I have android 5.1.1 on a Samsung S6 Edge+
I am using GEL launcher 1.3 and Google App 5.7.11.19.arm64
I am searching using the search box on the GEL homescreen
If I type a digit in the search box the whole content is deleted
For example if I type
"Abcd xyz "
all is OK but as soon as I add a digit
"Abcd xyz 4"
the search box is cleared

NOTE: I can't post this in the correct forum because I don't have enough posts yet.
EDIT: This was supposed to be in the "Samsung Galaxy S III I9300" forums not the "Galaxy Note II" :S
The S3 has a custom launcher which allows you to double tap the home button and launch an app.
Currently there are 5 apps that appear for me to choose from when I do this on the phone I am testing: Assistant, Robin, S Voice, Vlingo, Vlingo InCar.
Does anyone know how I can list my app with these "personal assistants"? I can't figure out the intent I should be listening to.
Thanks!
Just got my nexus 7 and have been playing around with it and I have a question about google now. When I first started using it, if I did the swipe up from the home button action it would bring up the google now voice prompt. Now when I do the swipe up it just takes me to the google now cards, where I can say "Google" and get the voice prompt to start.
My question, what happened? Did I change a setting somewhere I forgot about or did the default swipe up action change when it upgraded to 4.2.1?
Google now goes right to search until you add a Google Account.
When you agree to use Google Now with a Google Account you get the card interface.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
With Google Now on I get the cards too. With Google Now off I get the basic google search bar with microphone and the keyboard is open. I put the Voice Search icon in the dock (Nova launcher) and just hit that to go straight into voice search. I honestly can't remember if it worked differently before.
[Q] Always the same LOCATION "Recent requests for location: Google Search"

It appears in the notification bar "search with GPS " and second stays and goes, if I strike up will
Location " Location Request Recent" puts " Google Search "
and clicking on it brings me to the google search process ...... google search arm
why this happens , where off? I combed all the options , I 've disabled even that .arm
and no way . it ends up appearing when he wants
Help PLEASE .
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for Galaxy S5.

Is there a recommended app to use to for moto G play to disable certain apps? For instance, I use package disabler pro for my samsung s7.
I need to disable the google app from the long press home button for my 12 year old. We run norton family on chrome, but for whatever reason, the google now apps have always been exempt from norton filters. The phone did an update this morning and now I can't find any way to disable that feature or lock it with applock.

One more question I hope you'll know... As I was closing apps from the square "recent apps" button, the google search bar now appears at the top (and is accessible). Any ideas how to get rid of it? We are using Nova Launcher instead of google's native launcher, which helped get rid of the original google search bar on the home screen.

Nevermind, I figured it out after googling for a while. I had to restart the phone after your steps and then it no longer appeared in the recent apps screen.

as google is so much integrated sometimes it needs reboot for the effect....
I have a Samsung S10+ but this is more of a general Android question. I was wondering if there was a way that you could have infinite choice on what app you wanted to be the "default navigation app".
So basically you could trick the operating system into seeing a non Navigation App as a possible option for the Default Navigation App?
Dont know if this works. This for waze but i expect it is same for any app.
Android version 6.0+
Open Android device Settings.
Enter the Apps menu (sometimes called Application Manager).
Swipe over to the All apps list.
Scroll down and tap on Waze.
Tap Open by default.
Tap Clear defaults if any exist, then tap Open supported links and choose the relevant option: Open in this app. Ask every time.

That does not work in this situation. As certain apps dont have the ability to open location and/or direction links
