N910F 5.1.1 upgrade failed - help please! - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Used Odin 3.10 to update my 910F from 5.0 to 5.1
It seemed to go OK but at the end the phone was in boot fail.
When I run it again, Odin fails right at the end and leaves this message on the screen:
UDC START
Volume size is too big 81920 < 471840
ODIN : Invalid ext4 image
I used the German 5.1.1 from Sammobile.
How do I get out of this please?:

You'd better flah this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/rom-unofficial-repacked-lollipop-t3105093
It helped me.

Thanks for the hint!
I ran that one and Odin finished successfully, which it wouldn't do before. But the phone still won't boot beyond the Samsung stars screen, with the blue light on and getting hot.
After that I tried again with the official 5.1.1 from Germany, and this time Odin went through OK with no errors shown, but the phone still hangs on boot.
Any more ideas?

Finally fixed it.
I stumbled about with a few different firmwares, and eventually got it to a state where the official 5.1.1 finally came to life.
Still not sure exactly what happened, but I now have a Note 4 with 5.1.1 and working again.

[Q] [4.4.2] Sound Not Working

Hi All,
I've just updated my Note 3 (9005) to KitKat 4.4.2.
Since updating everything is working except the sound.
In fact whenever a sound might play the phone hangs for a second.
Im certain ive flashed everything correctly, tried multiple ROM's but nothing fixes it.
Anyone have any ideas?
EDIT: After double checking, the modem/baseband file doesnt appear to have worked? currently showing MI6, what can i do to update it?
EDIT 2: After looking into it, this may be causing my issues....if anyone has the most up to date baseband for O2 UK then could they please send it?
Sammobile has the latest O2 firmware you can grab it from there.. Have you been able to flash back to 4.3 then?
OK, ive downloaded the latest O2 update.
This is in 1 single file, not the 4 that the KitKat update came in.
Can anyone tell me how to flash just the CP/Modem/Baseband from this one file??
EDIT: Flashed Modem.bin file through ODIN, flash completed successfully, but baseband still stuck at XXUBMI6, please can anyone tell me why this wont update?

It could be that O2 have locked your handset? Only thing I can think of, off the top of my head... you can try the leaked firmware (link in my signature, if needed again) - it has the 4 files. Flash only the Bootloader, then the ROM itself and see. Note of warning, playing with bootloaders is a risky game, and you can brick very easy if it goes wrong.
EDIT: Yes the official XEO is 1 file not 4 files like the leak
Thanks for the speedy reply.
I've tried updating to 4.4 and that's how the sound stopped working?
So my bootloader has already been updated. Don't know how to check though?
Do baseband/modem/cp need to be updated sequentially? e.g. MI6-->MI7 etc.
Thank again for all the help!

The baseband doesn't need updated sequentially no, you can go from MI to MK if you choose. It's probably O2's basband.
Can you dial *#1234# into your keypad and post the results ?

Yup it's O2's baseband, - remind me again, you have root?
From what I can see, O2 are up to MJ in terms of baseband - Sooo we need to find you an up to date baseband to flash (modem basically) - Now modems can be tricky if you get it wrong or get the wrong one. Have a look around and see if we can find you a more up to date one.
You could (not saying you should) unlock your phone and then use the NA2 baseband which I currently use (I am also on O2 but with an unlocked handset) - Not 100% on Sim unlocking so you'd have to have a nose around and see what's what.

Also need to Note, Sound issue may indeed be hardware based, but we will see soon enough.

I thought as much TBH.
I am rooted, i've downloded the latest O2 update and tried to flash the firmware but it didnt take, im still stuck at MI6.
I'll see what i can do re: unlocking the phone.
If you can find a more updated Baseband from O2 i would be eternally grateful!
Thanks,

Problem with making calls

Hi, my wife has a problem with her Note 4. It happens sometimes that when she tries to make a call, after she chooses a number (it doesn't matter if you choose it from contacts, or type a number manually in the dialer) the dialing window opens and after a while it dissappears. The number which you chose doesn't appear in the recent calls list. It happens from time to time, but it's annoying.
It's galaxy note 4 with non branded, non rooted Lollipop. Any suggestions what can it be?
probably a software glitch. Please headover to youtube and watch videos on how to flash stock firmware with odin then go to sammobile website download firmware for your phone and flash it with odin. (if you are downloading a 5.1.1 firmware then make sure that it does not say coj5 in the name, coj5 version firmwares lock the bootloader and then you wont be able to downgrade to 5.0.1 or to 4.4.4) i suggest you download a United kingdom BTU firmware of 5.0.1 (its non branded). will hopefully fix your problem.

i am sorry if i have misguided him? but how does taking out the battery resolve this problem...he says it happens from time to time so i think hes been having it for a long time now. Doing a factory reset or re flashing stock firmware fixes most of the problems thats why i asked him to reflash.
Thx for Your suggestions, reflashing the firmware could do the trick. I'm considering other methods too, cause my wife doesn't like to set up her phone once again... I tried clearing the data of "phone" apps but it didn't help though. Are there any other apps in apps manager related with this problem which data i could try to erase? I'm gonna try pulling out the battery and the sim card and if this won't solve the problem I'm gonna do the factory reset or reflash the firmware.

