Restoring Old TWRP backup to Nexus - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I'm somewhat new to the forum and I don't think I've ever really posted but I do need some help on something. I've just ordered a Nexus 6P and recently I smashed my OnePlus One by accident and it doesn't turn on or anything, however I do have some TWRP backups of it.
I was wondering if there was anyway I could get my data, like contacts, pictures, music, etc. from the backups onto my new phone? I'd appreciate any and all help, thanks guys.

Weird Titanium backup Question / Restoring setting

Hey guys,
I am planning on selling my Rogers X10a which has been unlocked and rooted and is currently running 026 firmware, and I'm going to buy the new American release as I am stuck with AT&T regardless (for other reasons). When i have the new phone and I root it, can I still use the same data from my memory card from titanium backup or do I have to start fresh because its a different device?
I don't know if this sounds like a bit of a noobish question, I'm just curious whether or not your device id somehow comes into play when using titanium backup. Thanks for any advice and I really appreciate everyone's thought and efforts in the forum. The info here is more helpful than anywhere else I have looked by far.
Nope, just backup the phone on the microSD and insert that microSD on that new phone and you will restore the phone like nothing happened. I have done it when I was swapping from black to white X10
Great, thanks for the quick follow-up. I'm thinking about switching to white also... It really looks good. Anyway, I appreciate it as always. thanks for the input.

[Q] S4 Backup EVERYTHING Without screen...

Hey guys, well I managed to do it. Smashed my first screen. On a new phone too... I would have expected to smash it after a year or so but NOOOO I went and messed it up after a month or so...
Anyway, I want to pull a full backup off of my phone. NANDROID Backup is it ?
It still works fine, and I can see tiny tiny parts of the upper left of the screen. and connect through ADB. But none of the ADB remote controlling things I have found work with my mouse/KB.... If I could do that I would be satisfied...
And when I try and remove the pattern via ADB I get permission denied.... Ive spend the last few hours trying to figure out what to do here but im at a loss...
Anyone able to help me out ?
Also, Anyone able to tell me how much money im gonna loose replacing this screen ? ;___;
I can also boot into CWM, But I dont know what is what, like, I dont know whats selected because I cant make out the words... I want to do a full backup of everything to external SD card if possible.... photos of the screens of CWM would help XD
I dont remember what version I have installed sorry :c
But yes, PLEASE HELP ME!
Some day I may be able to help you in return, Until then I extend my deepest thanks to all who can help me even in the slightest...
Additional notes:
Screen is buggered, one of these things for the most of it, And the digitizer glass itself is cracked quite a bit on the upper left... :c
I seem to recall seeing CWM 6.0.3 or something along those lines...
I tried these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587717
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800799
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420351
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800799&page=2
And a few on non XDA sites I shan't link due to possible rule violations
-CP
Ever find out?
Ever figure out CWM menu?
I'm in the same boat and waiting for the OTG USB HDMI out adapter to show up, hopefully I can get the mouse and HDMI going at the same time and Titanium Backup everything.
Good Luck!

[q] need serious help quick with data recovery

my s4 lcd cracked on its own, no dropping, no misuse, and i didnt have a chance to back up my files/contacts. I recently switched to android after five years with iphone. With the iphone i could simply plug into my pc and transfer files to itunes with no real knowledge. I figured in this day and age and with the level of tech on the galaxy s4 I could do the same.
my problem is i have 8 years of contacts and a few months of photos, videos, etc. I do not wish to lose. If I had to prioritize, the contacts are definitely paramount as I have them no other place. I know, i know, stupid for assuming recovery would be as simple as plugging into my pc.
My problem lies in that I had a lockcode on my phone, did NOT enable developers options prior to it crashing, and have ZERO experience with "crm flashing, and mounting, etc, etc" and really have no clue what they even are. I can follow instructions and learn pretty quickly, but cant write code or anything like that if that is what is required.
Can anyone provide me with any help or suggestions? I am even willing to take it somewhere to have it recovered if thats an option. I really am desperate for help here and would appreciate anything. Thanks. YOu can message me here or email at [email protected].
Thank you all.
BTw, i downloaded an app called drfone which came up in a google search under "recover dead/broken s4 data:". Well, i dont know who actually took the time to write that post out but it has detailed instructions on how to recover the data from a dead or broken phone, but contradicts itself at every turn since you need access to the touchscreen on the phone itself. That poster must of left their logic button unchecked that day.

[Q] Backup with screen cracked and phone locked

Hi there, so i am a total noob in these things, and did not everything understand what was answered in most similar threads, nor could i transfer that to my specific Problem, so i ask you for help in a new Thread.
I dropped my Nexus 4 and the screen cracked badly, it does not respond anywhere. Before i want to have it repaired, i want to backup all the data on it, since there are many things on it that are very valuable to me. It is rooted and i think USB debugging is activated, do you need any further information? So please give me some beginnerfriendly help how i can get my data back,
Thank you in avance
You can make a nandroid through your custom recovery, and then connect your device to your PC and pull all the contents from the SD (Including Nandroid). All this should be able to be done without touching the screen (Provided your custom recovery is button compatible and all your buttons are functioning).
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Free mobile app
My nexus 4 has no sd card slot :/
He means your internal memory (which is a soldered SD card essentially).
Replacing your screen won't affect your data. Replacing the screen assembly yourself isn't a terribly difficult task and could save you money over having it professionally done, plus your phone won't be in anybody else's hands, so you know your data is safe and uncompromised.

[Q] Restoring data on Nexus 7?

Had my nexus since they were first released, got a lot of good use out of it but it has finally died... Tried 3 batteries and checked connections etc.... Tried all the "help" videos about charging and holding various buttons and nothing works.
My question is, is it possible to get to the data on there without taking it to someone to fix? I have a new tablet so don't want to have to pay someone to fix it, i just want some of the files on there if possible??
