I want to Flash Sammy Rom, which is 4.4.2 Based, but my phone is updated to 4.4.4? Will I be able to flash the rom like I normally flash any other or is there another process?

Sammy Rom is a TW ROM. If you're coming from an AOSP ROM you will want to do a factory reset in you're recovery.
First, make a backup from your recovery in case you don't like the new ROM or you have issues. After you have made your backup do a factory reset. After you factory reset flash the new ROM.
You can backup apps with Titanium Backup or something similar if you want to try and restore them on your new rom. (may not work)
Good Luck!

Okay because I'm coming from liquidsmooth. If I do a factory reset, then will that wipe my internal memory?

I think he is mixing up some words. He means to wipe your device in the custom recovery, not to factory reset it.

So clean wipe, then flash like normal. So 4.4.2 will not create an issue on my S4 because it's on 4.4.4?

Yes do a clean wipe as you say. Inside ROMs it is sometimes called a "Factory data reset" or something along those lines. It is the same thing in the end.
Thanks guys.

got a system ui crash went to my back up and still have that problem
factory reset and same thing
went to my stock rom back up same thing'

Layers are installed in vendor partition. You need to flash a clean vendor or delete the layers from there.

thank you very much that did it
Hey guys. I have TWRP 2.8.7.2 installed. I've been using Pure Nexus + Elemental X exclusively since December. This never seemed to be a problem before, but my last few flashes have resulted in sticky data. I go into TWRP, advanced wipe and wipe: DALVIK, System, data, Cache. Then, I delete Android from the internal storage and any other app directories that linger. Then I install the ROM, GApps, and kernel. Then, when I first boot my email shows up in the Google account setup. I thought "maybe it's saved on the sim card." But then I notice that when I reinstall apps, that they retain their data and my user data (for example, I don't even need to log into Runkeeper).
So somehow, despite performing a full wipe and clean install my user data is being saved. I know it's not part of internal storage so wiping that would only result in me having to copy my ROM files, music, photos, etc back over. So, where is this user data being saved and why isn't it being wiped?
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure why this is happening, it's definitely word. But is there a reason you're wiping like this when updating the ROM? You really don't need to, you can just dirty flash the ROM zip when updating.

I don't like to dirty wipe. I guess it's the OCD in me that likes to start clean every time. I wonder if it's a bug in TWRP or something.

I used to do the same thing, until I realised I was just wasting time for no benefit. I don't think it's a TWRP issue, I was using that same build for ages with no problems. You could try updating to the latest TWRP though.
Try with "rm - fr" instead of regular wipe in options, maybe this works.
Are you doing a Factory Reset in TWRP to actually wipe the rom away? You list system, cache, and data (internal storage) but not Factory Reset.
Alternatively, are your apps reinstalling after signing into your account at Setup Wizard?

Try wiping system 2x. I had to do this on my S6. After wiping the first time and going back to the advance menu, System would then show up as 2 different partitions, System Read and System Write. I had to wipe the 2 in order to do a clean install. Although this is not the case for the 6P, I have made it a habit to do so. If that fails, you will need to adb the factory image.

He's already performing a factory reset by wiping the partitions individually.

That's what you would think, but why is this happening?
FWIW, I always TWRP factory reset, then wipe all the partitions he mentioned again by itself and have never seen this behavior on any version of TWRP.

I have no explanation for what's happening, I really don't know. I only ever use the advanced wipe menu, it's pointless performing the factory reset too.
Is it possible to downgrade from CM14.1 to CM13 via DirtyFlash?
Reason is that xposed is not working on Android N yet and i want to DirtyFlash, because i do not want to wipe all my datas / make a factory reset.
I have a G900F.
Why not to backup Ur data by titanium backup :/?

dirty flash will not work. use TiB to back up the stuff you want to keep, go into TWRP, use the advanced options file manager to delete the android folders from both internal and external. Wipe those 3x each (yes, 3x) and then do a factory reset and install your CM13 variant and restore your stuff via TiB. Thats the only sure fire way to get this to work.

Hey, I have LG G2 D802 with TWRP recovery and CM13 ROM and I would like to give this phone to my dad and I want to delete all apps and settings, but if I will do factory reset, it will remove CM 13 and give back stock rom that I dont want. How do I delete all apps and settings without removing CM13? Btw I cant reflash CM again because CM Download is dead.
Thanks

Hi!
It won't. A "factory reset" will reset the current OS to the point you flashed CM13, not the entire phone. There is no stock OS on your device anymore. Only CM13. So, just do it.
No need to flash a stock rom. If you want delete all apps and settings just do a factory reset through twrp recovery and if you want delete all data and files photos videos ... go to format data . any rom on your phone you can delete it only in advanced wipe>wipe system, not when you do a factory reset like you think
