I bought this phone used but it looks like new (no scratches, scuffs or anything really). After using it for 2 days I plugged it a micro usb 2 (I don't have the usb 3 coord) to charge the device.
I was using a 2A charger (the one from LG G2) and I noticed it took almost 3 hours to charge from 40% to 100%, isn't that too long?
I also have problems connecting it to my PC since it is always connecting and disconnecting (my Galaxy Nexus also does that but has no problems while charging and it's not too agressive in the pc part so I am not sure if it is from the phone or from the pc).
I've tested with various usb cords... same result
Here's a picture of the port, is everything alright here?

looks everything all right. Have you tried using other cables or even another charger, i mean, just for tests purposes?

yes, I've mentioned that in the main post. Does your phone take 4 hours to charge from 0-100?
Need to use usb3 cable. There is difference in charging time. I used to try using note 1 cable but with note 3 charger, charging took about 5hrs+.
Typically my phone took 2.5hrs to complete charge from 0. Even i'm now using my wife's S6 charger(i swap with hers because i read bad review of fast charging with S6) but with my note 3 cable, it took about the same amount of time.

Honestly speaking I am not too sure whether the left side of the port is all right!
Anyway, a good think cable should give you needed results. And no, no need for the USB 3.0 cable of Note 3 only, I am using a rather cheap cable and it outputs same rate as the Note 3's stock cable. Make sure the charging adapter is okay though, probably trt a different adapter if different cables aren't working?
Charging time for Note 3 is, 0 to 90 is about 100-105 minutes, and 90-100 takes quite a long, haven't measured but its around 20-25 minutes I think. Total charging process should not exceed 2-2½ hours anyway.
Hi i had same problem.. Use galaxy charge app in play store.. It should be show between 1200 to 1800 value.. If not its a problem.. I change my usb 3.0 cable now its k.. Hope this will help

Yeah, that was my first thought, but how to do it correctly ? I got an classic Nokia charger
Have you considered the voltages? USB use ~5volts, AA batteries use 1.5volts.
It should be possible to cut open pretty much any old USB cable, but I would strongly recommend you DON'T unless you know what you're doing. I'm no expert, and I sure don't want you to ruin your battery/phone/'puter based on my advice
you could cut an USB cable: the red cable is +5v and the black is ground and plug them on the battery
I agree with Droidjens, basicaly look at the charger's and batery infos. As long as the stats are the same there will be no problem.
vote for Micro USB cable. its right, almost every Micro USB cable compatible with X8

the red one should go on the middle(2nd) pin on the battery, right?
Guys, i found how to charge it, thanks a lot
Nexus 10 is a great tab but some people tell it take long time to charging
How much time to charge With Magnetic pogo charge and usb
Some people tell me 0 _ 100 7 to 8 hours full charge
It is true or not
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
with a slow USB charger 6hrs + is quite possible but get the Pogo connector on the original charger and it can be pretty quick considering the size of the battery. the graph is on charge with the Pogo, I rarely charge on USB since getting that.

I can't comment on the exact time it takes to charge with the stock charger, however when I plug mine in at night it is always 100% in the morning. I don't have a pogo charger. I've never not been able to make it through a day on a single charge.

Here are my results. On the stock charger for every 10% of discharge it takes 39 minutes. So if you were to start charging from 10% at 39 minutes per 10% it would take you 351 minutes or 5.85 hours. And that is leaving screen to auto brightness. If brightness is at any different setting it will, and I mean it will take much longer. Even when its in sleep.
I love the tablet. Have had many brands. And have had a lot of Samsung devices also. But seems to me the bigger Samsung makes there products. The worse the battery life gets. That includes SGS3 and 4. "Google. Glad to see you open up to other manufacturers. Samsung just can't cut it anymore".
Hi
I'm using N9005 model, and the car charger is Scosche 2.1A, using simple micro usb 2.0 cable. It charges only about 30% per hour. I tried the usb 3.0 cable but i don't think it helped. It shows "charging AC" but still slow charging. Anyone knows what's the reson for that slow charging?
Thanks
Try another charger I doubt it is a phone problem

