I've noticed that my Note 4 generally has worse reception than my old Note 3 when compared in the same location on the same network.
Image below is in one location, at the same time.

This is typical of any location with a low signal. The Note 3 hangs onto the weak signal far better than the Note 4. I'd say 90% of the time it's like this, and 10% of the time the Note 4 will have a better signal than the Note 3.
And one from a moving car, showing the Note 3 signal recovering after a dead spot when the Note 4 just loses all signal. This happened several times on a 2.5 hour drive.
Another from a moving car, showing the Note 4 signal suddenly dropping when the Note 3 doesn't.
The phone has been back to Samsung twice and they claim it passes their diagnostic checks, so there is nothing wrong with it, and refuse to do anything about it.
Is my phone faulty, or does the Note 4 just have bad reception compared to the Note 3?
Thanks

I'm in no means an expert, so was hoping one of you could explain the following scores between the AT&T note 3 and AT&T G2. I currently have both in front of me. I rebooted both, waited a minute and ran both Antutu and quadrant. To my surprise, the G2 seems to significantly score higher than the Note 3. I'm trying to decide between the two. I like both and would prefer the Note 3. Is there any explanation on the scores? Any concern? Should I try another Note 3? Both have the same apps installed, plus AT&T bloatware frozen. Thanks all

Galaxy 5 continues to eat battery. Android operating system. The fix I tried didn't work. Obviously samsung dropped the ball on the Galaxy 5.

What's your signal strength like? If the G5 is like any other phone a low signal can really eat through the battery because the radio transmitter has to constantly transmit at full power to hit the tower. Try using Wi-Fi if you aren't already doing so and see if that helps.
Hi guys,
I'm using the Google Play Edition ROM for some weeks now and noticed something strange.
I have one of the best ISP's in my country (Belgium) which has almost everywhere 3G and on the most places even 4G. In the past I had very good 4G signal almost everywhere with my HTC One but with the Galaxy it's always stuck to 'E' and very occationally I get 'H' or 'H+'. But let's say for the most part, like 90% of the time, I only manage to receive 'E'...
The specific ROM:

}
As I'm not allowed to post in the development thread itself, I thought I could ask it here...
I already tried setting different connection types:
but none seem to work like it should. Or they work but I keep being stuck in 'E' mode...
EDIT:
I also tried using the 2 different kernels, but no change.
Another thing I noticed, when I'm on the phone with somebody I can hear them clearly but they all say my connection get's disrupted and they can't hear me (or not clearly) but the connection stays present.
Thanks!
So I have been having battery issues on my Note 3 for a while now. Android system has been a large offender of using my battery, but I've also noticed that there are gaps in my mobile network signal. From this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26891039&postcount=14 I'm gathering that my radio is off? This happens when screen is on, but mostly when it's off. During these times I can get texts, and everything works fine. Just my battery starts to drain faster. The area under my camera also gets rather hot. This is my 2nd Note 3 with this issue, the first one was RMAed because it would not get messages on time.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Running Jasmine ROM 2.4.1.

I believe with your radio off you should drain less battery. Mine does it too, and I have awesome battery life without being rooted. Usually well over 24 hours with heavy use, and 6 hours or more on screen time. I recently did a factory reset so maybe that's what you need for better life?

Hey guys, I have just bought a Note 4 (N910G) and I still have my Note 3 (N9005). I don't feel like selling it as its value has really dropped from ($900) to like ($380) AUD. I don't feel like I'd get that much for it and also it is still in a new condition which had given me no issues.
The N910G doesn't have as much development as the N910F at the moment compared to the N9005 getting so much development as back then there weren't "regioned devices". The Note 4 and Note 3 are giving me the same performance pretty much (other than in Antutu scores) where I get 45000 on my Note 3 and get 53000 on my Note 4. I'm not sure if I should return my Note 4 (still in satisfaction warranty) or stay with the Note 4 and hopefully Samsung will do something awesome for the Note 4 so I stay with it like getting the new Touchwiz UI. If I had known the Note 4 was pretty much new software and an "enhanced" chip I wouldn't have purchased it.
Sorry for the long post, here is a picture of a potato:
