I set my 6P up both only used 3 fingerprints in the process. Is there any way to easily set more up as there was option for more initially?
You can add more in settings - Security - Nexus Imprint
No idea if 3 is the limit though as I have only set up one so far, works well though.
5 fingerprints is the limit on my device.

Is it possible to have both a swipe lock and a pin lock? I want to have a pin lock if the phone hasn't been used or unlocked for 30 minutes and a swipe lock to avoid accidentally unlocking the phone. The pin lock is a requirement for accessing a corporate Exchange account.
It worked on my old Nexus One with CyanogenMod 7.2. But I haven't figured it out on my Nexus 4 with CyanogenMod 10.1 nightly
I'm sure this would be possible using tasker if you have any experience with that app. In fact tasker allows you to pin lock only certain applications which may come in handy for you. You should look it up if you haven't heard of it before.

I was able to set a pin lock with Tasker using Secure settings. But I'm not sure what will happen if I disable the pin lock and switch to Swipe lock a hundred times a day. Perhaps the corporate security admin will wipe my phone :silly:
Could it be solved by using another lock screen than stock?

Installing Widget Locker solved my problem :good:

Switch between swipe and pin (or pattern)
Has anyone found a possible solution?
I LOVE swipe lock, dashclock, and quick apps etc. But at work, I would prefer a pin. When I don't want the pin anymore, instead of diabling a lock screen all together, how can I set it to revert back to a swipe lock screen?

share a related thread?
I have been searching forever for a way for Tasker to realize im driving and change settings etc because Im going say 20mph (even just for a few seconds) would indicate that I am likely driving.

Here are some resources for lock screens:

Thanks!
IDEA: at location 1 --> enable pin at location 2--> disable pin
A toggle as listed above for random situations like a baseball game etc.
Two questions about the lock screen and security for those in the know.
1) Any easy to use free app that will change the lock screen security automatically either based on time or location? When I get to work, I change my lock screen to pattern security and when I leave work I turn it off. It's a pain to do this each day manually.
2) With the above, even if I had to do it manually, is there a way to keep the settings somehow so I don't have to do the pattern twice and then a pin number for backup twice, each and every time I set it to pattern lock?
Thanks for any help. I know there are a few different programs like Tasker, but they seem fairly complicated and I can't find a way to set security like this.
As you said, tasker is very useful to do things like that. Try it. It's easy and you won't regret.
I never could figure out Tasker. Maybe I just need more time with it.
Trying smart lock right now. I wish there was a way to say "don't trust this location" but trust every other location. I just want my phone locked at work.
Are you on lollipop? If so enable Google smart lock in security-trusted agents then check out security-smart lock

Ha ha....guess you missed the second line of my post above yours?
Is there a way I can set this? Like if I don't use my phone for an hour require a pin to unlock it instead of a fingerprint.
Hola
Simple I think. 2 areas you need to configure:
1. Settings -> Display -> Sleep
2. Settings -> Security -> Screen lock -> Automatic lock

Unless ZTE changed the lockscreen behavior from Marshmallow, the fingerprint scanner will always unlock the device. If you can disable the fingerprint scanner temporarily, I can work something out for you using Tasker. On the lock screen, look for the padlock logo (it might be a fingerprint) at the bottom center of the screen. Either tap it, or press and hold. You may or may not see a message appear (see the attached screenshot). Try to unlock the phone with your fingerprint and let me know if you're forced to type in the PIN.
Apps designated as Device Administrators are supposed to have the ability to lock the device and disable the fingerprint scanner. Nova Launcher, Secure Settings, and Tasker all have Device Administrator supported lock commands. On stock Android, this would disable the fingerprint scanner and require the PIN to be entered. On B29, I found that ZTE removed this behavior and gave the fingerprint scanner absolute authority to unlock the device. If this is still the case, I never figured out a way to completely lock the device.
FWIW I was forced to enter a password today, fingerprint did not work. I did not knowingly reboot. I too find this behavior very disturbing. I do not memorize my passwords as the are robust (long) my finger should suffice in all circumstances IMHO. I am wondering if I could get any kind of an answer from customer service at Axon....
He always used the fingerprint scanner and didn't use the lock pattern so is there a default pattern it could be? He really doesn't want to get a new phone.

You have to set up a pin, pattern or password before it will even let you use fingerprint.

Is it asking him to input one or setup one? When I updated, I got confused because I thought I was being asked for a pattern but actually it was asking me to set one up. I bypassed it and setup the fingerprint instead. Can't remember how I got by it though.

You don't have to set up security, it's optional.

There's also the option of setting up the pattern requirement at boot, which is separate (but uses the same pattern I think).
Hi Everyone,
I have been using the OnePlus 6T for around 6 months now. I was using a Samsung Galaxy Note series before. In my note I was able to add my fingerprints but keep my screen unlock security to swipe and lock specific apps (using 3rd party apps). I like this feature as it is helpful to lock and protect my private apps but still can give my phone to others if needed without having the trouble to unlock it every time before handing it over.
Is there any reason for this not being present in OP6T , because when I change the settings to Swipe all the fingerprint/face-data is removed completely and I'm unable to use any third party apps also to keep my apps locked as fingerprint data itself is removed. Is there a workaround for this, Thanks a ton in advance.
FP is not available with none/swipe 'security' options as they are not really secure options
