Recently I've noticed my phone dropping percentages within minutes, I've been on my phone for about 30 min just moderately surfing the web and it has dropped almost 30 percent. I tried juice defender, although it seemed it
worked somewhat it was really messing with my data connection. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

As of right now I'm just rooted with the update.zip, I did lag fix but unlag fixed shortly after. Didn't have this problem when I was stock battery actually listed a good amount time.
There are bugs with the displayed battery % not being accurate. Especially if you power down the phone while it's charging.
My Vibrant just eats battery by the minute... I am honestly not sure what is going on. IT's 2.30pm and I barely used the phone and it's down to 53% now from 9am.
What can I do to fix this? I have rooted and installed lag fix from this link
I had the same issue before applying ryanza one click lash fix. My battery now lasts aboutlag 2 days. Which lag fix did you apply ?

I know this doesn't help... but my phone is stock and with normal battery management practices I'm not having any real problems... However, I'm really used to my blackberry which could be left on forever without using any battery at all.

Yea compared to my last two smartphones, the vibrant battery life is no worse. It's definitely better than the n900. But no smart phone's battery life has compared to my blackberry's I used to use.

Fix permissions via recovery! Drain your battery till power down and recharge it fully while off if possible.

I had this issue. Turns out my battery had swollen due to over heating. Excessive use while on the charger. In the end, it would take 7 hours to charge 80%. Hence why it was on the charger.
Doesn't sound like you have the same issue. But of you start experiencing charging issue coupled with rapid draining get the barry replaced. No issues anymore.

i been having the same problem since i have rooted my device i dont know what else to do.... i am getting a new battery next week lets see how that works out. but i don't think its the battery
So I just bought the Nexus 10 a day ago and I'm worried about a few things. The device gets hot/warm under minimal usage like browsing Chrome near the rear camera. It also seems that the battery life is terrible, like four hours to go from 80% to 0% with light usage. Also I've noticed that the screen randomly flashed brightly once or twice when it was turned down pretty low. Does anyone think this is cause for worrying or is it normal? Thank you for any answers.

Sure doesn't sound normal to me.
Mine never gets warm with light usage. Sounds like you should call Google and RMA it. Look up Google play contact, and call their number

I don't think so.. but I have a case on it now and the camera is the only exposed area. I don't think it gets warm from normal usage, but probably if I play a video or game. Then again, climate varies (also temp of hands affects heat perception). But next time I use it for an hour or more I'll take the case off and feel it.
Unfortunately I haven't done much testing on battery. I did run it down once to 20 percent once, I forget how long it took. But I'm sure it's longer than 4 hours.
What is your display?
And what does it say under battery? Usually screen should be main eater of battery unless intense apps are being used.

Hello XDA,
I decided to open this topic as I've been fumbling around with my device alot lately. Lately I've started to notice a dramatic increase of temperature while using my device running simple tasks like chrome, whatsapp etc. This only sometimes gets the device till 45-50 degrees Celsius, this is the CPU's temperature. While gaming, it reaches a whopping 60C ! Flashed to stock, updated to new base, reboot after reboot did not solve this issue. While charging sometimes it gets really really hot!
Now I'm wondering about your experiences, how hot does your CPU get doing what tasks? I'm wondering because im contemplating whether or not bring my device in to a service center as I've never had a device CPU above 45 degrees celsius.

I think its normal.
Does your phone start to lag when it gets hot? If not, then in my opinion you are still safe.
Same here, but I only realized it was heating last month. Maybe it has something to do with a background process? Sometimes I can even feel the heat when my phone is in my pocket

My S4 heats up on charge with any battery.
I found mine goes really hot on charge than heat goes down on trickle charge.
Hello everyone, I recently purchased a new note 4 St N910C. Just after a day of usage I felt that it is getting hot when I play games on it. I closed all the background apps even resetted it but still no luck. My phone is getting heated up near the camera area. My question is that is this a hardware issue or a software one, because if it is a hardware issue I should try and get it replaced, if a software one I should better wait for a lollipop update.
Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated
Thanks

Well i bought this unit after along study of whether to get the exynos version or the snapdragon version, in my opinion I found the exynos to be better because many users suggested that this version does not heat up and works better, but now as I'm using it personally I think it heats up alot, the temperature I get is around 36-38 degrees.

