Hello, I am new to verizon. I just got a galaxy s5 and the phone is great I love. It's been about two months now with verizon. I recently noticed the s5 starting to have poor voice reception and poor data also. Tech support has replaced my Sim card and my phone and I'm still having same issue. Now they want to replace my s5 again. Not sure what's going on. I wonder if the new phone will have same issues. Has anyone dealt with this issue or know anything about it? Thanks
Anyone having an issue getting LTE on AT&T?
Just curious - I remember having weird issues with devices that aren't sold by AT&T are limited to H signals only. Was hoping I didn't have to get on a live chat with them again to switch to an approved IMEI for LTE.
Thanks!! Looking forward to my 6P
No issues on AT&T. In fact my DB is about -5 better than with my OPO which had pretty darn good signal.
No problems where I am, picking up band 17 and band 2 just like I was on my s6 active.

no problems here. i feel like i get even better LTE coverage than i did with my old Nexus 5 and Micro SIM card - which was already stellar. maybe try a fresh new Nano SIM Card and make sure they have your new N6P IMEI on your account in their system associated with the fresh Nano SIM Card.
Phew! Glad to hear it all Thanks!
I've had no issues.. I actually went from my At&t HTC One M9 to a Moto X Pure Edition, then a OnePlus2 and now the N6P..... I have great reception and no issues with anything.
No issues here whatsoever either, just used a sim cutter I had earlier to cut down the sim from my note 4. Popped it in and good to go.
No problems going from an AT&T Samsung GS4 to a 2014 Moto X Pure Edition to the Nexus 6P. But, my mom got a 5X as her first smart phone and I had to chat with AT&T to have her line provisioned for LTE. They just needed the IMEI of the 5X and in just a few minutes, she had LTE.
I was on the old Verizon unlimited plan with a Samsung Galaxy S5 when i bought the Axon 7. To switch devices i just took the sim out of the S5 and put it in the Axon and everything worked. That was 6 months ago. Today i switched to Verizon's new unlimited plan and they can't activate this phone. I've been on the phone with their tech support all afternoon and they can't do it. I'm on B25 7.1.1 stock. Has anybody gone through something like this? Please give me some advice if you have. Thank you in advance for any info anybody might have.
they definitely cannot activate the axon 7. it was never approved for use on their network. (thanks verizon) so i havent gone through that exactly, but before i bootloader unlocked and switched to Res Remix ROMs, i had to set up the phone from factory reset with an unactivated att sim inserted. then use wifi to set everything up. once that is done, power off, pop out GSM sim, put in Verizon sim, and reboot. network should work then. this has to be repeated every so often, when network goes from Verizon Wireless to 000000... total pain, but then again, verizon never approved axon 7, which i knew when i bought it. if you arent concerned about warranty, then boot loader unlocking and flashing custom is an immediate and permanent fix. This is the one Achilles heel of the Axon 7 imho. great device with several great devs if custom and root are in your vocabulary. hope that helps to some extent.

Thanks for the fast reply. What happened was that they turned the sim card off to switch plans and the sim has to be attached to a phone and they couldn't get their system to do that because it's not an approved device. 4 different people yesterday in 2 depts couldn't do it. So i called today to delete my account with them and this person knew something the other 4 didn't. She attached the sim to a previous phone i had, the S5 and wahla sim card activated. Also yesterday one of them said they're going to submit some form to another dept with my device imei and iccid numbers and that they can force their system to approve my device. I don't know what that was about. But i've been with them for over 10 years and i was going to cancel them today. I've noticed them being nicer now that they have a formidable competitor in T-Mobile. Btw i am bootloader unlocked, twrp recovery and rooted. Thanks again!!
Res Remix works with no issues once your sim is functional. most of the other roms work fine as well. the only annoyance left is having to set up on wifi, despite having a sim in. Glad VZW is realizing other carriers have something to offer. ive been a customer for 15 years now. Glad they did right by you.

I tried Lineage on my Axon and i've tried different roms since my first Android, the Motorola Droid but they always have some kind of issue. For one reason or another i always end up going back to stock after trying out the rom for a couple of days.
So according to this CNET article Verizon network certification is not complete.
That is a problem for me. If it doesn't get Verizon certification, it is of no use to me.

Got this from their support today:
Thank you for your question. We expect to receive Verizon certification soon. Though it is not certified by Verizon, it does work on the their network. You will need to make sure you are using a NFC nano SIM for full functionality. Have a great day.

I'm using a Xiaomi Mi Note 2 on Verizon right now and it works fine. I have VoLTE. No Wifi calling though. I'm 99.9% sure Verizon never certified this phone.
What I should have said, is that if it doesn't work right out of the box, it's no use to me.
When I got my Nexus 6P you had to jump through a few hoops because you couldn't get a SIM card.
You had to have an existing active phone.
is it really an issue though? just swap the sim from your phone into that one and it will work. only issue comes from if you don't already have a phone with a nano sim or can't use a buddies phone to help. yes hoops like that suck but it had to be expected that verizon would take way longer than everyone else.

Only if it doesn't work when I drop in the SIM.
I have a Nexus 6P and I've been through the whole thing about phones not being certified.
Sometimes, though, not being certified, also means not working.

It's actually really good. I was running Resurrection Remix on it so pretty much stick with some tweaks. I get all the LTE bands on Verizon and have VoLTE. I get good data speeds. The battery is really good. Overall it's a nice phone. It's just hard to go back to bezels after having a Mix, a G6 and an S8+. This was just supposed to be a serviceable phone to hold me over while I waited on one of the current crop and it's done its job well.
I got my phone on Friday and used it fine right away. Today Verizon service stopped. Put my SIM back in my Pixel and everything is fine. Switched twice, no Essential, Pixel fine. Anyone else have a similar issue?

