Uneven speaker volume. Any apps that can adjust it? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys.
I noticed that my phone have uneven speaker volume. ( top is louder than bottom )
Majority of apps out there only allow adjustment to overall volume... so I'm at a loss.

Speaker Volume Low

Hi All. Loving my new xperia except for the speaker level, which is far too low for car navigation and not too good for handsfree calls. Can anyone advise on increasing the speake volume please. Thanks.
How to increase the volume of the speaker
I have the same question.
The speaker is not loud enough. I heard that there are two volume settings that can increased separately to add up. It's that true?
This has already been dealt with here:

In other words no.
The small hole where the speaker is is very easily covered up (try playing an mp3 and put your thumb over the hole then removing it) You will see a HUGE drop in volume.
This especially annoying when i'm missing calls because the phone is in my pocket.
My previous phone the K700 allowed sound to 'leak' out...I am wondering whether drilling some holes in the case might improve things

[Q] Earpiece distortion

HI there guys.
Brand new to this forum.
I've searched for days and I'm unable to find a solution.
I'm experiencing a crackling or a distortion on phone calls at certain volumes. I noticed it with certain pitches in peoples voices it would cause a vibration in the ear speaker and some distortion in the sound. Kind of like the speaker is being over driven or has too much power going to it. It usually goes away if I turn the volume almost all the way down, but this is obviously not a practical option since I'm not always making phone calls in a dead silent room. The speaker phone works fine. This only happens when I'm using the earpiece. Is this normal? Is it related to the camera autofocus sensor rattle? Are the sound vibrations from a person's voice enough to set off the rattle? It's really annoying as I tend to make phone calls a lot and I don't like using speaker phone or a headset. Does anyone else have this problem?
From what I can tell, it happened and was normal in the S4. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2280930).
Please help. Im deciding if i need to return it.

It's too bad that you didn't describe it in more detail.. i.e. give us steps to replicate it. A recording of the distortion would have been helpful too. I haven't noticed what you describe but it sounds like the gain or auto gain is too high and your earpiece speaker is being overdriven.
There is a gain setting in the service mode menu but first you need to distinguish an app issue or possibly damaged speaker before messing around in the hidden settings. See if you can find an audio app that will give you a wider adjustment range for your system volume and gain.,

Thank you for the reply.
If you go into the service menu, the go into the low frequency test. At 100hz and 200 hz there is a little bit of buzz in the headset reciever unless you really push it against your face (which i assume kind of tightens the spaces in the plastic and prevents whatever vibration in the speaker is occuring).
Hmm.. the vibration is akin to as if you were speaking into some cellophane wrap; like some film (maybe for waterproofing) is covering the speaker.
Oh. It's also worth noting that I cannot replicate the issue on Skype or Viber. Those sound crystal clear.
Bump. Anyone?

Speaker Buzzing

Hey everyone,
My 6P seems to buzz like crazy when I play anything at max volume. Is this a defect? The speakers are still loud and clear but buzz like crazy when I'm around the last 2-3 notches of the volume slider. Obviously loud speakers can cause resonant vibrations but this seems kind of excessive and with everyone talking about how great the speaker quality is I can't help but think that some thing may be up. I'm coming from HTC One (M8) Boomsound speakers and my impression from the 6P's are that they really aren't that great.
I'm having similar issues. I notice it easily when changing ringtones or notification tones. I wonder if this a problem with a gain setting or a QA issues affecting a small number of phones. I'm on MDA89D build.
I had a buzzing speaker problem too then I looked at the EQ on my google music and for some reason it was set funny. I flattened out the EQ to take some bass out and now it doesn't buzz.
The problem actually occurred more with games rather than music. I RMA'd and things appear to be all good now.

Scratch sound on speaker with low volume

I didn't noticed this before, so I'm not sure if its due to the Nougat update or its just the "normal" way the speakers work.
I was watching youtube and the phone sounds ok when the volume is set above 40%, after that its to loud to notice the "scratch" sound I hear when the volume is really low (on speaker, not headphones).
Has anyone noticed that? I don't think is a big deal since it's rather unnoticeable in normal conditions but I wonder if it's just my phone or what.
Lower quality speaker. It is a budget phone after all.
You can download a sound equalizer and play with the frequencies a little to see if you can tone the frequencies down a little that are causing the distortion.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe its a budget phone, for me it's an expensive phone
I should point out that the only way to notice the scratch sound is by lowering the volume and placing the speaker close to the hear (I know, not healthy right?)

Dual speakers problem

My phone has a slight issue where on low volumes the earpiece speaker is clearly louder than the bottom one which isn't the case for my "old" 7 pro, and my overall audio level is lower. Have any of you guys had any issue with this? Please let me know otherwise I will probably return it and buy a new one because the speakers are a big deal for me. I also have the screen problem which isn't helping.
fixed
just downloaded a vpn and set my location to finland for the new software version and its fixed... My screen tint is a little better but not 100%, especially by the punch hole where i have a clear horizontal line.
