(Discussion) LG G3 Android M - G3 General

What do you guys think of Android M that was unveiled at Google I/O recently? What features would you like to see come to the G3?
YouTube Video with some info:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haliZQLWdZs

before we go M..i think we should need concentrate on 5.1
or maybe LG wants to jump
or maybe LG forgot us already

We're already on 5.1 mate, at least AOSP is anyway, as are most stock-based custom ROMs.

What stock-based LG ROMs are on 5.1? I know in the States the G3 is still on 5.0.

The the Android Development section you can find some ROMs on 5.1, some on 5.1.1 even. Most AOSP (Fully-custom ROMs) are on 5.1.1. I thought CloudyG3 was on 5.1 but I might be wrong.

I've seen all the 5.1 AOSP-based ROMs (I'm on BlissPop myself), but I haven't noticed any LG stock ROMs based on 5.1, guess I missed them.

I thing (and I hope) that LG did not forget us. Lg might want to jump to M rather than 5.1

These threads are really stupid.
1- Android M was not released, and won't be before October/November.
2- There are no 5.1 stock-LG based ROMs because 5.1 was not yet released for the G3.
3- No one knows what will LG do. We might get 5.1.1 tomorrow, or we might not get it ever, it's up to them. There are no time frames to when will LG release an update. Everything people write around here are pure speculations.

Have you guys heard of 5.2? Its out there.
BTW Android M "Developer Preview" was announced yesterday, it will be long before its released and IF lg releases it to any of their flagships (Excluding Nexus) you know the G4 will get it first.
AND!!!
this is about the 4th or 5th thread about android M in the G3 community.

OK, everything about android M is so clear.
What do you think about android N? When should we see it in our phone? What features would you like to see? ....................I am just joking.
I mean, stop making threads about not released versions, or continue with ones that are for future release Android N, O, P, Q, R, S, T....

Highly unlikely as there are no Condor releases for CM11 at the moment.
@percy_g2 will port CM12 for Condor, hopefully sometime soon, read this thread for more info (search for "CM12" in that thread).

I'm starting to think that we will never get our android 5.0 or CM12... a lot of devices got it already, and got official Cm12 nightly... and our Moto E still on CM11... :crying:

Motorola announced that Moto E will get Android 5.x, chances are that we will get it during this month, for CM12 it will probably take more time for an unofficial stable release. What worries me is that Android 5.x comes with ART runtime and Dalvic is no longer included, and because apps take more space on ART having just 2GB of space for apps will be very limiting. Hopefully we will be able to move apps to SD in CM12 and Android 5.x.

Motorola working on Android 5.1 for Moto G 1 and above.

Hello friends, Good Afternoon!
Today my friend, who works at Motorola, sent me these photos in the morning and said they are already testing the update 5.1.0 for the XT1033, he said, he already received your smartphone with android 5.1.0 of the company, it practically confirms that Motorola will update the Moto G (first generation) and his superiors to 5.1.0, he also said that this very good upgrade and has no bugs, he commented be thinking about upload the image to the users, but the "number of the version" is unique for each 5.1.0 tester like it, he can not post this because there could be complications for him, if the company found out, then asked me to postasse information and here they are!

Nice observation. I already saw this picture on G+ but i did't believe it,altough i didn't find any proof its fake nor that its real. But this is the proof.
Fake as hell Motorola haven't finished yet to release 5.0.2 and now it's magically working to 5.1? Mmmh sure sure! So, soak test and release in 2016?

Motorola also didn't finished releasing the 4.4.3 when they started releasing 4.4.4. The slow rollout is due the bugs in 5.0.2 it's in their interest to not release the buggy one to all of the devices!

Yes, but they are releasing, and seems that there aren't bugs (remember, Perú had from "selected users can" into "all can download" into same day..
After the second week it gets laggy and many apps stop work as they used to (due to bugs in the cache usage).

Also, since the days of Android 4.2, the first revisions of each Android version released by Google doesn't have the third digit, i.e. it should be "5.1" instead of "5.1.0".
The kernel date thing didn't alert me, since the source code could've been made available to the manufacturers way ahead of mass knowledge, but this totally made me feel awkward.

Also. It is supposed to be an XT1033, but the baseband is for a US retail XT1032.

Yeah lets discuss. First of all as many people said, N really is what MM should have been. But anyways ,better late than never. Actually the guys at google are not only devs but business men also. They would never bring all the goodies at one go. Why? well you know the obvious. And after all we still have a long way to go from "O" to "Z".
Being a part of Xda, we already have seen everything that N is bringing (via custom roms or Xposed). But from mass and non tech savvy POV there are many significant and welcome changes. Now, the question is when are we going to have N in our device?!
I know, its only a dev preview for nexus group and there would a few betas >then final> then AOSP>CM14> then if we are lucky( and of course sticking to our device) one of our dev would port this to our device. So, is not possible to skip all the steps and start porting directly from the Nexus images. Yup, that sounds absurd( I m not a dev at all). BUT we are XDA, and we like livin on the edge.
Yeah nevertheless we can hope much as our device has one of the very Good support from cm.
What you guys think about it's name would be???
Something like nutella is well in rumours.
For me the Android N is an Revolutioned Android Marshmallow with another utily functions

It's truth. You can find test build in cm13 thread
I'm so hyped for nougat, can't wait for new nightlies
... i really wonder about how so good is the update... if it is kinda have a better kernel and more functions without resting too much resources,,, it is good, but if it is kinda windows vista... omg better stay with 4.4 or 6.0
I wanna have this update, and test it... just hope that it would worth.
BTW, tx for all
You guys are more lucky then me. U have very early access to nougat via cm14. I don't have s4 mini now. And I'm missing my lil champ. I'm currently using galaxy s5 snapdragon which doesn't have nougat ROM yet for public.
I ve bricked s4 mini.
After 2 days arco done first build of cm 14. RIP:crying:
awaiting news
I believe in the potential of 7.0 for my i9192, I'm using a unnoficial build of CM14 and I confess that pleased me, even as a test, as I think better than the Marshmallow. I am waiting anxious that the Devs work with nougat and to bring good roms.

Why is this K8 2017 running stock?

So yeah. This was a strange sight. K8, or at least what the store claims to be a K8, running stock Marshmallow (I checked, version V10a build MRA58K). Bezels also seem unusually fat comparedto the prev gen K8.

Very interesting find! It's probably some pre-production unit, with some early beta software, which somehow ended up as a demo unit in that store. India, I presume? It's funny store claims it's 2017 version with Nougat well at least icons are rounded squares like the ones in latest LG UX. MRA58K is definitely the release of MM that we currently have on our 2016 version. You know, I wish we could have an official ROM close to stock, like this one

Not India, Indonesia hahaha. Yeah, store spec sheets are almost never right, except those from Samsung since Samsung makes them and hands them out, while LG and everyone else just leaves the store to do it themselves.

Unlikely that there will be Oreo for N7 since google changed kernel requirments to 4.4 in R2
@tomcis147 for new devices rolling out with Oreo ..
last Android 7.0 ROM i tried was super laggy comparing to pure nexus based on Android 6.0 so I'm not even going to try 8.0
