Fingerprint Securit ???
My son broke a four-year protection
youtu . be / YwBzRXP0ld8
After reading this I got dozens of people to try the fingerprint detection and not one got in. You may have a faulty unit. It's recognised as a very good and fast one. I tried all my other fingers. No luck, so it's had hundreds of fingers Tryining to crack it. I'm happy. I used to forget to lock up when I went out. Problem gone

Hey fellas ,
I cracked the screen of my Nexus 4 and installed a replacement.
It's been approximately a month now.
Sometimes when i restart the device the touchscreen doesn't work and i have to restart it again and again until it starts to work. I noticed that when i put one of my fingers anywhere on the touchscreen (around the display not the bezels) , it starts to work and recognizes only one finger whereas i have two on the display , when i remove one the touchscreen doesn't work again. So , i have to restart sometimes just once sometimes a lot of times to get it to work.
I have intricate knowledge of the touchscreens and how they work but i can't put my finger on this problem. It looks like a capacitance issue because when i put two fingers it recognizes one , sometimes it needs 3-4 fingers on the screen to recognize only one.
My original one still works but has a bad lcd (colors are all messed up) because my clumsy attempt to repair it resulted in failure , i tried it and the original one works without a hitch. The only thing i haven't tried is to remove the battery. I installed everything when the battery was still on , the screws are too flat for any of my screwdrivers. But i hotplugged the original one and it worked. So , that's probably not the problem. I just shut it down with 3 of my fingers on the screen. Waited for it cool down and then reopened it , it worked. Whether this is a thermal issue or not , it needs further testing on my part. I'm currently not willing to find out because i just had to restart 5-6 times to get it to work and i need it to work constantly for the next couple of days.
I can't return this because i already got a full refund and the seller didn'T ask for a return , he said to keep it. He advertised it as genuine but it was aftermarket. So , this assembly was free folks. I broke it and got away with it. We gotta get this working without any problems so i can sell it when nexus 6 comes out.
disconnect touch, power on phone without touch, disconnect battery. After that connect touch and power on your phone:good::good::good:
same problem here...
And I see the problem at a lot of other forums too... no sollution... have you found a workaround?
I'm too late to ask for a refund...
My fingerprint scanner has stopped working, after I upgraded to Android 7 (Nougat).
I took it into my Samsung store who said it was a hardware issue, it failed the self diagnostic test.
However they refused to fix the issue under warranty because the screen is cracked.
The screen has been cracked for over 5 months now, so I hardly see how they are related.
Can anyone way in on this?

Well if the screen is cracked, and your phone is still under warranty, then surely they should be fixing that too ? Samsung sound pretty useless to me, and use every excuse under the sun for not fixing things, try boot to recovery and factory reset, this can sometimes fix faults after an update.
EDIT: after updating mine to androind N, the fingerprint reader is working fine, infact so far ive got no problems here at all.
Yep a long as it is a UK model and under one year old Samsung should change the screen and fix the touch sensitive button. As long as you don't have a great big dent in the case that caused the cracked screen...... I just ordered new back cover for mine as it's a dual SIM and Samsung won't repair it under warranty. They quoted £65 to change the back cover and I purchased it on eBay for £20.
I will heat up the back cover and change it myself tomorrow.

Try to go back to MM.
Download latest MM version from sammobile.com and flash it with Odin
Then you will know if it's SW- or HW problem

s7 edge fingerprint sensor error
Wanted help regarding my s7 edge fingerprint sensor. It responds just fine sometimes but most of the time it gives an error. I tried the solution of clearing cache , pressing power and volume down button together to soft reset it. But nothing worked. The funny part is that it will respond for a few while after rebooting ( restarting ) it but when it gibes the error it stops completely until restarted again. Did not drop it. Didn't place it in water. The problem did start after updating from marshmallow to nuogat and even after getting two security patch updates. Don't know what to do. Can anyone plz guide me how to use *#0*# code to check fingerprint sensor because when i check it it sometimes give that intializing failed. Sometimes if i don't put my finger on the sensor it says it passed and when i place my finger it only shows first box passed while the rest of the boxes fail. I searched everywhere on internet for but in the end came back to xda and decided to ask u guys. As i did got alot of help from u guys on my s2 and note 4. I hope that someone might try to help.
I don't know the answer, but I can confirm a similar issue with my S7 since upgrading to nougat. Also I seen to get a few apps force closing. My device is stock and not rooted. I got so fed up with the finger scanner not responding I switched back to only a pin code for a week. Now I switched back to finger print and only set up one finger print memory........now for a week it send to be working, but still getting force closes of the play store app.

Try to reinstall the rom stock. If the problem persists, then it is a hardware problem. Your sensor went to the bag.
Hey guys. Got my G6 yesterday and I'm having trouble with the fingerprint sensor. I scanned it in and it worked for about 30-40 mins, then when I tried unlock the phone it wouldn't recognise it and just did the double vibrate. I've reset the fingerprint and scanned it in multiple times, all with the same result, I've cleared the cache and I honestly don't what's wrong.
Sometimes when scanning it pops up saying the sensor needs to be cleaned, but even when I wipe it down the message stays around. At first I thought it was because I was using a case on the phone, but that can't be it, since it's a spigen case.

It's totally normal. I'm experiencing the same with my G6 6 month old. Sometimes the finger print sensor doesn't work: no vibrate and it's like it's dead. So you have to wait a little or restart the phone.
It lacks also in updates and has, for me, several other issues so I'll never buy an LG again.

I don't think it's normal, because I watched a ton of reviews and videos about the phone before purchasing it, and all of them said the fingerprint sensor works quickly and perfectly. I've seen posts where people have used it with pizza dough and water on their hands. Everyone would have included it in their reviews if the sensor was this bad.

