I question about flashing and switching factory images - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I just got the nexus player and just had a few questions can you flash your nexus player and use any of nexus player factory images? Meaning I am on 5.1.1 know and I want to try 6.0 if I flash my nexus player and use 6.0 factory image to go to 6.0 and I find out I do not like it can I use the same method to go back to 5.1.1 ? Or even go to one of the lower nexus player factory images?

Yes.

stock jro03c kernel

Hi I have tried out a custom kernel and now I would like to return to stock.
I got the stock jro03c rom on my device but I have only managed to find the "stock-jrn84d-nexus7-kernel.zip" in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775798
If its the same as the jro03c kernel I might as well use that. I just want back to stock so I can get my OTA´s like normal.
Hi,
The best way to go back to stock kernel is to download stock rom, extract files then go into fastboot/bootloader mode and type :
./fastboot flash boot boot.img
This will reflash the stock kernel

You could also use the Nexus 7 toolkit to restore to the stock ROM.

Stock Nexus 4 Images

Hello,
Google pulled the stock nexus 4 images from the developers website for some reason. Where can I find the latest nexus 4 stock image to flash it?
Thanks

nexus 4 failure to recognize Sim, camera does not work after 4.3 preview

i have a nexus 4 and i by mistake download the 4.3 preview at some site and now it dosent open my Camera and not recognize
my sim card
Did you make a nandroid back up before you mistakenly flashed it?
Try a proper ROM and if one of them doesn't work flash it back to stock and start over.
Stock Image Here
At some site? Lol good luck with that. Doesn't look like a mistake; more like *oh I couldn't resist waiting*.

[Q] How to Update a rooted Nexus 4

Hi. I'm running a nexus 4 at 4.3 jellybean. I want to update to 4.4 kitkat. My device is rooted and I'm afraid if I do an OTA I might brick my device. How do I update my rooted nexus 4. Thanks.
Are you using stock or custom ROM?

Im assuming that you are on JWR66Y build number. If that is true download this and flash via recovery.
Flashing 4.4
I have a Nexus 4 on 4.3, JWR66Y running Purity build 8/26/13.
I'm wondering which file I should use to flash the new 4.4 to my phone. I thought I was suppose to use a factory image to flash fresh into a new google image, but each time I used SkipSoft Toolkit, it never was able to flash the system.img. It would say 'error: cannot load system.img' or something and the entire flashing process would end ubruptly.
Am I not flashing the right image? Should I go to stock then do the OTA update? What do you suggest as I'm not very skilled in teh nexus hacking :cyclops:

New lollipop bootloader twrp flashable?

I'm currently running a rooted kitkat based custom rom (purity). I'll eventually want to run a custom lollipop based rom once the dust settles a bit, but don't want to revert back to stock for the ota, and don't want to manually flash a stock 5.0 rom either.
Since I'll need the new bootloader eventually, is there a twrp flashable file for the new bootloader available which I can flash now in preparation for future 5.0 based roms?
Don't have a decent usable pc handy, so if I could do everything straight from the manta itself that would be great.
(crap, wrong forum, sorry)
I haven't seen one, but if you download the image you should be able to use flashify. I have not tested though, so be careful.

Do you have to update the bootloader from kitkat

I'm looking for a flashable zip too! I had problems using flashify and my Mac doesn't detect my N10 in fastboot mode
