I recently took the plunge and rooted and installed CM 12.1. Some things are not working such as voice search and netflix. How do I return to stock rooted?
Just flash a stock image from the Google factory image page. Then root. I had to use stock 5.1.1 until they fix the black level problem in marshmallow. Can't take the grayish blacks in 6.0.

Have they still not fixed the black level or voice in Marshmallow? Oh dear, I'll stay on 5.1.1 then.
While i'm here talking about fixes. Has anyone figured out a way to disable the fixed volume in the stock roms so that you can change the volume of the nexus player when you chromecast or use a remote with volume control? Like a Nvidia Shield for example.
for me netflix is working on cm 12.1. just installed it from leanback playstore.
the problem with controlling volume is pretty annoying. even with cm where volume is not fixed I can only change it in kodi. so when watching netflix or tv over nexus player there is no option to change volume. So i have to use a second remote just for change volume or open kodi and change the volume.

I have a Nexus 7 3G and Xperia S (both are running Android AOSP 4.2.2). For the Xperia S, if I hold press volume up / down, it changes the song playing to either next / previous, this will also happen with double clicking on the microphone button on my handsfree. However, with the Nexus 7 this is not possible and the only way to change the song is to either access the lockscreen or the player itself. Is there any way possible I can add this on the Nexus 7? I find it a very useful feature. The Nexus 7 is running complete stocked (Rooted, Unlocked, with Superuser installed) while the player I am using is ZPlayer.
Can anyone guide me in the right direction? Would very much appreciate it  .

would also like this feature:good:
Can anyone else share any inputs? It seems such a simple feature to request really :crying: . I've searched endlessly for a solution, even a flashable zip to no avail.

Hi all...I am having somewhat of a very weird and unique problem. When I was running on 4.2.2 (rooted with unlocked bootloader and CWM recovery), headphone volume worked perfectly fine. When I tried maxing out the volume I received the "unsafe level" warning - after pressing ok it would allow me to turn up the volume all the way to 100%
After the 4.3 update (flashed zip using CWM recovery), I no longer receive the "unsafe volume" warning and the volume doesn't go past 50%. I use my tablet as a carputer so 50% volume is way too low for AUX input. I tried exploring system settings but couldn't find anything. Tried all sorts of apps but no luck.
Any ideas?
Mine does this sometimes, I just go to YouTube to trigger the volume warning and then go back to what I was doing. I bet your using a 3rd party video player?

Hmm...I am using the stock music app. I tried triggering the volume warning through Youtube but no luck...any tips on how to do it properly? Keep in mind I don't have access to the physical buttons as I am using my N7 as a carputer...
Sorry, I'm not sure. I have both 2012(rooted+custom) and 2013(stock) models and it occurred on both, the YouTube thing worked on both devices for me. It only happened once on the 2013 but has happened 3 or 4 times( maybe after a reboot) on the 2012. Good luck.

Guys - ever since switching to my S4 I can get this to work.
I use PowerAmp and am on stock, rooted.
Id like to be able to skip songs (while driving) without having to see the screen.
I used to be able to do this on my Skyrocket and Custom Rom with the Volume Up/Down buttons or by shaking.
I havent managed to get either to work on my new setup. Any advice on whether/how I can achieve this?
Thanks.

I think you have to double tap the play/pause button. That is how you do it with most of the players including the stock one and Rocket Player

Search for Xposed framework and install that, then install the Wanam Xposed module from the Play Store. The option is in the sound category

Wondering if anyone else is having the same issue since Android 5.1 update? while streaming Showbox at the medium setting I have a grey transparent bar across the bottom. It only appears playing movies at medium streaming level, if you use Showbox you will understand what I mean. When streaming at low or high, or even tv shows I dont have the problem.
Even when I cast from my tablet to the nexus player the grey bar appears, again only with movies.
My roommate has a regular chromecast and they dont have this issue. Im trying to narrow it down to either the nexus player or some setting in my tv.
I sideloaded showbox to my nexus player via chrome browser.
I have factory reset nexus player, uninstalled and reinstalled showbox.
Im using a logitech wireless mouse to navigate showbox as well as chrome.
My tv is Samsung 32in smart.
Any ideas or help will be greatly appreciated.
Hi there,
I had the exactly the same issue.
Watched a film in high on showbox last week and it played fine.
I've since updated to 5.1 and when I played a film in high the other night it had serious buffering issues although the image was great.
Tried watching it in medium and it had the same grey bar across the bottom, I just put it down to a poor source.
I prefer to use HomeCinemaMobi, but since 5.1, the genre and search options have disappeared.
I've installed Lollirock at the weekend, but I think I preferred 5.0
I'm wondering if I can re install it?
One if the better features on marshmallow was to allow the connection of Bluetooth head phones for audio, within regular apps this works flawlessly such as youtube, crunchyroll and the lean back launcher. Within Kodi there is always a silence gap of anywhere from a few seconds to 20 seconds at the beginning of anything been played, even if it does start to work as soon as you skip or pause the silence is back. I can see there were people complaining about this issue months ago and then nothing so I'm wondering if I've screwed something or people just don't use bluetooth headphones.
Currently I'm using the latest stock marshmallow and the official Kodi v16 (though I've tried them all with the same outcome). Also it happens with any file format.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I have the same problem. I think it has something to do with the quality of the streams in kodi or the cache size. However, I have no idea how to resolve it. What I do is I start the movie with earphones turned off and once it is playing then I turn on the earphones and it works. If I pause I lose the audio again.