But mine, and also others, have the same issue with fingerprint sensor so, for me, it's a BIG BUG that any cheap chinese device I used before don't have.
I recently purchase a LeEco Le Max 2 from aliexpress and it worked fine for the first 2 hours but after i locked it and left it on a table for a few hours and came back the fingerprint scanner wouldn't work.
After this happened to me i started to search the internet for all the possible solutions i could find like installing the original ROM and such but before i did any of the solutions it suddenly started to work again.
It started to work for like 2 seconds and then stopped again how it happened was that i had left it on my bed with the screen on and it was starting to get really hot (the room was also hot) and i started to get angry with the device and started taping the fingerprint scanner hard in the hopes of getting it to work and it started to work for like 2 secs and then stopped and since then i haven't been able to get it to work again and yes i have tried factory resetting and re calibration the scanner also i have tried installing multiple official and unofficial ROMs .
So anyway the reason for my post is to ask for possible solutions on how to fix it and also to ask what was the issue? is it the contacts or is it a defective part.
The FP problem in this phone is well documented. As are the many seemingly magical solutions folks have found for it. Search XDA and try what solutions you can find, and if those don't work, it may be the part. If it's the part, the good news is that a new FP scanner is exceedingly cheap ($6 CAD), as are most of the tools one would need to do the repair, if they do not already have them.
I posted a guide in this section here for doing the hardware replacement. No guarantees - nobody seems to know definitively what the cause of this issue is or how to fix it, but the only thing that's obvious is it's a fairly rampant problem.
it is a software issue no remplacement needed , i have post a solution 100% working

Everyone who has found a "fix" to this problem has claimed that, and it's usually not even a week before someone comes by and proves they were wrong. Certainly worth trying the solution regardless, but you shouldn't make promises that aren't validated.
Heyyo, too true @TheLastCanadian (happy Canada day btw eh?) that some may get lucky with a software fix but most require a hardware replacement to resolve the problem 100%. Your guide btw is very well detailed and as long as anyone follows it to the tee? They should be safe too.
I'm unsure how old your LeEco Le Max 2 is, but it might be cheaper to just replace the FP scanner yourself than to send it back to China for a replacement as they would probably request you to pay to ship both ways...
Thanks!
I think this is a quite late reply but first i would like to thank @TheLastCanadian for his/her comment. I already knew the thing about replacing the fp scanner which you can get on aliexpress for just under 6€
but the issue i have is that i don't have the tools to do it but even if i had them and even though it seems really easy to do as shown in multiple guides i have really shaky hands and wouldn't trust myself to do it in the
fear that i would just snap the phone in half.
Also another question recently my bottom buttons stopped working on my phone and even after factory resetting they still wouldn't work (read online that it might be a software problem)
after that i thought that maybe it was the heat wave hitting my country that caused the buttons to break/stop working but still i wanted try one more time so i cooled the phone in front of
a fan for a half hour and then tried installing the original OS (the OS that i was using was the PixelExperience for LEECO MAX 2) and then it suddenly started working. So the point of this was
to ask was it a problem with that OS or was it the heat by the way even when the buttons didn't work their light was still on.
Heyyo, for the hardware buttons? It is usually a software issue yes unless the phone was dropped and screen is cracked on the bottom half of the screen (I had that happen and the replacement screen came with new hardware buttons and they worked perfectly).
For FP reader? I guess if you're uncomfortable with doing it you could ask a local mobile phone repair shop to fix it... But they might charge you quite a bit so I'd ask for a quote and link TheLastCanadian's guide so they have an idea on what they need to do.
It's honestly not too bad repairing a Le Max 2. For me, heating up the phone enough and separating the screen was the toughest part as that adhesive tape they use is REALLY adhesive and the phone was quite hot to the touch to finally get it to separate with my suction cup.
In the guide that TheLastCanadian posted he linked a very cost effective kit that is even more fancier than the random parts I had heh so I'd recommend his linked toolkit if you want to give it a go.
Hey i know it been quite while but wanted to leave an update about the fingerprint scanner issue so here it is.
I usually wipe and reflash my phone with a cfw every few months but decided to do it now even though i already did it a few weeks ago because i downloaded and ran some infected ****.
Well guess happened?? IT WORKS NOW!! the fingerprint scanner suddenly started to work again as i was setting it up. I don't think it the cfw because i'w installed it multiple times before
and the fingerprint scanner never worked but now it does, maybe its because of its hot in my room? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think its really likely to do with heat or something because the last time i got it to work for a few sec was when i first got it was after i had played some games and watched some vids in my room
which got it burning hot. Will update if it stops working again
The cfw that got it to work was the newest version of PixelExperience for LEECO MAX 2

Hey guys - Happy to be part of the Davinci family here.
I attempted (and SUCCEEDED) changing the screen of my 9T. However, while reinstalling the fingerprint reader camera, I noticed some very small specs of dust on the screen. I thought it'd be a hassle getting those out and carried on.
Turns out, the figerprint reader is now failing at every attempt i make at unlocking my device, even though i've deleted all enrolled fingerprints and enrolled them anew.
So, the question is... do you have any suggestion on how to clean that piece of screen? which is kind of sticky, btw.
I'll attach a reference pic to show you where the specs of dust are.
I'd apprecieate any help, suggestion, or mockery if you feel like it.
Thanks!
Edit:
Having a bit of a trouble attaching images here. So I've uploaded them elsewhere:
once u trapped in dust u will never come out my frnd i am struggling with back camera glass replaced twice and cleaned more than 4 times but same result dust is there
