which should i choose for kernel update in odin?

What r you trying to do ?
If you got a kernel from xda then it's most likely a zip file and in that case you don't use odin. Zip files are flashed via recovery.

rooted phone, flash 4.4.2, questions

So I have a rooted Galaxy Note II with Android 4.3 and I want to flash Android 4.4.2. (I can't use OTA because I am rooted, it says your devices has been modified.......).
1. How to do that? I know that it's not the same procedure as if you have a nonrooted phone.
Someone told me I have to flash 4.3 with odin and then flash 4.4.2, is that true?
2 How about use triangleaway app to reset flashcounter and use OTA? or OTA will still not work?
3. How to flash 4.4.2 without removing root??
Download odin and flash the 4.4.2 package
And then download the root package and flash it..
And u are done
If u want ota.. U have to flash using odin and the modem of your country

about this:
""""""""""'
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes
"""""""""""""""
si I can install directly 4.4.2?
It is the correct procedure .. Just incase you are confused head over to the general forum and check for already posted threads on flashing
Happy flashing

You simply can't unflash, but you can flash stock rom via ODIN if you wish to overwrite the file you had flashed.

If you are on a custom rom with stock kernel just flash rom again, no wipe needed, if on official try or ask for somebody to ectract kernel from rom, next time make a backup vedere flashing or use app like synapse can help in back up only kernel

I have extracted boot.img from the stock rom i have installed on my S7, so if i use Flashify to install that boot.img, will i get back the stock kernel or also i am changing another thing? I am not sure if this boot.img is the kernel itself, i am reading many topics but no one is really clear.
The boot.img contains the kernel and ramdisk
according to this old guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443994
You can flash .img with TWRP too, just select "flash .img" option in install menu since I don't remember if flashify can flash image or boot file properly
Just try at your own risk

if this hasent been answered yet, the file that you got from TWRP is restorable... its just in a different file format.
you can rename it to boot.img or to Boot.bin
then create a TAR archive of the file ( I use peazip on win 7 to archive it)
then to flash it with download mode (ODIN) in the Ap section. it should pass...
if not, try Prince comsy odin, sometimes does the trick..
if still NO, then the image is bad, or inferior to the current (possibly updated more, bootloader, modem, etc)
hopes this helps others.
