Hi friends
Is there any way to make moto x play boot faster. Right now it takes around 1.5 minutes to boot.

I hope, it does take its sweet time to boot up...
Yes, install Phoenix Kernel, it use multi-core boot to speed up boot process

I was adding a new custom ROM to my Droid 2 because I wasn't happy with the Epic ROM so I went with the VZW 2.4.5 Clean ROM, I wanted to add the kangerade blue theme to it but accidently installed the wrong version of it over my ROM and now my phone is in a constant boot loop. sometimes it stays at the droid eye for a while and then load into the lock screen but will go right back into the boot sequence.
When it does boot into the lock screen there is not enough time for me to get into the bootstrapper app to boot into recovery mode.
are there any other ways to get into recovery mode? I've searched high and low on this forum and others as well.
I want my droid back =[
Have you tried to pull the battery and then put it back in. Everytime I do that, I end up at recovery thing.
yup, i've pull the battery many times. i've got it into the android recovery screen but when I to the data/cache format it just brings me to the green android starting screen and goes back into the boot loop, what's weird is that the theme is still applied to the phone

Hmmm. Kind of a roundabout process, but did you make a backup. I'd just restore it to a backup and then go from there.
i can't get into the clockwork recovery, just the stock android recovery. are there any backdoors that i could use with adb?
Try taking the battery out during the boot animation a few times, if that doesn't get you to clockwork recovery you've probably lost your recovery. I've noticed that I sometimes (or always?) Lose clockwork when installing a Rom. If that is the case you may have to sbf unless you can get adb to work from the lockscreen.

how would I go about doing an sbf? could you point me in the right direction?
On this forum three posts down is a guide. Follow the guide exactly, except you will have to put your phone in bootloader mode since it will not turn on and stay on. Do do this, hold the up button on the dpad when you turn it on.
It works, i just did it yesterday. First time ive ever had to flash SBF, and i did ALOT of roms and modding on my D1. The bootstrap is nice but not as nice as a full bootloader.

cool. i think i found the guide. it says backup my sd card to my computer..this doesn't delete everything on the sd card does it?
(not a huge concern since having a working phone is better than losing all my stuff on my memory card)
okay. I tried doing what the tutorial said and I got an error on my bootloader that says
"Critical Error: DEA1"
EDIT:
Well it looks like it was just a simple "I need to update my rsd lite program"
I was using the 4.5 and I read that 4.9 was out so I gave updating RSDLITE a shot and boom, the phone is reflashing as we speak
My sd card is intact... untouched from what I can tell. I had no apps2sd though (with 8 gigs on board why would I?)

Where is the RSD Lite 4.9? All I come across is 4.7.

This is RSD Lite 4.9.
I am looking to start over from scratch. I have CM7 running off emmc with 7.1 but I just want to redo this from the beginning. The reason I want to do this is because the boot time on my Nook is like 2 mins 30 secs where my dads rooted nook color is on in like 30 seconds. So what is the best way to start this process over? Reboot to recovery and just wipe everything or should I write the clockwork image to the sd card and really start from the beginning. Will it make a difference? Thanks in advanced.
What version of CM7 are you using now? RC, nightly? Do you have ROM Manager? I am running one of the latest nightlies. While it doesn't boot in 30 seconds, it is no where near 2 1/2 minutes. If it were mine, I would download ROM Manager if you do not already have it. (Make sure you have a non bootable SD card installed as you generally need it anyway and will with ROM Manager.) First check that you have the latest version of Clockwork Recovery installed. ROM Manager will tell you if you do not and you can install it from there. Then pick a nightly in ROM Manager. 132 would be a good start as it has an OC kernel in it. Choose that along with the market (box to check), then install. Only check off the box to wipe Davlik cache. It will take a bit to download and install and much longer to reboot the first time. See if this helps before going through the trouble of a complete wipe. CM7 will take longer in general as it has much more to it than a rooted stock ROM. Also, if you do not yet have it, download and install Titanium Backup before you do any of this and back up your apps to your SD card.
I'm running the latest RC. I do have rom manager with the latest CW installed. I have titanium pro which backs up to my drop box account. So I guess I can do what you suggest. It just seems so painfully slow on start up, especially with SOD it gets annoying waiting so long to use my nook.
There were issues with nightly 132-134. I would suggest 140 as a good starting point as it fixed several wifi and SOD issues. Also the first few nights after combining with dals OC had some issues with slow graphics. All good now. Just saying.....

I just timed a reboot, I'm running n142 (today's).
After 30 seconds, the shutdown and u-boot are done and the boot animation starts.
About 40 sec after that, the animation brightens and stutters a little bit (this means something, but I don't know what).
Ten seconds after that, I get the home screen.
Overall, less that a minute and a half. Note that booting after a ROM flash will take longer because it has to recompile the system jars.
I have installed about 140+ apps in my xoom, n i found that now it need 2mins to boot up. I m in android 3.2 stock. Is that too slow? How can i make it faster?
How is u guys' boot time btw?
I recently switched to my wife's Atrix. It was never rooted or unlocked, and was upgraded to 141. As with all android devices I touch, I just had to root/ unlock it and flash something.
I used 'automatic unlock 4.2' and everything seemed to go fine. Phone booted normally and I ensured I had root. I then decided to flash ICS. ICS will not boot (stuck at 'M' logo). Tried to restore my backup and it gets stuck at the 'rethink possible' screen. Also tried the obvious fixes such as clearing cache and formatting data.
Any suggestions?
Did you flash pudding and unlock the bootloadrr?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Well, it is unlocked. There is a 'pudding.sbf' in the script as well. I am just getting started with the atrix. I come from the samsung and htc world. Last moto phone I had was the cliq.
Is there a zip that I can pull system images from and just fastboot flash myself? Is that the proper procedure to recover from this kind of situation on this phone?
Oh, and it may be nothing.... when I try to flash ics in cwm, it seems to be done way too quick? No errors or anything... so it could just be I'm comparing apples to oranges (previous phones).
Flashing a new ROM only takes about 10 seconds through CWM. You shouldn't get any errors. After flashing any ICS based ROM you should see a random offset last.
Doesn't matter anymore.... looks like I bricked it.
Failed to boot 1.... and noe can't get into fast boot
Trying a second RSd lite flash but I'm not hopeful
I wasn't getting offset message btw for ics roms (can't believe I didn't notice that)

Finished 2nd rsd lite flash... no dice.... then pudding.... boots
Going to take a break and play with it later to see what I can see
If I do decide to unlock my boot loader, could we dual boot roms?
Sent from my Transformer using Tapatalk 2
Not as of now though it *may* come though I doubt it seeing how not many other tablets have dual boot features either. One way to simulate it is to just set up a ROM then back it up in recovery and then wipe and set up a new ROM and then backing that one as well. Then restore the one you feel like using. Sure it takes ages for backups to restore but it works for now.
