Hi guys!
I am attempting to use QPST manager to backup my EFS prior to root access because I'm paranoid about modifying without efs backup.
I believe the cause of the problem is that I have downloaded the I9506 new zealand 5.0.1 rom and installed it over the australia 4.4.2 rom, the reason being because USB connection was working before I updated to lollipop. My mum also has a recently purchased I9506 running 4.4.2 which connects to my pc without a problem. I have the latest samsung drivers and even installed kies, which doesn't even recognise my phone and says to install smart switch.
How can I get my pc to connect to the phone with RNDIS+DM+MODEM enabled?
Also, is there any way to get kies to recognise my S4?
Edit: Not sure how or if this may help but in the service mode app accessible from the dialer (*#9090#) my phone says DIAG CONFIG NOT SUPPORTED. How can this be fixed to be supported?
Thanks!

I have searched and tried a few things I found but with no luck. Makes me think the driver is screwed up. I have the US/Sprint tab if that makes any difference. I keep getting the Error Kies cannot connect and needs to be in PC Studio mode. Thx for any help.
make sure you havent enabled usb debugging mode and left it on
Some times restarting the tab fixes the kies connection problem.
FWIW, I wasted the better part of yesterday trying to get Kies to connect with no luck. Some of the remedies I tried were a utility to locate long file names on the Tab and installing a UK version of Kies.
I believe the general consensus is that for many of us, Kies is a POS. Since I can't get it to connect, I seem to be stymied in my attempt to regain root access until another fix comes along.
Have you used adb? Or odin? I have flashed 5 tabs and never used the kies program.
Have not tried those. Is there a link on how to use? I really want to get my Root back.
"Have you used adb? Or odin? I have flashed 5 tabs and never used the kies program."
Haven't tried adb, although I used it when I originally rooted my MotoDroid. However, I don't recall seeing anything for using it on the SGT.
I have a Sprint Tab, so I thought odin would not work on it.
Please note that the US version of the Tab are not currently supported by the full version of Kies. You can only use the mini version of Kies with the tabs to do firmware upgrades only. Also of note, I can connect and get Kies-mini to recognize my T-Mobile tab, but no firmware upgrades have been made available.
i wanted to know if i would be able to update my friends GM900F to the newly released Android 5.0 ROM without a computer.
Only reason im doing this is because for some strange reason his phone isnt being recognised but my S5 (GM900H) is. When pluged in it doesnt even say connected as media device on the phone itself. Tried doing all i could, reinstalling drivers and what not even using another laptop on windows 7, and yes USB Debugging is on
he really wants to flash the new ROM badly and doesnt want to wait for an OTA,
I was wondering if in theory i could get it to work by rooting his phone with towelroot, installing Mobile Odin and then flashing the Firmware?
if it fails and is soft bricked i dont know how to go about fixing it cause it just wont recognise the device at all or install drivers, but my S5 (GM900H) gets recognised fine.
Has anyone ever used Mobile Odin to flash a whole new firmware?
any tips
Wait for first custom Roms and flash via recovery. [emoji52]

Ok, so ages ago I fooled around with my GT-I9506 S4 and rooted it.
Then I 'unrooted' it or so I thought.
I went to install a tap and go bank payment app on my phone and it refused to install saying my device was rooted.
I ran Root Checker and it said my phone was not rooted.
I went in to system settings and hit update and it refused, saying 'your device has been modified'.
So I have several questions,
1. How do I well and truly unroot my phone?
I'm downloading a stock firmware from Sammobile, should I just use Odin and do a complete reinstall?
2. Or instead, I see Xposed http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer seemingly can help you defeat root detection when installing handy apps.
Thing is I've tried connecting my S4 to my Win 7 PC which has the lastest Samsung usb drivers installed but it won't detect so I can't transfer APKs.
Grrrrrr. Oh, and Kies doesn't work either. ****ing Samsung, I can't believe how badly supported their phones are.
Both options would work.

Could you tell us more on your phone. The version of firmware before, which root method you use, which stock version of firmware you install via odin, etc...
This might help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/guide-odin-to-stock-updating-rooting-t2926642
Hi guys,
I have a S8 plus with root and I tried to download the latest firmware in order to flash it but when I put the phone in download mode, it is no longer recognized by the computer or Odin. I have downloaded the drivers again, used a different port but with no use. I have 2 S8 plus, one without root witch works and connects with computer and this one with problems.
I tried flashing a custom ROM but again with no luck. The phone works just fine but Android auto is also not working just once in a while (strange) and I use it quite a lot.
Any ideas?
Device: G955F
Thanks in advance!