Galaxy Note 4 heating [camera]
I purchased Galaxy Note 4 [SM-N910G] a week back. It's on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat)
I am having a different problem for which I could not find any satisfying solution on the Internet. Whenever I open camera app, the phone starts heating up near camera & battery also drains very quickly [around 2% under 5 min.]
I know that the phone will heat up a little bit when playing high graphics games, but I don't think it should heat up too much when using camera app.
I have already factory reset [both soft & hard reset] the phone, but still it does not help. I contacted Samsung support, & they told me to 'Reset app preferences' from Application manger, but still the device heats up when using camera app.
I also cleared data of the camera app, but still the issue remains
The phone does not heat up at all on standby mode, but opening camera app raises it's temperature more than it should. Previously a Note 2 user, this problem was not there.
Anyone else experiencing the same issue on Note 4 ? Any ideas on this ?
The phone heats up only if you're recording 4k or 2k video. If you use camera generally & your device heats up.You must get your device checked

You can factory reset all day, it won't help. Thats not a problem, the camera just uses a lot of processor power and thus generates heat. You can't change that, you have to live with it
My note 4 with ****y snapdragon heat like fire
I wanna replace it because of the overheating I can't something even hold it I put is always in freezer to cold it
With cpu temp app it gave me 60c even without games the :crying:best value was 40c but when I put it in freezer it down to 30c
And the weard thing that at the same time the cpu temperature app gave me 60c the cpu cooler app gave me 34c
Weard which is right? ??

Sorry, but do you have any idea about CPU temperatures? 60 isn't bad. 40 isn't bad. 30 isn't bad. Even 70° and occasionally 79° would be acceptable. Don't put your phone into the freezer, ity not good to freeze the hardware.. Especially if you literally have no problem. The CPU is prone to temperature fluctuations and your values are fully normal in the world of CPUs. There is no best value, everything up to 70° is the normal temperature variation. Your phone doesn't have a problem, its perfectly fine.
Mine actually heats up while charging and using at same time. Clean master shows 70-75°C cpu temperature while using browser and stuff but 80+ while gaming, that's not normal right? I'm worried cuz I always used my old phones while charging and they never got this hot, I feel like it will melt someday :/ In what temperatures exynos operates?
I got my SM-N910F yesterday and installed LP 5.0.1 via OTA. Temperatures are 40+ when the phone isnt doing anything. While I did the Antutu Benchmark, it was around 50-52 degrees (Celsius). Feels much warmer than my previous Note 3 (which of course never had LP). And since i am not used to this temparature on my Note 3, i kinda worry about the temps right now. I read a lot that many have that problem since LP update. So whats normal and what would be too high for regular usage (not using Camera or playing Games) ? Is there an average i can go by and compare ?
And whats my alternatives now if I want lower temps , go back to 4.4.4 Stock Rom (currently have LP 5.0.1 Stock) or do I try a 5.x Custom ROM . Did the Custom ROMS fixed these heating problems or is that just something I have to live with ?
Thanks for any help.

Mine was getting warm from the start. Thought it was lack of SIM, put that in and made some adjustments and its getting pretty darn hot... Am I alone on this?
When I first got it and put it on the fast charger and was playing with it. I noticed same thing it felt really warm even after i had it off the charger, but today I have not experienced the same. I have been using it pretty regularly but have not had it on the charger or played any games (at work) so I will report back once I do

Good to know I'm not alone. Good thing I got this at BB. If it's just a small percentage maybe I can just swap it out. It feels about 100 degrees + right now. So I'm using my tablet. I don't want to unlock bootloader until I know for sure.

I always wondered why my ear glowed the the dark after using my phone.
@Fantach read up on SARS levels on phones. It also makes the area of the body warm.
I plugged mine in with the Turbo charger when I got it (was at 43%) and did all the downloading and updating apps. It felt pretty hot, so I checked it with Gsam battery and it was 118 degrees. That's hotter than my M9 gets doing the same thing, but the M9 stays hot longer.
After it reached 100% (which was pretty fast), it cooled down pretty quick... It also didn't take too long to get back down to 70% (maybe 3 hours). Standby time is pretty good, but SOT seems to drain the battery pretty quick. But this is a new phone (basically a new ROM flash) and will settle in a few days and I expect to see better battery stats.

Heat is 100% fine. And Motorola Nexus 6 was a lot lower than iPhone.... Like myself and 2 other guys said. It's like the phone adjusts. It gets very hot AT FIRST, then it drastically cools down. Did an Antutu and it didn't even heat up. I swear, heat isn't an issue.

Thank you for your clarification, i feel much better now :victory:
Mine got hot today as well. It was downloading my apps. A little more past 100 apps from the Play Store. It's not a constant issue since I have been using the MXP
I've had this phone for 3 days and it has not calmed down. Still gets hot and this screen destroys battery time. It has nice standby but when the screen is a battery hog. The temps get high with any real usage. My Nexus 6 has been much better with temps and battery. Wondering if it's a bad faulty batch or if this is the processor/screen.
It's a shame because this phone is a dream besides all that. But I am suspect to keeping this with the overheat and battery drain.
