yes u have to first flash olinex hspl 1.56 then flash any other wwe roms, am too having starhub touch hd from singapore but right now am in india.

Though if willing for any improvements why don't you try a cooked ROM?

It looks like HTC rollback 1.66 update for our HD2, because in Polish section 1.66 is rollbacked too. I suggest you to visit on Sunnysoft site: http://www.sunnysoft.com/htc/
and download ROM for HD2 + language pack. For my country v1.66 is avaible, maybe for your localization it will be similary.

I select europe and 3 rom upgrade are available and with my serial can download only this rom.

Oficial HTC HD2 roms with x.XXX.479.x are fore: Czech and Poland users.
With your SN code, HTC know witch device from with area it is. By protection, and give you a update identical on the one you have running fore the moment.
I guess you will tray to download the new Rom update that everyone is talking about!? But fore the moment thy don't have a version fore your device area, that's way you get your error.

I couldnt check properly, since i couldnt see the exact filenames without entering a serial, but it sounds like some are WWE and some are eastern europe, certainly some kind of region lock issue,
The simple answer is HSPL2, pick an hspl, (2.08.hspl or 1.66.hspl would be my suggestion) then get whichever rom you want from the official roms thread in rom development section, flash as normal over usb.

I flashed my wildfire with 2.22.405.1 by file RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.22.405.1_Radio_13.55.55.2 4H_3.

Now it has original recovery and Hboot 1.01.0001
How can I flash custom ROM? I need russian language, but morelocale can't find it in the current ROM

Official 2.2 can't be rooted yet, so you can't flash a new rom
