Facrbook Andriod help

Hey guys just recently I have had these issues with the Andriod Facebook app
1) after the first bunch of posts the newsfeed won't load
2) can't send inbox's
3) can't comment on freinds status's or page's
What I have tried to fix it
1) clear cache data
2) download a older version
3) uninstall and reinstall
4) Restart my phone
Does anybody have a solution to this???

Yeah ditch the app! It's rubbish. I use Friendcaster Pro and it's awesome.
By the way, xda developers don't work on this app, maybe get on Facebook help site or whatever they use and ask them. There the ones making this crap.

+2 with the facebook app is crap
+3 with the xda doesnt deal with the crappy fb crap lol

I used scope beta. It's an amazing app with Facebook twitter instagram and others under one app with a Google plus style layout.
Very impressive even for a beta no bugs

Incompatible apps

I've now found about 6 incomplete apps that use to work on my One X, most of them are games but one was an important banking app. How are you guys finding it?
Also will they eventually be fixed to work on our device?

I think most of it is down to the screen resolution not being supported yet.

I found the HSBC Fast Balance App worked on my old HTC Desire but not on the HTC One. I thought it was an Android issue since I was running 4.0 on my old HTC Desire.
Any fixes for this app?

Yes, i believe it doesn't trick the display into a smaller resolution, just tricks the store to think it is a different resolution.....if that makes sense?

Using Google Hangouts on One with Bloatware

I guess some of you noticed that google just updated Google Talk to replace it with Hangouts. A nice WhatsApp Clone with some beautiful features. I guess cross platform chat (Phone <> PC) is the most interesting part.
If you are an owner of an One which has Google Talk preinstalled as bloatware there is no chance to update this via Google Play unless HTC delivers an update. Too bad we're not able to uninstall bloatware / preinstalled stuff on non rooted devices...
But if you open the Play Store via browser on your computer to instruct it to install Hangouts on your phone, it will overwrite the Google Talk and you're able to use the new Hangouts app

I really wish they integrated it with sms/mms app like Facebook Messaging can do... or just made it like iMessage. But I'm happy for the upgrade.
It might not be showing up for folks because it is probably still replicating across the Play servers.

UI Layour is quite nice, hope it gets popular, but i really wanted that it could send sms , like imessage , or sms atleast so i can use that app for all.

Yep, but it is there don't worry. It launches when you start Google Talk

For me Talk was completely replaced after I started the remote Installation.

Strange. I'm on an att HTC one and it installed as a seperate app. I'm guessing it has to do with being on a non stock rom

I just got the phone today , it wouldnt let me install from Play store on the phone , it just gives me an option to open.
i went to play store on my pc and was able to install it from there on my phone and it replaced my talk app and it seems to work fine.

I opened a thread like this, Hangouts, with how to install and other stuff.
I saw this thread after.

I'm not sure if it works without root but titanium backup allows you to unistall bloatware but all my devices have been rooted so idk if it works without it honestly

I just logged into google play on my PC and installed it on my phone and talk was replaced by hangouts. I am stock not rooted.

Hi, i am from India and I am having an issue about installation of Hangout, The same issue occurs to my colleague also.
In Google Play it says already installed and no update option displayed but when i open it is the same GTalk UI and same icon.

I think there is an issue with the alarm app in general. Mine is stock and not rooted and I've had several failed alarms. When you try to go into clock after its failed the phone hangs and needed a reboot. There are a few others reporting problems with the alarm but more are claiming no issues for them. I've tried a factory reset but no joy.

I think it might be a conflict with an app I have installed as it's only started recently. If I get myself organized , I'll post a TB list of apps here for you to cross check with your own. Cheers

Factory reset: no succes. Reflash with odin the same MJ7: no succes...
Work arround: if your icon of alarm on the status bar dissapear, tomorrow your alarm will not ring and it will hang up the mobile and you will not be woken up in the morning!

