I noticed that the new device has some issues in maintaining a stable Wifi Connection when Mobile Data is enabled too (what usually the case)
During browsing the web pages stop loading images and then all content or emails do not get delivered or sent. The devices remains in that state for a few minutes
until I completely restart the application. It does not happen every time but more frequently to be a coincident. The behaviour disappears when I disable Mobile Data..
The issue does not occur on Mobile Data alone, only if both Wireless services are enabled at the same time.

Hi
I have the O2-Germany touch dual and there is one annoying thing: my internet permanently disconnects even though i have for example skype running.
i changed the cache time in registry. but this only changes, that i can chat for a longer time now. but after this cache time my device disconnects. how to prevent a disconnection when some application uses the internet?
Hello everyone,
As the title says, my N4 occasionally loses mobile data connection, most of them happen after a wifi switching back and fort. When the connection gone, i always went to Mobile network setting to ensure that Mobile data option is checked.
The problem can only be solved after a reboot.
It's quite annoying because i'm using a Tasker profile that use mobile data to determine current location in order to toggle wifi on my favor. When it goes off, nothing can happen and i have to do all that switching stuff myself, then lead Taskers' automatic abilities to nonsence
So is there anybody has this issue and how to fix that?
I'm using Xenon 7, Franco kernel
Thank you
Hi,
I just started my vacation in Spain but I've run into a problem with my cell. Upon arrival I notice that the phone won't connect to mobile data. Both mobile data and roaming is turned on, and it gives me the message of loosing the data connection if I turn it off, but I don't get any connection. What's even more weird is that I can't connect to WiFi either. All other devices here manages to but not mine. When connecting to the router it reads Connecting... but it stops and the access point reads Saved, secured with WPA/WPA2. Now and then I also get the popup notifying me that there are available networks to add to my annoyance.
Does anyone know what the heck is going on? Back in Norway both mobile data and Wifi worked flawlessly. I'm running RB 4.0 on a Samsung s3 (i9300)
I'm running the official BTU 4.3 release on my I9505
I've noticed two issues with 4.3
a) Wifi
From time to time, perhaps daily, my phone loses connection to my home wifi. I get a notification which says something about being disconnected -- don't remember the full text. When I click on it I get taken to the list of wifi networks and underneath my local wifi network it will say "Sign-in is required".
It may be working as designed - checking my newish BT HomeHub 5 I can see the PPP session recycled twice overnight. Oddly this was initiated by upstream admin according to the logs, not a vdsl failure.... since the hub will intercept pages when ppp is down it's possible this caused the confusion
b) Security policy
I sometimes see a notification that an app required access to system, but didn't have permission - yet when I click on the notification I get taken to a full list of apps -- how do I find out which one was trying to be naughty?
The WiFi problem can be quite annoying.
I think this is not an improvement over the previous functionality.
The idea seems to be that as soon you have to manually log in to a WiFi network Android switches to the cellular connection to make sure you are always connected.
The thing is that at my work place this means every time I get somewhat out of range of WiFi (elevator, toilet, staircase) and walk into range my WiFi stays disconnected until I remember to reconnect it.
I only have to actually sign in once a day, but as Android thinks it is a network you have to sign in to it will not automatically reconnect to that network.
Meanwhile the phone is using up my data allowance....
Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening? I updated my router with modern WMM and such. Now when I'm connected to my home wifi my phone decides to sleep the wifi when I turn off my screen.
This prevents whatsapp web working as intended. Also when downloading files and turning screen off the downloads just stop due to the lack of internet connection. I know it polls the wifi every minute or so, but it is not optimal behaviour in any way.
Mostly it's annoying when using web interfaces with apps, i.e. whatsapp web. I want my messages to be sent immediately (like before with my old router) and not when my phone decides that now it might be a good time to check if anything needs internet. This also delays receiving of messages of any messaging services that uses internet.
I have given whatsapp limitless data and excluded it from battery saving. So that does not help.
