So I downloaded http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/56586/N910FXXU1COI3_N910FPHN1COI1_PHN/ twice now for my Note 4.
The first time I got an extraction error.
So I downloaded it again (for 2 painful hours), and I got this

error while selecting the AP in Odin (not starting anything yet), after taking like a minute to load it.
I don't even know what it says. What to do?
edit: after re-unzipping a couple times, it seemed to finally work. I don't even know anymore...

Hi! I have got a Samsung galaxy s5, locked in retail mode. And at first I didn't mind, But then I've rerealised that I can barely use the phone and this annoying video pops up as soon as I lock the phone. So I started to try to fix it. I've used this "philz" thing (I later realised that it would only take me to another recovery boot screen. Any way to remove it?) , and I've used the admin code in the Samsung retail app to deactivate the factory reset. And then I tried flashing with Odin. It was the first time I ever did that, so I didn't really know what to do. I got my phone into download mode, and that blue box in Odin, well, turned blue. And then I dodownloadeddownloaded the firmware from sammobile.com. I downloaded it for SM-G900F. I understood that that's probably the version I should use, because I live in Europe. Btw, the phone is made in Korea, and has probably never been used in a cellular net before, if that can affect which firmware I should download? Anyway, I picked the MD5 file and then Odin were freezing in a couple of minutes. But later it worked, for a bit. It says "setup connection" and then it says "Write operation failed" and then "All threads done. ( 1 failed / 0 succeeded ). This is how far as I can go. What should I do? I must do something wrong, but I really want to figure this out! Thanks!
Are you sure the phone is a G900F, since you say it's from Korea, it may be a K, L, or S model, in which case the F firmware is probably the wrong one.
Hi
I today tried to flash my S5 using this Firmware: -
http://click.xda-developers.com/api... | Samsung Galaxy S 5 | XDA Forums&txt=MegaNZ This is the firmware in the 2nd post on the "[SM-G900F] S5 Firmware Thread "
This is the Official Stock Rom for my device and was under the impression it was not country specific.
I had Lollipop installed already from when it was first released and as always used Odin (3.09 in this instance) to flash. It flashed without problem. I have just been away for 2 weeks and in the meantime, my wife flashed her S5 through Wifi after getting popups reminding her to do so. She had no difficulty upgrading from KitKat to Lollipop either.
However a massive PITA for me was that I could not mute the volume as easily as I could with KitKat and when my wife showed me she could do it, after her upgrade, I simply had to upgrade, her version being the same as the one quoted above.
So this morning I downloaded the file and proceeded to flash (again using Odin 3.09). It got all the way but at the end, just before writing, I got "Fail" - it had completely failed and I was stuck in the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." screen." I had never seen this before and thought I'd bricked my phone.
After searching in vain for a solution on this forum, I got nowhere fast. However I wondered if I could take the battery out, replace it to a blank screen and try going into "download mode" once more.
I could indeed! So I then downloaded the same file (I presumed) from Sammobile, to see if I could start over. It worked!!!! And more importantly, I too can mute my phone's volume - Happy Days !!!
But it seems (and from Googling) some of your firmware files are corrupt. Not my PC as I checked the file before using it to ensure it was binary correct.
So I am reporting this officially because I can see no other threads on this subject - maybe in a specific post but not, that I can see, in a specific thread.
I have been a member here for some years and never had an issue like this - your firmwares have been always ok until now. They are faster to download which is why I use them. The Sammobile file took 2 hours to download on their free service but it was fine, unlike the one above.
Any thoughts ?

Bought a 'new" Note 4 and right of the bat, I rooted the phone, flashed a custom rom, followed instructions one by one, last time I did this was 2 years ago. Everything was great, but wasn't able to call or text on a Sprint network, but had LTE/3G data.
I downloaded the stock firmware from SamMobile, cant flash it with Odin, it crashes right away with some error "BEX". So, copying the firmware to my sd card and installing it thru TWRP or PhilzTouch, instantly crashes, says install aborted and when it reboots, the Samsung powered by android is displayed and than keeps re-booting about every 10 seconds.
At this point, I at least want the phone to run stock. But is much harder than I thought it would be. IS there something im missing or not doing right?
So I bricked it good.
This isn't working.

I successfully went from 14b to 12a, started the root and ended up getting stuck at a static screen, after wiping with twrp and rebooting. Followed some steps to hopefully eliminate the static but in doing so I was at 30 mins no boot. (3 times) I decided why not start over and went to flash the 12a kdz again, and now everything I do gets me back into "Firmware Update" I can get to stock recovery, which doesn't make sense as I had TWRP, flashed.
Every option in the stock recovery, sends me back to the "firmware update screen" I've tried countless times to kdz flash with LGUP, everything is detected no issues, just fails usually at 11-13%
Here's a picture of LGUP errors

I was thinking of trying to use either 13a or 14b kdz but I've hit my download limit for the day from the site (its 2 by the way) the 14b download failed as my internet kicked out.
I have the 12a .kdz, and a 12a.dz and the ability to extra the .dll (that method also didnt work) I've got to missing something here. I've had the phone for 4 days and its a paper weight now. (A free paper weight but that doesn't make it any better)
Please help... thank you
I have used lg up twice months ago. Never had any issues with it. Try running it as admin.

I'm running uppercut as admin to no avail. Do you think because its on 12a, and I'm trying to flash 12a?
Edit :
Apparently you cant flash the same kdz, as the version youre on. The14b finally finished downloading anmd it worked first time. This can get closed now. Thanks!
Hi Guys, first time poster here but I've read the forums for ages (years ago rooted and wiped a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 international and it worked beautifully). I've recently been given the above Tablet and wanted to try to update it to a newer OS. The idea is to breathe some life into the device and possibly use it as a fancier Plex remote to use with my new google home setup.
In my haste I may have gotten to trigger happy trying to root the device and tried 3-4 .tar files not actually getting them to load right through Odin3 V1.85 I finally managed to get into CWM Recovery at boot. I noted my install count or whatever its called has now gone up to 4 (through my multiple attempts to install).
When I tried to reboot, the tablet initially made the right sound and the Samsung logo appeared to be loading with the blue circle but then just seemed to hang on the next boot page with the Samsung logo pulsing (blue behind it). I tried rebooting the device multiple times but it doesn't seem like it wants to progress.
As such I looked everywhere trying to find the the original stock files to PDA, PHONE, CSC, as I was accustom in doing this with phones but I can't find the files anywhere on here.... they're all zip files and I've tried a number to only get an Error 7 (something to the effect that it can't load the zip files....
One post here sent me to Sammobile, I tried to setup an account but couldn't locate a download link of the following:
It said the PDA file is supposed to be this: P5113UEUCMK3 and the CSC: P5113XACCND2
I searched here to no avail trying to find the files to reset my device.... HELP!
Cheers,
R