simple car will never charge that fast i have a proper sammy car charger that is about 30% a hour ,so dont worry about it
Besides, 30%/hour isn't bad...
I've been connected to a pc that didn't do 20% over 4 hours so I don't know what you're complaining about...
Most of the above replies are false.
I have a Kingston dual usb car charger that gives me from 900 to 1,100 mAh (using Galaxy charging current app). But it's been 850 to 1,000 majority of the time.
I'm not happy though, because it's rated at 2.1A per usb slot.
Yes , it says that right the specs.
Home Charger gives me 1,100.

I use an Anker 24w dual from amazon and stock cable, works great
That's why i only use a original Samsung charger.
I use a car charger for Tab / Note 10.1 with 2A and have the same charging power how the home charger (230 Volt)

Buy it only in a shop, or in original Box.

Do keep in mind - wall charger gives out 5.3V, if the car adapter doesn't, then you have a problem.
I have the white portable charger that came as a gift with my purchase of Note 3 (it's an original Samsung accessory). It used to work just fine, charging quite quickly. However, now, it charges extremely slowly. If I use my phone while charging, it either won't charge or will drain slowly.
I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue (my phone, the battery) or software (ROM/kernel). IIRC, when it worked, I was on Omega ROM. Now I'm on CM11.
Also, I lent my friends the charger and it worked just fine on their smaller phones.
It happened to me too a few times. The phone would charge very slow when plugged into the wall charger.
Then just yesterday i found out that obviously sometimes when i plugged in the wall charger, the phone would recognize it as a usb connection. So therefore it was charging slower. I then had to reconnect the charger and all was fine.
I now installed Battery Widget from the Play Store which shows to what you are connected when charging, AC or USB. And it has a nice charging animation too.
Just sayin', as this might not help you.

Hm, it's only 1.8Ampere.... That's a little weak.
Did you check for any running apps draining the battery whilst using it?
I charge my Note 3 with my aSolar Xstorm 15600mah every night(2.1Ampere). The only times it charged slowly was when I had left an app running (usually 9gag) and/or suffered a wakelock.

I will, looks great, thanks!
Out of curiosity, how did you know about this? There seems to be so many useful utilities out there, how do I explore them all?
Update: Ah.. the battery pack was giving me only 300mA. No wonder.

Change the charging cable.. This probably the real reason why you got only 300mA charging current..
If you are using the charger that came with the phone, I wouldn't be surprised, they are crap. I have seen this problem with my note 3 and two other galaxy s3 in my family. I think that's Samsung wanting to make extra money selling additional chargers.

Can someone please explain to me the full capacity of the LGV 23 capabilities . Specifically how much maximum input of Watts can you get with charging. I know that charger that comes with it is 18 W but would you be able to use up to 24 W or how does that work?
Also can someone please explain why the Samsung charger I have does not charge my LGVu 23 it has a charging symbol at the top when I connected but it's losing power as it's plugged in the specifications are 9 V DC 1.67a 5V DC 2.0a
Thanks

What device are you referring to? This is the LG V20 forum, but you said Vu23 and V23. I haven't had any problems using Samsung chargers with either or our V20's. Have you tried a different cable? Are you using the original cable?

Sorry it's an lg v20. I'm just using that Inge as a backup charger. Yes I've used the one it comes with and works fine.
The wattage is on the phone end. If the charger can put out 18 watts, the phone will take 18 watts. It will only draw that much during peak charging, and taper off as the phone reaches full charge. I don't think there's any advantage to using a higher rated charger than what came with the phone. The battery circuit will only draw so much, to keep from overheating.
There's not much to troubleshoot. Try a different cable. Try a different charger. Try a different phone. Go into Settings>Battery and Power and see if it's showing that it's charging. There aren't any other settings.
