I'm on a 3 GB plan on ATT. On my Nexus 1 and 4 I was able to tether with no problem. I then switched to a Galaxy S6 with a new sim card where I could not tether. I then moved that sim card to the 6p and still can't tether. If I got a new sim card from ATT would I be able to tether my phone or is this something they've locked out entirely? Thanks!
Well let me start of by asking, do you have a tethering plan?

Hey guys,
Still trying to determine which brand of tab i should get. I have a work air-card with an AT&T sim in it. Will this work with the AT&T version of the tab? The sim is supposed to be used in the aii-card so as long as it does not report back to AT&T that it is in a device which it was note designed to be in I'll be fine. The air-card plan does cost more than the normal plan, so i don't think they will complain about this, but just thought i would check.
As far as i could tell no it wont work with the aircard sim with the data feature being a bit dofferent from the one you need that att is selling right now which is the smart phone plans for the galaxy tab

i believe that the tab uses the micro sim. Not %100 sure.
The At&t tab uses a normal sized SIM card so it'll fit. Your aircard plan will work, but if you flash it to make phone calls then you will get charged extra since broadband connect plans do not come with voice allocation.
My factory unlocked Nexus 4 was able to tether as soon as I put my tmobile $30 plan sim card in with no problems.
If I purchase a LG G2 outright from tmobile, and stick in that same sim card, will i get the same experience or is there a pop-up asking me to pay extra before I can use tethering function?
Thanks
Hey All. I currently have a Galaxy Nexus with a ATT Straight Talk SIM. I am buying a T-Moble Galaxy S4 today for $320. I want to use it as my main phone, but I know I will have to unlock it and cut the SIM card. After I unlock it will I be able to get 4G speeds? Or will the band difference screw me? What if I was to get the new LTE straight Talk SIM Card?
Just out of curiosity before I go out and sell this phone on craigslist and try and find a tmobile note 3. Is there anyway I can get wifi tethering going on this device even though I am using a Tmobile sim? Any help would be great. Thanks
I know AT&T Galaxy S5 cannot activate hotspot without AT&T SIM.
What about verizon phones? I have canadian Koodo SIM in my old smartphone, but it large and I need to cut it before use in note 3, so I cant put it back.
will I be able to use hotspot?
I am using a MetroPCS SIM, which runs on T-Mobile, in my Verizon Note 3 at the moment. And I can use the built-in mobile hot spot feature of my phone. Also, I am running JasmineROM 6.1, if that helps.
