Hello,
I have my Nexus 4 now installed with the latest release of the CM12.1.
Attached I have some screenshots from one day battery life.

But I never used the radio so much. In the evening it dropped from 30% to 11% in around an hour.
My question is is the amount of Alarm wakeups normal? Those are 2.3/minute with the com.google.android.gms service.
Seems a little high for me.
I have no clue what service could take and generate the wakeups so much.
Thanks a lot for any help I can get.
best regards,
Mark
Try a different GApps package? I use this one: http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=banks&device=gapps
Can I simply install the package via twrp over my existing one or do I need to delete everything again?
You can but is alwyas better (at least IMO).
If you are with relatively fresh new install, always do the full wipe ecc.
Is just the hussle of 20 min and the initial credential....trust me this is nothing compared to wipe 10\15 roms in a day to try to fix it device and everyone has a problem that u don't like.
This is the good and bad part about Android. ^_^

To install a new GApps package, wipe system, cache, and dalvik, dirty flash your ROM, flash new GApps and wipe cache and dalvik again.
Hello again,
I installed now the mentioned gapps package.
Attached the batter performance for today..
BBS Stats File
Yesterday I was all the day home with WLAN coverage and I had ~40% left at 10pm with the same disconnect at around 6am.
So it must be someting with the 3G module. Also when you use the 3G actively it gets very fast warm on the back of the phone.
I have replugged it now with 17% at 5.30pm to recharge.
Any suggestions for me ?? Please
Try using Greenify to stop wakelocks. It's worth a try.

Not sure what the cause is, just got my 7 yesterday.. stock rooted, aokp, doesn't make a difference- dropbox doesn't work and just gives the error "Storage full or unavailable"..
Doing a search, the only thread that mentioned it was "[ROM]| Glazed JellyBean|Version 1.1.2|Glazed Mods|Custom Animations|Speed|" and it had to do with an error in the rom, not my issue.
I've tried reinstalling the app, factory reset, flashing aokp(from stock rooted)- none have had a working dropbox, but I can't find any other posts that others have had the same issue.
I also have a few error 492 when downloading a few apps from market(like dead trigger), not sure if it is related..
Is dropbox looking for an external SD?
And "Protect usb storage" is NOT checked in developer options, just in case someone asks.
All I did was unlock bootloader, root.. nothing that should keep dropbox from working.
Although Im on stock but unlocked bootloader and rooted i have had the play store error and i just restarted and it worked fine since, dropbox i cant help mine logs in fine and i can use it perfect

My issue seems to be more than just drop box.. stock gallery app closes immediately after showing this:

As I said, pretty sure I didn't do anything to cause this.. I'm assuming there's a way to flash the original software that will repartition the device(like flashing HTC phones with ruu, or Samsung with Odin)?
I haven't had a lot of time to look into these things since o got it yesterday, so if anyone has a quick possible solution is appreciate it!
Edit: I'd like to know if this process([Guide] Returning to Stock and/or Unbricking your device) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1781250 actually repartitions everything.. but I decided to go trade this one out for another one rather than beat my head on a wall with an issue no one else appears to have. Still worth finding out.

I spent the last 3 years on an iphone so I'm a bit rusty as far as Android. The last time I rooted an Android, it had a regular sd card. Since this phone mounts its files as basically a virtual sdcard, I'm wondering if flashing a rom will wipe all that data as well. In other words, should I back everything up first. Maybe that's a dumb question, I should back up no matter what....but I'm still curious.
Thanks!
Hi jedthehumanoid,
Your thread was moved from the development section to Q&A. Please do not post questions in the development section in future. I have also edited your post removing the first paragraph which asks for a "best" ROM. There is no best ROM/Kernel, head over to the development section and try them out to see which "best" suits you.

Wiping data/factory reset (which is what is required when flashing roms) will not erase your sd card contents. In other words, pictures, downloads, and stuff like that will remain. But you should always do a nandroid backup of your system so you can return to a working state should something get borked. Your apps will get erased. Consider using the Titanium Backup app to backup those.
Do not push this button because that WILL delete your SD card contents. Simply swipe the slider to wipe data/factory reset.

Hello,
Galaxy S2 running AOSP rom have a battery bug since Android 4.4 (CM11, PA...)
The battery level loses ~20% from ~49% after normal reboot without charging.
Note that there is no issue after a soft reboot.
Ok, maybe you know that.
So, here a little trick to avoid this annoying battery bug :
Always do a soft reboot instead of normal reboot from the power menu :
With the xposed module APM+, modify the power menu to remove the normal reboot and add the soft reboot.

This issue is specific to S2 running Android 4.4 AOSP rom (CM11, slimkat...).
The battery level loses about 20% only if not charging and only if battery level was between about 49%-39%.
It's an old issue and it's relative famous from the users.
.
Buf, I had this problem with my old HTC Aria and with the S2 with every kind of ROM. I think it's just hardware. And only happens to me if the phone was being heavily used at the moment of the restart. And after restarted, sometimes the 1% would last for way more than it should and others the phone would turn off at 3%. I guess is just the battery monitor hardware being way off in different cases.
And it may be just me but I feel that a soft reboot is akin to set the PC to sleep and then wake it up. Ie, a real good reboot is needed when things start behaving weirdly.
Hello
It was suggested on another forum to alleviate audio video sync issues across multiple apps you should wipe your system cache. I am running lollipop 5.0.2 rooted.
Anyways I did the system cache clear through recovery and when I rebooted my phone the sprint screen hung for a minute then a black screen appeared followed by numerous prompts stating that various services were stopped.
I keep pressing okay to each prompt and another one follows. It seems like the service / app is trying to start but cannot. I am left with a black screen that continues to pop up these dead services.
Has anyone experienced this? I thought a system cache clear was harmless. What can I do so I do not lose my data.
Please help I need this stupid thing for work.
Thank you

Have you tried doing it again? Was it in stock recovery? What option did you press? Video lag fix is in my OD2 mods thread in Themes & Apps.

Geniuses,
I've been trying to get Magisk Manager 23 running on my S8 and can't seem to figure out what's going wrong. I've installed the Oreo (8.0) stock ROMS with Odin and successfully rooted the phone using Magisk both with and without TWRP. Root works and even SafetyNet checks pass, but the Manager will not come up, it just stays stuck at the Home screen as if I have yet to install it. I should mention, any version of Magisk prior to 19 seems to work fine, but I need some of the plug-in features from 21+

I'm an idiot! =)
What happened? How did you resolve it?
There is no worse thing on the internet than people posting, "oops fixed it" without them telling how they did it!

Bottom line is it's working fine. topjohnwu's installation instructions are not clear if you haven't been keeping up with each release, but this is how it works now...see the little floating menu of icons on the bottom of the third screen I posted...thats how you get to everything I thought was missing.
