I'm having tons of issues with my nexus player, but one in particular is with voice search. It was working initially but now more often then not when you initiate a search my speech is dictated into the search box, but it waits for more dictation rather then searching. I can just continue to talk forever and it keeps entering text. Super annoying, I've tried resetting the device, factory resets, clearing data on different system apps and sometimes it works temporarily but the problem always returns. Running latest marshmallow OTA but it's done it on 5.1 as well.
Any ideas?

Experiencing the exact same problem.... I usually go back and try again, but it's defiantly frustrating sometimes.

Prior to the GB update, GV worked pretty well and was about as responsive as any other app on my phone. After the GB update (4.5.91) GV was noticeably slower to open (1-2 secs) than most other apps which open immediately, especially if they're already running in the background.
I tried uninstalling updates and then re-installing and am currently on the latest version, but it's only getting slower. Now the whole app will occasionally freeze for a second in the middle of typing a message.
I googled around a bit and found only complaints of older versions. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on what can be done short of a factory reset to fix this? I'm rooted and have TB and have contemplated the 'wipe data' option for GV, but haven't tried that yet.
I have lots of fc from many different apps. Chrome is laggy and sometimes hang while browsing xda. GPS stops working all the time. Gallery has corrupted thumbnails. This is after fully updating the tablet and doing a factory reset. Is my tablet defective?
No issues so far for me... This tablet is noticeably faster and smoother than the older Nexus 7....
I seem to have fixed most of my problems including the GPS by doing a factory reset and not using any Google account to register the device during initial setup. I think the problem is that other programs from my other Google device are being restored onto this tablet. Google search will fc if i use voice for searches though. Gallery still displays corrupted thumbnails.
The GPS issue is one thing that has been reported elsewhere and it looks like google is looking at that. I've had the GPS quit working on my tablet too. The other annoying problem I have with this tablet is that it refuses to turn on much of the time. I keep pressing the power button, holding for different intervals and eventually it does turn on. I think I heard this is another problem some people have reported.

Recently, I factory reset my device and continued to update and install all my apps again. After countless hours of setup, I go into setup S Voice (setting up Wake Up command and what not), then I restarted.
Now, when I go to ask S Voice a question, be it "tell me a joke" or "what time is it?" I usually get the response "Please try again" or "I am unable to assist you, please restart the application" after waiting for about 30 seconds or sometimes the app just shows the loading circle and doesn't respond with anything, going back to the mic button again. Nothing further is reported just that. I must say on my previous device the Galaxy S6, Svoice worked fine! I could ask it these questions without a hiccup, but now these problems arise.
I have cleared the app's data and cache as well as uninstalling all updates to the app and reinstalling all updates (as I thought maybe the update download got corrupted) and yet the problem persists. I restarted the device too, still a no go. One thing I must mention though, commands such as "open Gallery" work fine and open instantly.
Please help!

Did you solve this? I have the exact same problem. I did a factory reset as well. Ugh!
Been a while since I had any issues with a phone I couldn't fix, but this is usually the best place to come when you run into something weird. Whilst I very much suspect that my phone has reached the end, there maybe something I can do if someone here has seen this before and managed to fix it.
A couple of days ago my phone started acting weird. Google assistant would start up for no apparent reason. Sometimes if I was in an app I'd just get a pop-up message but at other times I'd be taken to my home screen. The frequency came and went, but at it's worst it would happen every few seconds and would last for a good 5-10 minutes.
Thought it was just something weird in the OS so I booted back to the factory reset menu, wiped the cache and the system partition and started again. That didn't work. The start-iup process began with voice assistant turned on and every button click requiring activation and double clicking. I've since tried 5 factory resets.
I've disabled Google Assistant now and removed any updates. I've wiped out it's cache and tried all of the settings to make it stop so I no longer get Google Assisitant launching, but I do get something happening which asks me to "complete action using" and shows me the Samsung internet app, S Voice and Quick dial.
This is making me wonder if I'm looking at a hardware problem. I've switched everything off and given everything a good clean just in case one of the buttons has something stuck in it but that hasn't changed the situation.
If anyone here has any ideas or suggestions then they would be very gratefully received.
Thank you
Clean dalvik cache and update stock software through odin or custom rom may solve your problem
Thanks, will give it a go, forgot about the dalvik cache in the last reset so a good heads up. Will have to look into Odin, not had to use that in years.
Hi, I have a Galaxy S10+ on Verizon in the USA.
Having a few major problems that I just can't figure out:
1. When I try to download apps from the Play store, the download gets to 99 or 100% but never completes the installation. The fix is to go into settings/apps/show system apps/download manager and "force stop." Then the installation will complete.
2. Some apps don't work correctly. For example the CBS Radio News app starts streaming audio, then stops a few seconds later. And the ParKing app sometimes records my location upon disconnection from my car's bluetooth, and sometimes it doesn't.
3. Notifications from all apps are totally unreliable. Sometimes they'll come right away. Sometimes not for hours, and sometimes all at once. And sometimes when tapping on a notification it will bring you into the app. while sometimes it will do nothing.
WHAT I TRIED:
Tried rebooting, clearing data and cache on problem apps.
Cleared data and cache on "Google", Google Play Store and google play services.
Cleared phone's cache partition.
Uninstalled and reinstalled broken apps.
I THOUGHT I FOUND THE SOLUTION:
All these problems went away a month or so ago when I logged out of my google account on the phone. Iogged back in and it all worked great! I thought the problem was solved, but now it's all happening again. Logged of the the google account and back in, but it's still broken this time.
AND:
I had similar problems with my Galaxy S7, and thought the new phone would fix these problems! Is it possible there's something wrong with my google account? How could I have the same problems on both phones?
I haven't yet tried a factory reboot on the S10+, but I did do it on the S7, and after working for a while, the problems came back.
Additional info:
Mobile data and wifi have strong signals.
No custom ROMs, not rooted or anything, just stock the way it came. Only downloaded apps from Play Store. Nothing sideloaded.
All battery optimization is turned off. Power mode set to "high performance."
I've looked everywhere for a solution and have come here to the ultimate experts. You're my last hope!
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