Official ROM for N920CZDAXSG

I have upgrade my ROM to Marshmallow 6.01 which is causing some problem.. Since I didn't took official ROM backup, I couldn't roll back to original official.... Can someone help me on this and upload official room, so that I can get the official ROM back and go for OTA update.

Hello, let me understand, by original rom you mean 5.1.1? And I would be curious what problems do you have with 6.0.1? Did you try a full wipe after installing 6.0.1? Cheers
I faced the same problem, and found the original stock rom in below link.

Yes I need the firmware which comes with the phone I think it was 5.1.1 (N920CZDAXSG)... After upgrading 6.0.1 the problem is battery drains soon (Just in 25mins 100 to 0) even after factory reset, went to service centre got busted using custom ROM.. They will not reverse it to official version since its violation of terms and condition... That is why I want to go for any original official version so that I can go with OTA update from samsung itself.

ANDROID 6.0.1 FOR G800F United Arab Emirates

http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/114827/G800FXXU1CPK5_G800FOJV1CPK1_XSG/
Just saw it too. Does it mean it will come to other countries soon?
I don't see United Arab Emirates being on the forefront of new releases on other phones...
Installed yesterday on friends secondary phone. No issues encountered, the ROM looks like the regular samsung crap with tons of bloatware and the same UI as before.
I have to say I like marshmallow more than lollipop. In my case the phone is faster than before. The visible changes are very rare, its nearly the same like lollipop.
ok, so i'm a bit newbie when it comes to stock ROMs, are there many diffrences between UAE and Germany releases of the same ROM despite language?
I made a debloated, deodexed, de-knoxed of this firmware. In case you want to check it out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5-mini/development/rom-official-tw-6-0-1-deodexed-t3519972
Can someone post an alternate link to the original ROM? Sammmobile is down for the weekend.
If your S5 Mini is model 800Y, and you flashed with this what happen?...does it have to be 800Y firmware

Initial 6.0.1 release:
Model: SM-G800F
Version: G800FXXU1CPK5/G800FOJV1CPK1/G800FXXU1CPI1/G800FXXU1CPK5
OS: Marshmallow(Android 6.0.1)

Size: 1335436654 bytes

Hey guys! I have just flashed this rom onto my s5 mini. The UAE version has language support for my country and for other countries as well. I think Marshmallow is faster for me than lollipop. The ram usage after boot is 750 mb for me. It works smooth, the icons are new and the permission system can be found. NO theme store also new emojis are added and a newer version of internet browser. What you have to calcute with is that thr UAE has two bloatware apps, which are unusual for me as a Hungarian user. These two you will see have icons on the home screen, you can easily disable them if you don't want to see them in the line of your applications.
One opinion from this whole comment:
I absolutely recommend you this 6.0.1 it is cool Wrote from my Hungarian s5 mini running the UAE 6.0.1 without any language obstacles

You can also download latest version of Samsung's music player that requires android marshmallow and it works very well on this rom.

Are you completely sure? I've been waiting on Samsung logo for more than 15mins, and only then it jumped to visual installation.
In any way, right now just find odin flashable Recovery, then delete every partition, reflash the rom and just let it be while you eat dinner

Downgrading Galaxy s8 G950U1UESC5CRF5 from 8.0 to 7.0

Hello, I have tried many attempts to downgrade but was unsuccessful. I have spent the past 3 days non stop trying every possible solution that popped up but I still can't solve it. It's for a research job and I desperately need it completed. Some of my device's details are:
Carrier: XAA
Version: 8.0
Baseband version: G950U1UES5CRF5
Kernel version : 4.4.78
Knox 3.0
-Downloaded 7.0 firmware from Sammobile,
-Tried multiple versions of Odin ( from 9 to the latest 13.1)
I get this error message on Odin after abl.elf:
FAIL! (Auth)
Complete(write) operation failed
All threads completed ( succeed 0 / fail 1)
Desperately need help, thank you!
You don't that anti rollback kicking in the only 7.0 is a combination file which is no where near a usable img

Downgrading is not possible if you need a lower than 8.0 firmware it will have to be a different device...
The 7.0 combination file I spoke of is a samsung test rom which is meant for phone diagnosis
It is not functional as a phones operating system let alone a rom to run apps on....
The error you received is the phones bootloader preventing downgrade there is no work around, hack, trick,or method to do it
