the camera viewfinder / live view fps gets laggy so it can use slower shutter speeds

You can control shutterspeed with the exposureslider. -12 means to use fast possible shutter. +12 drops shutter to slowest possible shutter.
Its does not affect stock camera because it use zsl by default.

no not with current control, because its locked somewhere to 1sec. but you can shoot on all iso modes up to one sec.
also its not realy usefull because its direct applied to preview. if you would set it to 30sec the preview is updated each 30 sec :cyclops:
I'm sorry to be bumping an old thread, but can you please clarify the process for me? replaced the files different ways, setted permissions right, experimented with different camera apps, different FreeDCam versions and I'm still stuck with with max 1/9 exposure times (preview won't get laggy either so it's not a EXIF data bug). Thanks in advance.

Hi, I was having a play with one earlier - and it appeared that when you take a picture there is no way within the app to see the picture you just took? You have to exit out and go into gallery?
Is there a way around this? Ta
There is an list of latest taken photos on right side... You can even expand it & then it shows all files in image-folder...
Take a look:

Thanks, I thought it strange there was no way to do this. Buy the model I was playing with (three uk branded) definatly didn't have it - must be different rom versions?
Thanks anyway
Remember that you can flash a normal non-messed up rom from the dev section,
like my orange uk version, is now a on the global rom minus the orange bloatware

If you swipe the thumbnails to the right, they will disappear... if you swipe from the very right edge of the screen toward the centre.. they will come back!... same with the menus on the other side (but in reverse!)
Is it possible to remove compression from our phone? Try to take a picture and the size only around 700kb when i use 8mp setting.
you can use vignette off the market - but in the tests I've done it doesn't really improve the image quality very much at all.. and actually in some shots I preferred the stock camera's results.
yeah, i like the result of the stock camera apps. But when i transfer the file to my PC and zoom it, the quality still not too good because of the compression. that is why i'm trying to remove the compression.
Wait for my MOD once we get root

To press camera button and take 3-5 pictures in a row...

Use a file explorer. In system writeable mode : go to system/media/audio/ui
You will see the name of the sound : shutter.ogg , change the name shutter into something else.
( only when rooted)
Let me know if it worked.

Glad you got it working. US variant stock option works fine.

To my knowledge turning off shutter sound is illegal in some countries. Mainly due to the flip phone up skirt pic issue in the East.
How do you turn off the camera sound in burst mode?
I tried changing the name for shutter multiple and camera click but neither worked.

In particular the "Superior Auto" mode of our Z3s sucks. With "Manual" it is fixable to some extend, but I feel it's a lot of work and usually you just want to point and shoot (like you can with e.g. an iPhone btw. - my previous iPhone 5s made excellent pics in no time).
So here comes a solution and it might sound surprising: Use VSCO Cam! I did not expect this at all but in my opinion it takes waaay better pics than "Superior Auto". You still can't zoom in and expect a lot of detail, but I like how they come out nevertheless. Here are some samples :

One downside of using VSCO as a default camera is that it does not save to gallery by default and there seems to be no option (yet) to change that in settings. So you have to click on the images and "export" them to gallery. On iOS you actually can change it so it saves to gallery by default - I hope they will offer that on Android soon too.

Nice app, thx
VSCO definitely takes better pictures in my opinion. Here's a comparison below, the top picture is the stock camera on manual mode and the one below it is VSCO with default settings.

Untill i was using MIUI everything was fine but after I flashed lineage OS 14.1 camera quality is decreased but still it was fine. Then i tried different gcam mods and flashed a couple of zip files in hope that camera will became better but it's quality is totally low now. Even i reverted back to MIUI to see if that fix the issue but still its persisting. I have tried Miui Stock Camera, Bacon Camera, Open Camera all having the same issue.
About Issue : On taking a picture from distance it becomes blurry the more I increase distance more it will become blurry. Picture starts to blurr after moving the camera away more than 30cm (i know it's hard to believe)
Check the screen shots and plzzz help me...

Yes your camera isnt using focus just flash some zip files for focus and it will work again thats the cameras focus problem
It happened with me, i had to disassemble my mobile and adjust camera module a bit to get the focus right.
Follow this guide on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcLhQtdzY4A, its not for our device but you can have a loot at it for a reference.

I just received and set up 2 of these and am experiencing this occasionally on both of them. It is happening when using Kodi v19.4 (Arm64).
I found if you turn off Hardware Acceleration in the Player Section of Kodi it will play correctly
Yeah I have this box too, its hardware decoder for HEVC is definitely buggy. Some videos are totally garbage, some get a sequence of frames repeated over and over. Turning off hardware acceleration works, but only for 1080P. If it's a 4K video, the CPU isn't fast enough to decode on its own.
The devs of the box told me it doesn't support Dolby Vision, that is the culprate. They didn't appear to be interested in fixing the firmware. I am curious if this is a 3588SoC / ARM Mali-G610 MP4 issue.
I haven't been able to get any answers from other devs using these chipsets in their devices to know if it is only this device or all of them? If it is only this one, I would love to find a custom firmware that allows the Dolby Vision to play correctly
Hello I have a h96 max v58 does somebody have a android 9 android 10 firmware?
HDR, no working. Why?.
The problem is with videos using the '10BIT-SDR-BT.709' format.
-> 10 bits per pixel, standard dynamic range, matrix: BT.709'
Green stripes appear here during playback.
Videos with '10BIT-HDR-BT.2020' work -> HDR10
For example, if you disable hardware-decoding in Kodi, it works.