Set your preferred Network to global in the settings.

Try factory resetting without the Sim in then install sim and factory reset again. It's how I got the axon 7 to run perfect on Verizon. No need to change settings or anything.

I had a similar issue the other day. It just suddenly started working again an hour after I factory reset. I would say don't touch the network settings or use the 4636 menu. That's when I started to have issues.

Enhanced 4G LTE Mode works.
just lost my verizon service on this phone within the last hour or two. sim works fine with the pixel xl.... not good
update: factory reset worked, but still not happy. they better get certification soon from verizon
So I was hoping to switch to Verizon from Sprint after I got this phone. I guess I have to wait for certification since I don't have a Verizon sim?

I'm on Verizon, set to "Global"
Just received my S10+ a few hours ago. Purchased online through Verizon with device payments. This is probably my 8th Smart Phone purchase with device payments and never had one carrier lock before. My last 3 phones (Pixel 2 XL, iPhone XR, Note 9) have not been carrier locked what so ever even if they are financed.
Today shortly after activating and setting up the device, I pulled my Verizon SIM out and inserted my T-Mobile SIM like I've done many times before. I instantly got a message that said "Sorry, your device cant be activated on another carriers network right now."
Could this be Verizon Carrier locking the phone or is there an issue server side at Samsung?
The phone activated with no issues on Verizon's end, calls, messages, data all working fine.
i bought Verizon s10+ on samsung.com, it works fine with Freedompop, using ATT network.
I called Verizon. They say there should be no carrier lock regardless of how it was purchased. Guess I'll have to chat with Samsung.
I'm having the same exact issue on my new Verizon S10. Wanted to finish off my month of Google Fi before switching back to Verizon, but I get the same pop-up "Sorry, your device cant be activated on another carriers network right now." I've been on the phone for hours with multiple Verizon, Samsung, and Google Fi reps about this issue and no one has an answer.
Verizon has triple checked and confirmed that there are no carrier locks on my phone. Google Fi just pretends like the issue is that their service isn't "officially compatible" with the new S10 yet. And Samsung keeps telling me that Verizon needs to unlock my phone (even though it's unlocked and paid off). Verizon suggested that maybe it was a Google Fi issue too, so I tried my wife's AT&T and I get the same pop-up restricting other carriers. I even tried activating the phone on Verizon first with a brand new line, and then switching SIMs, but still the same pop-up.
I'm onto my last resort right now, which is to exchange my Verizon S10 for a completely unlocked S10. That isn't ideal since my intentions were to switch back to Verizon eventually, and I would be losing Verizon-specific features. I've never had this issue before, and Verizon tech support has never seen this issue before either. I have no idea what Samsung is doing on their end with these carrier-specific S10s. I'm even currently using a Verizon Note 9 on Google Fi, with absolutely no issues. Not sure if there is new software with these new phones, but it is extremely frustrating.
Same. Nobody knows whats going on.
I will use my S10+ on Verizon for a few days and try to swap the sim again maybe next week. See if somehow it updates on its own.
S10 plus Verizon
Well I just purchased a Verizon branded s10 plus. Popped in my tmobile sim and LTE works.
I'm having the same issue, Verizon S10+ trying to move to T-Mobile
Those having issues, also financed?
Mine is fixed. Did it on its own.

I tried my Google Fi SIM card again, and it still has the same pop up. "Your device cannot be activated on another carrier's network right now." You said you activated the phone on Verizon first though right? How many days did you have a Verizon line active?
The very first power ON was on Thursday around Noon with a T Moible SIM. The phone quickly rejected it and I installed the sim it came with. I messed around with it for a few hours until I gave up and just left the Verizon sim in it.
Today (sunday) I decided to try the T Mobile SIM around 4PM and noticed it was working so I posted an update.
So you actually paid the activation fee and had an active Verizon line on the phone first?
Yes I financed through Verizon.

How is your Note 9 on Google Fi? Was considering switching from T-Mobile to Find. Do you still get WiFi calling? What kinda of data speeds so you get? Sorry, off topic, but don't know anyone personally on Google Fi that doesn't have a pixel.
As an FYI... I purchased an S10+ in full, no payments on Friday morning from the Verizon store. I put my tmobile sim in later that afternoon and got the same message. I talked to tech support and they said it takes 48 hours from activation. He mentioned that they are doing this to prevent theft from store and from people buying/stealing them with out activating them and trying to sell them.
He unlocked it immediately while I was on the phone and I got a text message saying "when I insert a non-verizon sim in the phone it will be unlocked". I put in my tmobile sim and worked fine.
Makes sense why my device started to work after two days.

I talked to 3 different tech supports and they repeated told me all of the possible locks on my phone were unlocked...did you activate the phone first in the Verizon store, or did you go straight to a T-Mobile SIM?

Most of them don't know what they are talking about. I talked to many of them who said the phones were not locked, some said the phones are always locked which I clearly disputed as they don't know their own employers policies/information and read from scripts. The 333rd person I spoke with knew exactly what I was talking about lol.
I didn't activate it in the store, I did when I got home using the verizon sim. After, I put in my tmobile sim and got the message. I didn't want to wait 48 hours (what the first tech told me) so I kept calling until I finally got someone knowledgeable enough to know what I was talking about and he unlocked it while I was on the phone in 10 seconds.

Hmm thanks for the info. Guess I'll keep trying different tech supports. I wonder if they'll be able to unlock without activation at all. Otherwise I'll be paying $50 for a pointless line.
Yes. Verizon now sim locks phones for 24 hours after initial activation. iPhones included. Sometimes the older stock androids or iPhones will immediately accept another sim, but most times now, you have to wait a day. This has been going on since January as far as I've seen.
