I know there were ways to do it on the OPO but i couldn't find any info here. Has anyone successfully got rid of that tamper bit status (which is showing true right now)
Please see my thread i just created today, you will be more than happy about it

Hello community
I am a great fan of this community and i have recently bought a HTC Wizard and now, more than ever, i follow all the news on this site.
But, regardless of this, being a new owner has its handicaps, meaning i am missing a lot of the basic information on operating (modifing, customising, etc.) my device.
I have been using a HP4700 but i have recently bought an Orange M3000.
i hope that by this post, me and all the newcomers would find valuable information and answers and also the basic knowledge to be able to understand and contibute in more advanced threads.
Thank You
I would like to know what would be the first steps to follow when buying a new device to get the most out of it.
I mention that the my device is operator locked, and, i do not necessarily want to unlock it, but i want to decustomize it and to be able to flash it with the newest roms and use all enhancing tweaks
all information is appreciated, thank you
You either need to do some readings around here, or you can search for specific question. Would be difficult for others to spoon-feed you
To decustomized it, the basic (easiest way) is to skip the customization installation after hardreset. That is to soft reset the device just after the security screen. You have 3 seconds to soft reset your device after the security screen.
I am very interested to read every single post regarding my device. But, i have noticed that information is scaterred around and hard in getting the wide picture for starters.
I also intend to contribute to this post in order to provide the newcomers with needtoknow information so they can one day prove useful to this community, being "spoon-fed" early may develop solution-providers later.
Thank you for your interest.

Somebody started similar thread here:

I'm new to the whole customization here. I know how to install a few things, but not quite sure what all i need. I have the 8525 and I want to change my theme. I want some of the features that this phone has:
phone at top
how do i get the weather to look like that- and at the top of the screen
is that a seprate program, or what.
also the icons under that. thanks for any help
the weather thing is called htc home, you can find it all over this forum. in fact, someone just has another thread on this in this very forum with a download link in there.
and the icons at the bottom......the name is in the thread title of that link
Sorry guys, just figured it out, and thought it would have been more complicated. Turns out I wasn't asking much
Mate, word of advice, before you start flashing OS's PLEASE READ A BIT AND HARD SPL YOUR PHONE.......(makes it easier to recover if/when something goes wrong) I think most people have had experiance with a brick at one time or another...
We dont mind helping out with stuff ( it can be fun to help and gives a nice fuzzy feeling when things go right) but if you research a bit first you will generally find your question has been answered MULTIPLE times over. If you still have problems ask away... Answers will be more forthcoming when people see some research has been done...
Anyways, Welcome and happy flashing...
Please someone tell me I'm not being incredibly dense and that I actually have a valid problem that hasn't been addressed elsewhere on the forums. I assure you I have searched for a solution to this but can find nothing pertaining to the desire... I did find other posts but they have all been for the Droids (like pulldown editor)
As a new user I can't post links but to see the screenshots of what I'm about to talk about but please see the attachments at the bottom for an idea.
I really don't want my phone to say Virgin all over it...I just want a generic 'I'm Awesome' message or alternatively nothing. 'Virgin' takes up lots of room on the notification bar that would be better spent notifying me of things...!?
I tried to resolve the problem using MetaMorph...which required root access...and despite Paul (thanks coming shortly) saying we wouldn't be able to write to the /system folder, I just hoped (blindly (and foolishly)) that it would work. But it didn't.
Now I have a rooted HTC Desire that works in every respect but I still can't get rid of those Carrier titles...and thats the only thing I want to do. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions...is it blatantly obvious?
I've pulled my /system folder over but I don't even know what I'm looking at... If anyone can give me a heads up, that'd be great.
Cheers
M
I must note here a massive thanks to Paul who's root instructions were amazingly easy to follow. I know this is the wrong place for it but a massive thanks to him.
I'm new to Android, but after some very brief research it appears that there are websites that will do it by submitting your IMEI to official servers to get an official unlock but no one has come up with a solution?
A friend has just got a Wildfire and I'm surprised it can't be unlocked - if anyone is working on it and wants some help, let me know. What's the problem? I'm not used to not being able to unlock!
I know very little.
But I do know some very clever people - who are probably not interested.
If I'm wrong, please point me in the direction of the solution.
If I'm right, and I can help. Please get in touch.
I know a bit about WinMo and Apple iOS - maybe it's time I started learning about Android....
gents and lady ,
main page , http://www.xda-developers.com/android/qualcomm-security-exploit-djrbliss/
he doesnt have to release it , he copied someone elses's work i read it , I dont know enough to figure it out however I read the pages where he got the intial idea and remember its something like pass a command to the trust zone , which enables the ability to change the value of the key we need to modify , then pass a 2nd command to the trusted zone which then unlocks the ability to unlock the bootloader. I actually came accross this idea here in this very same forum. there seems to be a huge hole which could enable us to unlock the AT&T bootloader so that I can finally get rid of this rubbish at&t is forcing me to use.
If there is work in this direction please update. As im literally about to junk this fuc*%&U( POS for another phone
if i can find the links i will edit and add them in so the though and idea can be read by others but im sure someone else out there has already read and though this too ,
