yes also I got error when flashing
I too got an error putting N910CXXU1BOG1 on, to fix this, I had to reboot the phone and put it back in download mode (otherwise i got the error screen about invalid flash or something). Then I was able to put N910COLB1BOE1 back on my phone. This allowed me to boot it.
From here I made sure i copied all of my data and I did a factory wipe of the phone & SD card.
Without adding my account information to it, I allowed the phone to clean boot once into BOE1, then I pasted BOE3... it worked, then I pasted BOG1.
After each new firmware update, I allowed the phone to do a single clean boot before flashing the next rom.
I am assuming there is an easy way, I dont understand how to use the PIT file but this should at least help someone else, who is stupid like me to get BOG1 on their phone.

I'm fixing them now. Safestrap should be uploaded in about 30 minutes. I will update the OP.
Im stuck and I'm on MF2, can't find it no where only saw MF3, MDB MDL
I was on Danvdh's GPE ROM (4.4.4), and decided to try out SHOstock-i v8.1. I wiped, and successfully installed, but on boot I get a "Could not do normal boot", with "ODIN mode" written below it. I'm assuming I cannot simply go from 4.4.4, to 4.4.2, or maybe cannot go from GPE to Touchwiz. Whatever it is, I have no other ROM on my device, and mounting USB storage is not working. I'll have to flash back to stock with ODIN, unless there's some other solution. Let me know, I'd love to try out this ROM.
isis/softcard
Loving this rom...thanks shoman! Question - is there a way to install the Isis/softcard app from the playstore? I tried searching this thread but not really seeing any mention of that.
I just redownloaded this for my 4.4.2 NB1 ATT galaxy s4 after switching to T-mobile. I rooted with towelroot and installed safestrap 3.75 and then the shostock 8.1 ss version. I also installed the NC1 modules like it says in this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616221 guide for NB1 versions. However, I still can't get the Wi-fi to function. I turn it on and the switch goes back to off. Also, when I try to shut off the phone, it continuously shows the spinning circle while showing the powering down message, but doesn't actually power down. I have to hold the power button down to restart the phone or remove the battery to keep it off. Does anybody know how to fix this?
EDITk I managed to get Wi-fi working using the NB1 modules instead of NC1, but when I try to power off the phone, it still hangs on the "Power off" and "Shutting Down..." window with the spinning circle. It vibrates initially and then again maybe after another minute. Help is very appreciated with this issue!
EDIT2: Okay, just rebooted and I can't connect to wi-fi again. :s

Still trying to get service
So, I have posted on this in here on another persons thread with no response. Much like my other post here. Zero response. Figure Ill try one more time.
Samsung i9500 on official 4.2.2 rooted, busybox, philz recovery. IMEI is right, SN is right but still not registering on network.
I have read and read. tried a million different methods and even replaced the sim/sd card holder in the phone physically. No change. Still not registered.
This isssue started before I flashed the official 4.2.2 rom. Phone worked, then suddenly nothing. So I flashed official 4.2.2, went back to official recovery to no avail. Thats when I changed the physical sim/sd holder itself. Nothing changed. Almost every tut ive found have to do with a null or 0049 IMEI number or a bad SN. This is not the case with my phone.
Please, any help would be appreciated.
As a side note, at the same time as the not registered error my phone stopped reading the sd card that has been in it from the day it came out of the box.
TIA
Please help!
Please, anyone with insight into this please help. I'm not looking for someone to do the footwork for me. I've been at this quite sometime, I'm not a noob, I've been at it for almost 10 hours straight just today. I've done every possible thing I can think of and that I've read. I'm on a junky Alcatel one touch that I can barely make calls on. This s4 is my business and I'm losing tons of business not being able to use my phone. Thanks
56 views and no responses. What am I doing wrong here?
76 views. Starting to wonder what the deal is here. I see tons of people's questions being answered over the last couple days and I can't even get a FU. Someone, show me some love.
Due to all the no help I got here and the fact I have done absolutely everyrhing I could to fix this issue, I went out and bought an s5. So I guess ill continue to plug away at the s4 hoping to fix it and hopefully recoup a few of the hundreds the s5 cost me.
Ill post any results I get here to hopefully help someone else that wont get any answers here.

You should create a own thread. Your issues have nothing to do with these tools. I don't think these thread are read by people with experience on these issues.
If your issues started suddenly, then my guess would be that it's a hardware problem. It doesn't sound like a software problem.
You could try updating to the latest firmware though and perform a factory reset. You could also try a different sim card and see if that fixes anything.
I don't think it will work, but you could try. If it doesn't work, then it's probably a hardware failure.
I also think it sounds like a possible hardware failure
Maybe take it to a Samsung service centre?

I thought this was a seperate thread. And I figured it must have something to do with this since it's a not registered on network issue.
What do you mean by hardware issue?

That you might have some motherboard failure since you already replaced the sim/sd card part.
Gotcha. Wish there was a way I could be positive it was a hardare failure. Although all things do point to that. Also, just want to say I appreciate you responding to my questions.
backed up manually EFS folder with root browser
I manually backed up the efs folder using a root explorer. Do I just copy/paste the contents of the backup to the EFS folder?
I decided to try a custom rom and, logically, took every precaution possible. When flashing, the ROM (Archidroid) gave me the option to install a new modem (I9300XXUGNA8). After installation, phone cannot register to network even though it detects them. Flashed back to previous rom but the modem number is the same. Now can't register to any network. Is this a problem with the EFS folder? or maybe I should flash another modem? or a stock rom?
I appreaciate greatly any help on the matter. many thanks in advance!

I followed the steps and when I booted back into android I could not get SuperSu to update the binaries. I tried to clean install supersu and lost root in the process. I wiped cache/dalvik and followed your instructions again - still not able to regain root. I did however, get to install TWRP before I lost root.
Anyone have any ideas?

I had a soft-bricked Boost G Stylo using the old method, and out of desperation I tried this method, figuring it wouldn't make anything worse. The upshot is, I am now unbricked, and I am rooted. I have a screenshot of the root, but I can't post it because this is my first post on here. Sorry!
Is there a simple and easy way to root the LG g stylo?
I am particularly looking for a one click type method.... Is there one available?

I did! I had the soft brick, stuck on boot logo indefinitely. I was able to boot into recovery or download, and that's it. I was following the advancements literally as they happened, and when you posted this, I tried it, and I didn't really expect it to work, but I had nothing better to do, and it worked. I have now been using my rooted 5.1.1 G Stylo, which had previously been soft bricked, for several days.

well since in TWRP you must choose where to backup too (which also chooses where you restore from) ei internal or external but if you wipe your internal storage you must do this process again
Wondering if this method will work on the LG Transpyre (VS810PP). The old method worked perfectly on the stock 4.4.2 firmware, but I just "acquired" the latest 5.1.1 kdz for this and am considering a full flash to it. Being I have root now and no kdz is available for getting back to 4.4.2, I'm a little reluctant to do the upgrade.
Note that I'm not using this as a daily driver and haven't even activated it thus far. It appears that the script is the same, only with the added "push_file.exe" file/step. Is this the main difference between this and the older method?
I suppose the worst thing that could happen is to have a fresh brand new device on 5.1.1 without root.
Opinions/advice?
