?
First off, I assume you mean camera (not xamera. correct me if I'm wrong). Second off, you shouldn't be able to uninstall it. If you installed updates for it via Google play then it might be a hardware problem. I would do a factory reset, and if it still doesn't work get it replaced. I don't know the details of the warranty, but from what I have heard it's quite extensive.
Thanks very much. And yes I meant camera....I guess I am mistaken-I didnt uninstall the entire camera app, just the updates to it. Still happening, but perhaps any bugs in the app might be fixed by the Lollipop update?
Lollipop isn't coming before February, and knowing Verizon I wouldn't bet on 2016 coming second
Hey all.
So I got my MXP about a month ago, as my faithful Nexus 6 has long been deteriorating (#RIPshamu), and I wanted to try something a little different. I love the device and have almost gotten it tweaked and set up just the way I like it. However, I'm currently facing an issue that I can't seem to fix.
When I have a dark gray image on screen, such as the dimming when you pull down the notification bar over a white screen, the left side of my screen flickers rapidly from dark to normal, as if changing brightness. It is most noticeable on higher brightness settings, but plenty present enough on lower ones anyhow. I have made sure that no odd display tweaks in GravityBox are interfering with system presets, and I can't figure out what might be causing this.
I'm hoping it is software-related; I bought the device off-contract and without warranty, as I do with all my handsets, but if the problem is with hardware I should be able to fix it on my own so long as I know what part is causing the issue.
I'm running TruPureXMM with FrankenClark kernel. (systemless SU, magisk/systemless-xposed if any of that matters to you). Can provide logs upon request, but things seem normal to me at first glance.
Anyone else experienced this or have a fix?
I too am running TruPure and Frankenclark. I've been having a similar issue with the display, except it's the bottom half of the screen that is dimmed. I've also noticed that the 'dimming' takes on vertical lines of color depending on what the screen is displaying. The 'dimming' has consistently been transparent for me.
I originally thought that it may have started because I changed some settings using kernel adiutor, however changing those settings back did not fix the issue. I've yet to try returning to stock. I've also noticed the same display issue on boot up and in TWRP, which suggests a hardware problem, not a software one.
Some research online suggests that there is a known display bug with the Moto pure, and that the temporary fix is to reboot, but that doesn't solve the problem for me.
I think I'll try reverting to stock first, and if that is unsuccessful, then I'll try to reseat the display connector.
(non-T-mobile)
I've been experimenting beyond my abilities, it seems. Successfully got Google Daydream to work. Successfully got Google Dialer/Phone to work. Failed at getting Google Camera to work. Now the photos I take with the OnePlus camera app seem to finalize themselves as a perfectly solid green. They also get tagged with EXIF data for a Pixel XL. Force close the moment I try to do video.
I've removed the Google Camera app.
I've gone into the build.prop file and removed the mod for Daydream which lied to say it was a Pixel.
I've restored the build.prop's permissions.
I've cleared OnePlus Camera data.
Rebooted many times.
Installed a generic app store camera. It takes non-green photos, but EXIF still says Pixel XL.
Ideas?
UPDATE... I never figured it out. Ended up going into settings and doing a reset. Even though backup & restore seems to work, it's still a little frustrating. One of the oddest things... in Settings -> About Phone -> Model... it listed "Pixel XL". In the desktop version of Mint, it suggested my paired device was "Marlin" (the codename of the Pixel XL). I hadn't altered anything to be Pixel XL-based. I had put in "sailfish" (the regular sized 1st gen Pixel) into build.prop, but not "marlin". Not sure which thing I poked to cause that mess.
Make sure you back up your things before changing your things!
I just found your thread, trying to fix this issue for myself. Disabled daydream and Google phone magisk modules then rebooted. Problem seems to have been resolved.
I am on the T-Mobile variant, flashed to international.

It's a shame... the Daydream thing seemed to work fairly well, considering the phone's screen resolution. If that's the cause, it's not really worth it for me to loose camera abilities.
