Why don't you try both and see. Battery usage is not the same for everyone.

I think this depends on what rom you use...
it depends on the rom aswell as the kernel
Latest TyTung with NDT miui seems works fine..
my 2 cent
which kernel, rom do i need?
i saw a guy he had 32k antutu score on Stock rom
now i am using Motion Rom + Emotion kernel. Yeah, its good but too much battery drain (no overclocks)
or should i use stock rom?

Weird, battery life with emotion kernel is pretty good man and the performance is very good
I had CM 12.1 with Renix63 kernel v2.0 KCAL Zram and it was smooth and stable than TW 5.1.1 Motion LL - but a want TW look than CM
For performance flash @n1kolaa cm12.1
It is frequently updated and it's stable enough
Kernel is included inside
It will give you 25k on antutu without any configuration.
Hy,i have little problems with battery drain. Like 3h SoT on Kangvip B564. I want to know what's the best rom for battery. Not only Marshmallow or Lollipop. The version too like B170/B564. After this please recommend me things to do to get more SoT. Thanks!

Use smartmax mode on esal kernal. Also in battery manager use smart saving mode. I have noticed that on performance mode doze doesn't kicks in while phone screen is off. Also it drains battery. Use 2G if you are not using data.
What is the best kernel for s8? i'm using tgp kernel now
In my opinion NX 19 kernel is the best, performance and battery wise.

What kernels did you already used?
Hey guys!
For some time i ve been lucky to get a custom kernel and tho it s not overclocked just undervolted..the results are ASTONISHING!!!
Wether you re rooted or not..would love to see YOUR RESULTS!
SO POST THEM HERE ?
My setup is:
Galaxy S20+ 5G ( G986B/DS )
12 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM
Latest Official OneUI 2.5 ROM with October sec patch (Android 10)
Performance gov or ondemand used
Custom kernel
TWRP 3.4.0
Stable Magisk 21000
Fsync was off for these tests and the phone was chilled in the fridge for best thermals.
And here are the scores:
Well I have attachedy antutu/geekbench results and I am shocked to see that they are worse, especially the antutu score. I'm using the snapdragon SM-G9860

Really good cpu multicore score..can never achieve more than 3100 on exynos sadly...but exynos cpu single core is awesome when a custom kernel is at stake. Cheers and thanks for sharing. It s an awesome chipset/soc anyway...much better than stock exynos.

Sure thing
Mod edit: Telegram link removed. Please review the current XDA stance on Telegram here.
That's great, but do you have a link to download the actual kernel for the 986B/DS?