I would love this list too
I have not rooted, or put on any new build. Before and after the Samsung update I've had this issue
I formatted my phone, this fixes the problem for a few days, then it starts again.
And now, I started having problems with my dialer force closing just when I need it.. And my camera not showing any images.. And just today my GPS was claiming I was 100 miles away from where I actually was.
There's something more fundamental going wrong.. And all my apps are pretty harmless.
I've installed practically all the Google apps, humble bundle games, Facebook and LinkedIn apps, RedditIsFun.. And that's about it. All apps I had on my first Note without issue.
This is seriously a problem, I need to use at least my phone dialer!

Unfortunately I experencied the same. It is sad. I use Timely and stock alarm as well, but could I be sure that Timely will work well when stock alarm cant?

Funny you say that. I contacted the Timely Dev earlier and he said it works independently from the stock alarm so should be ok.

I've had the dialler hang on me too, again something that never happened on any Android device I've had before, even when I've ran custom roms.
The only thing I do differently on my note 3 is I always have bluetooth enabled. I used to leave it turned off as I never had any devices that used it before. I'm sure that's not it thought.
I'm going to use Timely and hope the kit kat update in Jan fixes it. Failing that I'll send it for warranty. unless someone can shed any light on it.

I have many of the apps you also use. However, all of them are apps that ran fine on my s4, some my s3 and some even my old s1&s2. They never caused issues before. I really believe there is an underlying fault with the notes mj7 firmware. Many are reporting similar errors, believing they are related to being rooted. I am not now, nor have rooted my note 3 yet have experienced most of these bugs.

Funny enough my phone also had a FC with the stock clock this morning, never had this before, and then the phone app also hangs... I'm stock mj7, not rooted.
Seeing as ppl are reporting it quite recently, could it be time related? E.g., some licence expired on December 1...

Funny thing, Timely just failed me this morning, this is what happened exactly:
- Timely was set 7:00
- I woke up 7:28
- See Timely didnt work.
- I set timely to 7:36 just to try
- I set stock alarm to 7:37
- Timely didnt work, stock frozed the phone at 7:37
- Restart, then at 7:38(!!!) timely alarmed me, with 7:38 on the screen(i thought maybe I mistyped 7:36 to 7:38)
- Open timely and see that alarm is set to 7:36
So, it is a bit annoying, but it is not just a Note 3 issue, there are S3, S2 and Note 1 topics with the same problem. They say when the alarm icon on statusbar cant be seen but alarm have been set, it will not go off. Restart solves everything, but I cant catch the thing that makes the alarm fail and the icon disappear.
One little thought: Maybe if you set the alarm after midnight(same the day the alarm will go off) it works. If you set it the day before it wont. It is just a suspicion, I will examine it.
One other thought: Maybe even the alarm did not work, the Timer will, so use the countdown instead of the alarm. Not the same but maybe it wont fail. I will examine it too.

New sad thing. Today morning I didnt get 3 sms that was sent to me. The alarm failed at 7:00, sms-s was sent at 5.55, 6:54 and 7:24. After restart(737) I got the new ones but these never arrived.
Any advice?

Use alarm clock extreme, works perfecr and its free i uninstalled stock clock app for this

I think it is not about the app, as I see it is a deeper, system problem.

facebook video player changer?

after the latest update facebook videos are played by it's own player which is useless. I can't use a third party video players any more. is there a way to change it back without side loading an older version of facebook?

any question I ask here is totally ignored here. I lose hope to get answers.

I think there's no way to change that in the app, it bothered me too so i checked the whole web.... it seems to me the only solution is using a video downloader to download the viedo from the website

Download v8.0.0.10.Not The One From AppStore

Join facebook beta program, I can choose whatever player I want to play the video.

How can i Change the player

Weird...
I can use mxplayer for vids again and post picture comments since i did these steps 5mins ago:
Sign up for facebook beta
Update facebook on gplay
Stop testing facebook
Uninstall facebook
Reinstall facebook
Oh my god i am so happy

Well I Unistalled The Old One Then Installed v8.x.x.Works Fine For ME.

I already signed up for Beta user, but I get only the Facebook Version 7.
Can't find the Version 8.0.0.10 searched long time by Google :-\
Where can I find the Download?
