Hi I came from the HTC one m8 and love this feature as I have the phone on my desk at work very often, is there an app or any way to get this onto my 6p? Sorry if this has come up before I haven't been on this forum for such a long time.
You need root and a terminal app of your choice, get su permission and enter the following command
echo 1 > /sys/devices/soc.0/f9924000.i2c/i2c-2/2-0070/input/input0/wake_gesture
Is the dt2w 100% reliable? Or is it hit and miss like on the Nexus 6?

It's just as reliable as my LG G2 was which is reliable.
Root and install elementalx, dt2w has been reliable for me so far.

Gotta do it each time you reboot though., no? Any fix for that?
If you use ElementalX kernel that keeps it on when rebooting.

Welcome!
... Now get some FroYo on there eh
Yeah, this is my first day with the N1 too. I'm actually going to turn it on for the first time in 10 minutes..
I just got mine yesterday and I LOVE IT! I had the G1 when it first came out but got rid of it for an iPhone I got off of a friend. While the iPhone was good it's not as good as the Nexus One. It wasn't as "cool" even having it jailbroken compared to a stock android. I already installed froyo and rooted it and this thing is like a computer. I've got soo much more customization and flexibility. After seeing how far android has come, I'll never go back to iPhone.

Try not to smudge the screen too much.
Hello there!
I have ported the Jelly Bean to Nexus S from the Galaxy Nexus ROM (JRN84D).
I was earlier trying the SDK port but found it lags a bit (Some times too much!). So thought of porting the Galaxy Nexus ROM. Here is the result!
Before all, A big thanks to DaxMax and Steve676!
Whats working:
GSM/Calls
Audio
WiFi
Bluetooth
GPU
Camera
NFC
SDcard
USB
Google Now (Well it seems! Some one please confirm)
Automatic Brightness
It is soooo smooth!
Whats Not:
Not sure, I did not test it so much. Please let us know.
Camcorder do not work it seems.
One more interesting fact I found out with the Jelly Bean. You can boot to Safe Mode!!! Yes, You can! Press and hold the power down key
and again press and hold the Power Off menu. Look at the screen shots! It will disable all the user application at boot!
Since I do not have permission to post in development thread, I did it here. And I do not find any need to move this thread to Dev section,
since it is only few days before we get the OTA. Also I may not get time to work on it, and add some more fixes (if needed). Looks like
it can be a daily driver for me till OTA comes
But every one is welcome to expand this ROM.
Enjoy!

Thanks dude. Will back up and flash now.

the rom is really good (aside from the voice search bug and camcorder not working)
very fast and responsive (but i pressed restore from google account which slowed my phone down a bit )

Actually, it just lets me hit accept but then crashes whatever program I'm running after a few seconds of waiting. Nevermind then.

I'm K7C and I come from the doubleshot threads , I'm going to be getting a nexus 4 and wanted to know if I should get it. I like diff UI's and since this is the Nexus it has a lot of options. What would you rate your nexus with and without root. Thanks

Perfect description! Simply one cannot own a nexus and enjoy its full potential without root.
Not to mention the fact that the N4 is one of the easiest smartphones to unlock & root. Just don't use a toolkit, and enjoy learning about Android.

just because it glides, on its own, across seemingly flat surfaces, does not make it cursed

What's wrong with using the toolkit? If I can't use the tk then I will need someone to walk me through the process over the phone.

you learn nothing. so when you run into the issue, youre screwed since you dont know the basics. anyways, doing it the right way is just as easy as using a toolkit. all you need to do(in a nutshell) is fastboot oem unlock, flash a recovery via fastboot, flash either the su binaries or a custom rom in your new recovery, then reboot. nothing difficult. but learning to fastboot and to use the recovery is essential.

Can you not pull it directly off your LGP970? E.g. "adb pull /path/to/ringtone"

Turn on USB Debugging and then go to your SDK dir and run that adb command from up there.
If you don't know what those are, follow the first five steps of this tutorial
