plenty of roms to choose from, and most are at least tweaked for more speed.
it just depends on what you want, AllianceRom for example is filled with customisation stuff, while SimplRom is debloated like mad.
and don't forget all other roms...but it's impossible to remove all lags though, that's just the way samsung created/abused some files
hope it helps a bit :good:

I can use SRS!

Nothing to say about this rom !
Just great great work !!!
This ROM is truly amazing. I've tested alot of ROMS now but I always had to install ARHD after every single ROM.

Go to Market and download Root Uninstaller than uninstall whatever you want
sorry boys but has any of you tried CM7 or H2O?? ARHD is nice for someone who likes Sense UI but if you don't like it or don't mind it than any non-sense rom is a lot better. I tried many ROMS and none of the sense roms are even half as fast as CM7
yeah this rom really rocks ;D

Yeah, H2O is really fast hehe.
Sent from HydrOG3N MOD DHD.
Would have to agree. ARHD 6.1.0 is definitely awesome. XD
To me it seems much smoother and much more responsive than 5.2.6. However I'm not really liking some aspects of the UI like the new weather widget and lock screen. :\
The new ROM is absolutely great! In fact this is my first CustomROM, just rooted the Phone 3 days ago..., but it's much faster and more energy efficient than the original stockROM is. Love it!
6.1.0 is great, fast, stable and battery life is great, tried a few other ROMs including CM7 but keep coming back to ARHD.
ARHD is a rom for absolute beginners on the custom rom world.
There are lots of different roms with much more possibillities.
for example...
- MIUI
- CyanogenMod
Try more often a different rom and discover the fun of flashing.
I really love revolition rom. today i spent all day with flashing this rom. But I've severeal problems with it.
When I try to install modifications (Like Advanced CPM, Custom Quick Menu, lower auto brightnes), It's stucks at Boot Screen... I couldn't understand why doing this but i think this addons only compatible with revolition 5.x.
Am i right ?

yes, you need to wait for the 6.1.0 mods. The 5.x mods will not work with 6.1.0. updated mods are scattered among the thread but you will need to look for them. The updated mods will be added to first page soon I'm sure.
Not sure if its just me. But I am unable to calibrate the g sensor, it just says it fails
Actually the message is calibration aborted...
Yea i like the rom too it works amazing

Or... it's also a ROM for people who like Sense, and possibly even bought an HTC phone because of Sense, at least partly.
Some of us like AOSP or MIUI ROMs, some of us like Sense ROMs. Let's not get into putting down various ROMs or people who use them, please. These things are subjective and are opinions not facts.
However I completely agree that it's fun to flash different ROMs and try them out - no argument there!
This ROM seems really good.
Hi people, i'm noob

From my opinion, stock is the most stable rom available, however it is **** laggy.
Tried few roms myself, they exceeded the performance of stock by far, but, at least, in my experience, they lack in some other part.
So, my suggestion is to stick with stock, but some tweak is necessary,
1-root it and enable xrecovery
2-delete unnecessary apps such as Wise'F*****N'Pilot, chinese and japanese keyboard if you are neither, and whatever apps you render unnecessary.
3-Apply FPS uncap by zdzihu
you are done, you will notice huge smoothness in your phone without the need to flash rom,and if you would want to make it even easier to use apply this theme, link below,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1293738
Now you have fast,user-friendly and stable phone, good luck....
I'm looking for a quick, stable and clean AOSP ROM to use for my i9505 S4, which one would you guys recommend? Currently I've tried AOKP and C-ROM however they both tend to hang and crash every few minutes for around 5 seconds or so which is causing some annoyance. Ideally I'd like something that's running 4.4.2 and is as close to stock and stable as possible. Any recommendations?

No best threads allowed sorry :crying:
Thread closed as its a Best ROM thread.
OP there is no absolute "best" ROM - only the ROM that works best for you. Due to differences in how you use the device, what works best for other users may not work best for you and vice versa. My suggestion therefore is to try out some different ROM's and see which one you find the best for you.
I just got my S4 (GT-I9505) from my dad. I'm really excited but I don't know where to start. What should I do first now that I have it? Should I root it first? What is the best Rom and Kernel for this device? Any advice would be much appreciated!
If I were you I will perform a factory reset first This model has many ROMs, you may try each of them and find out your favorite one.:cyclops:

I have i9505 though. I don't think it's compatible?
Once you're rooted and running custom recovery you can multiboot it, (run multiple custom Roms) all information is in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2864469
Alucard's kernel should give you good perfomance.
Or Hulk kernel. With hulk you can overclock the up to 2.1 Ghz. But I feel like Alucard gives you better performance (when running 1.9).
As for the roms, they are all pretty much the same.
I've tried Sabermod CM12.1, Resurrection Remix, AICP 9, FlexOS.
They pretty much have the same performance (judging by the UI speed).
Haven't tried the SlimLP builds yet.
I also tend to return to the GPE rom. It's 5.0.1 though.
The reason I keep coming back to GPE is that I have pretty much no problems with it. Very stable.
In benchmarks you will get the same score on all roms. I got an average of ~32000 on all the above mentioned roms.
So, in the end it will come down to how the rom feels (fast ans smooth or slow and laggy) to the user.

Any experience with CyanogenMod? When I click the ROM tab, CyanogenMod is listed first so I'm thinking that it is the most popular right now. Do you have any info on how good or how stable the mod is?
Also, quick question. When flashing a rom, I know that I wipe the cache and dalvik cache before flashing. But should I also wipe these 2 after wiping?

Not necessary but yo can
ooer! woa there cowboy! It's new. Take your time to explore and understand how it all works then once you get that feeling that you're sure this or that could be better that's the moment when you can think about rom flashing.
I loved the phone when I got it. I then thought hey, I'll flash cyanogen on it. That worked well for a time (and they're getting better and better with each version).
I then went a while with a danvdh's excellent google edition rom (imho a very good compromise for the minimalist).
I finally came full circle back to a TW based rom (for info the Imperium v9) with which I am most happy.
Through all that I discovered that what I wanted most was an excellent camera, good video player and good battery life, all of which come included in TW roms.
The Imperium or other roms bring nice tweaks and optimisations all of which came from that famous itch that every geek has for making things that bit better.

If I were to play taxing games, which rom would you suggest? I'm in a tie up between Cyanogen and Google Play Edition.

In bechmarks both roms give the same scores. So there isn't much to say about that. CM does feel a bit faster in my opinion. But I don't know if it offers any noticeable advantage. Unless you're willing to run android 5.0 and ktoonsez kernel (which offers CPU and GPU overclock and Is only available for CM).
Hey all,
Bought a Note 4 for my mother recently and I'd like some suggestions on ROMs. I'd like to flash a stable, stock, de-odexed ROM that removed all unnecessary bloatware. I know there are a number of choices out there, but if someone who's had the Note 4 for a while could point me in the right direction, that would be great.
Latest stock rom is very stable, I just disabled the bloatwarez because I never rooted the phone.
Hi.
Just try this one. It's not stock at all, but it's' probably the best Note 4 Rom over here. Big community, responsive developer, great features and amazing battery life with the stock kernel that they provide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-kyubi-rom-note-5-t3220106
But, if you really really want to go stock , try Nameless ROM. Very fast and fluid ROM with great battery life.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/5-1-1-namelessv1-t3221528
Good luck.

I've noticed it's quite stable. Would be easier to keep the stock rom for her as it isn't mine. Is there a thread or page that lists out what apps are safe to disable on the Note 4 without causing issues?

Thanks for the links. Only thing is that it's the Exynos version (SM-N910H).
