Sorry if this has been answered already-I couldn't find it...
What is the difference between MDB08L and MDB08M build?
I just got my Nexus 6P yesterday and it was on the initial build MDA89D. Today I got an OTA to MDB08L...
Does anyone know what the difference between L and M build is? I am on T-mobile-should I upgrade to the M build or I would get a second OTA for the M?
Thank you.
Don't know what the difference is but I flashed the M factory image and I'm on TMO. No problems. Works great.

I haven't been able to find a definitive answer on this either. I'm also on T-Mobile and got an OTA to MDB08L. I wish google made notes next to each image to settle this once and for all.
8L is the Nov 1st security update.

So what is MDB08M?
It is somewhat frustrating that there are no notes and we don't know which build does what exactly-I believe both builds include the Nov security patch, but why are there two builds and what is the difference? Apparently no one knows...

You mean this?
L:
https://android.googlesource.com/platform/build/+/5f51f7d
M:
https://android.googlesource.com/platform/hardware/broadcom/wlan/+/25e0325
L is the security patch, M is two bugfixes for wireless.
Yes, thanks so much, I don't know why I did not see this....awesome!

I'd imagine so. Otherwise it would not make sense for Google to update from the older build straight to L.

Obviously M is the most current build as M comes after L in the alphabet. I would assume the L build does not contain those two changes as they are dated about 4 hours or so after the L security patch.
They dropped both system images (L & M) to developers.google at almost the same time last week which was confusing.
I know this is an old thread but i assume that L build stands for Lollipop build and M build stands for Marshmallow build..

well when google released 5.1 they added native dualsim support as far as i remember there used to be 2 builds for our phone on 5.0 (one for dualsim and the other for single) but with 5.1 released we started to get unified builds due to native dualsim support on 5.1

MultiSim support has been added into kitkat 4.4
Google improved it in 5.0/5.1
And they just provide UI support multisim so you won't get multisim working without the msim framework
Moto still providing different build for single and multisim devices

Actually, nobody will work with it because it needs a lot of hard work, and there's no free dev avaliable to such task. The closest this community approached from MIUI was v6, which can be accessed here. Ps: RIL doesn't work.
To build a ROM we need the sources. I couldn't find any sources for LP. On there githun there is only kk so no it will not be possible at all.

But I guess it's not. It's just because theyre going to release M soon and they have to finish 12.1 somehow. Let's call it snapshot.
Processor stays at full power i.e. 4 cores 1090Mhz. And Performance score is lower by more 500 points compared to latest Paranoid Legacy
Snapshot seems more stable as Nightlies (Obviously, this was expected ), but what @zman01 said makes kinda of sense: We might receive just a few snapshots before M releases, so do not expect many updates of 5.1.1 :v

Blame lenovo for the missing Oreo blob's cause they never released official android Oreo version for this device.
The developers here make an outstanding job to get Oreo running WITHOUT the essential drivers.
So now you can answer your questions yourself
I wonder if they will ever release oreo for this device. I lost all the hopes. They even have g5 lineup to update.

Their image is already lost. Their priorities have changed. I don't know why they launch so many variants, and struggle later to update so many of them. And the recent 6th gen series gets update support only for a year i think.

And I don't think so we will get Oreo .....not even soak test until now....its been one year and above . so better we guys should try to make a stable custom ROM than depending and waiting for update.
