Hi,
I just got an A500 for my mum, mainly for games and Chinese handwriting to surf Facebook. Suit her need but I am aware of an update 4.010.40 which is 376.99MB big. It always got stuck at some point and end up I have to redownload the whole update. My broadband is a weak 1Mbps (it's normal in my country!!), but I don't think that affects very much.
Anyway, I am here to ask for any possible alternative, a wired update? Or I just have to keep trying?
EDIT: It's unrooted.

Rename the file to "update.zip", place it on your external SD Card, turn off your tablet. Hold down volume up button while holding the power button until you see three lines of white writing on the screen, and then let the tablet update. Don't let up on the volume or power until you see the three lines of text on the screen.

Thanks a lot. Will try the OTA method a few more times. If it still fails, I'll do it this way.

If the file you asked for is the same as you're trying to download OTA, it's the same exact file, and will update you in the same manner that the OTA will.

Okay, I may sound annoying but no one wants to brick a 2-days old gadget.
You mentioned about decrypting it, why do you need to do so?

So you can update from your SD Card, but I think you should probably wait for your update OTA, given the questions you're asking, you may very well brick your tablet. I was just trying to help.

if you cant double click and open the zip file, then that mean it's decrypted
else you need to decrypt the file and then extract the update.zip contained inside the OTA file... many post about that try to search for simply... post from Vache about OTA files

I have a problem with Huawei Ideos x5 U8800. I cant find how to unroot phone, but I want to because I got some problems with screen & I will take it back to shop, hopefully they'll fix it. I got old version of android 2.2.1. I have used search button but I couldn't find anything, even my friend who is using this forum didn't find it. I'm really wondering if anyone from you guys could help me? I would be really thankfully.

Just put an official version on sd card in dload folder and start phone with vol +/- and power button pressed.
Most official version have pdf included with instructions.

To unroot:
Remove busybox with steriksons busybox installer and use es file explorer or root explorer to remove su from system/bin or system/xbin.

You must format your sd before putting dload there.

Try to power off the device, remove battery, connect it with pc via usb cable and then open it with the buttons compination.

Firstly if you are not already on the lastest Official 2.3.5 Final then update to it before trying

Those are steps I'd followed to root mine.
I had gone from 2.2.1 to 2.3.5 and now with Aurora 4.0.4 ROM.
Hi guys, Ive searched and searched, but couldnt find anything that worked for me, so I apologize if this has been answered before.
I attempted to root my GS6 Sprint phone, and something has gone wrong. When the phone reboots the touch screen doesnt work at all and it doesnt find any cell signals.
I flashed to S6-UniKernel_v6-0001-ODIN, the firmware on the phone at the time was 5.1.1.
I tried to flash back using G920PVPU1AOCF_G920PSPT1AOCF_G920PVPU1AOCF_HOME.tar. but I get "FAILED" every time.
So I tried to install twrp-2.8.7.1-zeroflte.img, and that seemed to install fine, but I cant reset because even in TWRP I have no use of my touch screen.
I am using the samsung cable, and it does go to the Downloading mode, but as soon as I click start it fails.
Anyone that can help me fix this I would gladly paypal the cost of a six pack. (Mods if this isnt allowed please let me know)
Okay so here is what fixed it for anyone else like me that is a noob, and does dumb stuff to their phone. You cant roll back to old firmwares. You have to flash to the latest firmware that was on the phone or newer. I found the updated firmware and its good to go.

Thanks for the reply Zooklok, I did use Odin, and I didnt change any settings.
So checked boxes under options are;
Auto Reboot
F. Reset Time
Thats all. I clicked "AP" to load the firmware, then clicked start.
Hello.. Assuming your phone is already rooted. Pls follow the below procedure
1. Restart and let the phone biot. Plug in your usb and insert a new for installation purpose
2. Hold and press power+up+home button to boot into recovery
3. Format and reflash the new rom
Should works like a charm

Okay so I grabbed the lastest ODIN and was able to go back to the stock recovery. I performed a wipe/factory reset, but it still wont let me use the touch screen! ARG! It didnt clear the new kernel. Could it be because Im flashing to an older firmware? I cant find 5.1.1 anywhere...

Is the a Galaxy s6 or a S6 edge+ of edge+ you've been flashing the wrong firmwares, which would explain the issues you're having
Try a different cable or usb port or redownload the firmware file as it may be corrupted.

Its the regular S6, not the edge. So the firmware is correct?

but i have no idea how to install it on my opx.
can i do it directly by extracting the package?

plz help me with a simpler solution..........i dont understand android deeply.

there is a update option in settings. just scroll down to the end, it's right there.
alternatively you can download the ROM from the h2os.com website and transfer it to your phone with USB cable. then reboot to recovery,(when phone is off hold power and vol down button, after it vibrates let go off power button) select the file and flash. easy as that.

You can try. But be carefull. You must know what you have to do. I dont want you to kill your phone because we have the same variant. [emoji4]
But really weird. My fomer h2os have system update option and you are not.

when I got my phone from China, I had prepared already a USB stick with oxygen OS ROM. I plugged it in and went to recovery after unboxing! I flashed OOS right away. it is the same with H2OS. don't worry^^

I understand that these resellers flash their own modified ROMs. just flash the original one and you'll be fine.
i found the following steps for OOS.....from oneplus forum.......is it okay? same for H2OS?
note: my microsd card is not shown on storage............but shown in file manager/ gallery.
will the procedure below okay with this??
1. Download OxygenOS
You have to download the last Full OxygenOS Rom available, you find it at the top of the thread
2. Put the file into MicroSD
Copy the file download into MicroSD with PC and insert into the OPX
3. Boot in Recovery Mode
Force Power Off holding the power button
Hold Power On + Volume Down to go to Recovery
Choose English
4. Install
Choose Install from SD Card
Select OxygenOS file .zip
Reboot after finish
yes. same procedure. just put the file in the main directory of your phone. not SD card. it is easier to find from recovery.

My storage recognises SD card!!
After all the new features are awesome so far.
But still.....no move to SD card feature for apps.
And some issues with Google account.... Which I m trying to figure out.
Plz share any tips, that will improve my phone performance.

what's the problem with google account?
I don't use it anymore but had no problems when I had it.
Okay .....here's what I m facing.....
Google search: works
Google drive: works
Play games: works
Google doc's: works
Google maps: works
Street view: works
Gmail: after launching, it disappears to background
Play store: shows an error...something like can't find server.
I tried clearing cache/data.....no luck.
When I tried to uninstall the play store updates.... It uninstalled the play store apk completely.
On account menu , I can't remove the Google account either!
I tried sign out/ add account....doesn't work .
which gapps did you flash? try the ones from opengapps . I used pico and never had problems.

and after reboot stucked on boot screen
i entered recovery i tried to copy the update file but when the process started it ended with a message no firmware found

SuperSU not support nougat(7.0).
You must now enter the recovery mode (volume + and power), connect the phone to the computer by usb, a disk will appear, copy the firmware and flash the phone.
On android 7+ you can not use supersu

I'm haven't windows and Mac, in Linux all fine. The file copied to the phone is temporary, it disappears after reboot

Use root from settings. Recovery is locked in pro6+ and not support custom recovery
