[Q] AppOps behaviour with system apps on 5.1 - Omni Q&A

Hey guys, just wondering why has changing perms for system apps been disabled on purpose in Omni's App Ops? See here.
Was that to accomodate for non-rooted setups? Thanks for info.

I believe so... The change is a squash of changes from CodeAurora (Qualcomm).
But diddling with permissions of system apps is a great way to interfere with system stability (if it even works at all because system apps fundamentally have increased permissions).
If you don't trust someone's system apps, you shouldn't be running their stuff at all.

That's oh so true. Still it might come in handy for wakelocks, apart from the privacy aspect.
Thanks! :good:

I've never been a fan of outright blocking wakelocks, as it can cause some REALLY weird stuff.
The main issue here might be gapps - since those are system apps BUT closed-source. Any of the open-source stuff, people can actually look at the source and see whether or not there actually is a privacy issue. (This reminds me of when some dude came here ranting about horrible privacy issues in OmniTorch because it had system app permissions, even though he couldn't find a single example of it collecting data because it WASN'T collecting data...)
I believe that outright blocking wakelocks in gapps is likely to cause some strange problems - the blocking/stretching of alarms makes more sense (I don't like those damned NLPCollectorWakeLocks either, which is why I've been playing with some stuff that stretches out the alarm timers for it - check gerrit for some WIP stuff on that.)

Thanks for all the info, I have now decided to introduce a new build.prop in my builds that allows for controlling system apps if set to true. It's the least intrusive approach imho:

Now that I have root, what should I do?

I followed all the instructions and installed CWM recovery, and then installed su and now I have root. It was pretty easy. There is some loss of quality of the camera but I can live with it for now.
What are the suggested modifications now? The main thing I would like to do is purge all the stupid spyware / adware apps on this. What is recommended?
I am hoping there will soon be a CM install for this so I can truly get rid of all the Sony junkware.
Not sure but can you keep us posted on your battery life after installing a custom rom, curious to know if the stock rom has some special battery efficiencies.

I'll tell you what I did:
uninstall all sony bloatware, expecially that antivirus app...
install xposed framework
install titanium backup
Now I'm just waiting for CM or whatever rom
Do you have a list of package names I should nuke? I can't quite match up all the package names with the evilware.
I'm looking at the crazy permissions some of these apps have. Weather Widget can read my call log! wtf!
Thanks
Well, you sure don't want to take a bunch of low-light pictures....
Xposed Modules
There should be am exposed module who can do this for you, it should be called set permissions or something like that... I personally deleted everything from Sony, I use 3rd party apps for weather, calendar and so on... But this is personal taste I just prefer to use the phone for its hardware, not for the Sony brand
Install gesture control and permanently disable the nav bar. That's what I would do gestures are the best way to control a touch device IMHO.
Install Greenify to enhance your battery life. Install Adaway to get rid of ads system wide. Use Tasker to automatically enable/disable pattern unlock based on your location (ie home or not) and also automate the phone putting itself in flight mode when you charge at night.

I can't wait to install Xposed framework. I can't live without "vibrate on answer", long press tile to go to setting, camera shutter mute, Wanam's Youtube ad-remover, and most importantly GEM Xperia module to hide unwanted apps. Some root apps like Titanium backup, Samba droid, SSH droid, Greenify etc. Fingers crossed for a root exploit.
If you do not really know what to do with root, then I'd really question whether damaging your device is worth it.
This phone is super powerful and the "bloatware" doesn't affect performance - certainly from my user perspective. Just use apex or nova and hide the apps you don't want to see.
TBH, as much as I love tinkering around with my phones, the need for root (as opposed to it being nice to have it) is diminishing as android develops.
Will root for titanium but not much. sony has the battery management that can compare with greenify.

My big thing is I want all the spyware to be gone, and I basically do not trust any carrier / manufacturer builds.
Btw the camera is very good, even post-rooting. And battery life is really amazing. I ordered the magnetic charger, and I can probably wait to charge my phone until the new charger arrives. It seems like this phone could go for several days pretty easily. I'm impressed.

I have found that custom ROMS/Kernels and much else for this phone to be sorely lacking. This is by no means an attack on my respected dev peers, simply an observation.
Throughout the woes of our limited forums I see a trend in the gripes about this little wonder.
I am offering my personal settings & preferences that MAY unleash what we can do here.
FIRST THINGS FIRST- Just forget needing buggy builds of TWRP for KK+ rom flashing. There's not much to flash, and TWRP 2.7.1.0 forced me to dl the KK stock firmware & start from square zero.
*NOTE FOR REASONS STILL UNKNOWN EVERY SINGLE PARTITION WOULD RESTORE- EXCEPT THE SYSTEM.
Enough said.
I am using CWM 6.0.2 for stability reasons, and have no issues.
Now I will begin the good stuff.
After my mods/tweaks etc, I am running about 97 apps with 3.9GB internal memory remaining, can go about 11hrs without needing to charge, give or take, and can multitask seemlessly with around 410mb free RAM at stationary.
Obviously, one needs to utilise the KK SD card fix. After this, begin:
Install /system/app/mover from Play Store & BE CAREFUL!!
I proceeded to begin moving bloatware preinstalled apps from being system apps to User apps, freeing essential system rom space & allowing for safe uninstall and transfer to ext sd.
Now on to build.prop.
Unleash what we can do here.
Here is the link to my build.prop zip. Please note all mods & adds specifically, as they are unique to the likings of this phone.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-a-fg6mIteHakZfYXk1eklla3M/edit?usp=docslist_api
Next, I HIGHLY suggest the Override DNS for KitKat. Only one that works for 4.4 & above. Set to Google, which is also feasable in bud.prop, but my experience has been iffy with that, and this app flushes DNS cache w/o reboot and sets DNS KitKat specific.
GPS- FasterGPS.
Here is the link to the Advanced Settings data after basic configuration. The results speak for themselves.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B-a-fg6mIteHellndldvUG5Eb1k/edit?usp=docslist_api
Dl and rename to .txt to view.
I use RAM Manager Pro for memcleaning & management.
Use default option, the select custom afterwards to fine tune settings to preference.
If ANYONE needs recovery files for any soft brick needs AND has CWM, please PM me & I will upload mine.
Hope this gives some insight on how to begin using this guy properly.
Open forum. Ask/request away, add to it please!

Unjustified Dev is working on CM12 for this phone, but he's pretty much the only one. Whether you team up with him or you work independently, it'll certainly be good to have more people working on this phone. Bummer you had to lose your other devices though.
A different route
Hey all, thanx for the attention & activity in getting this thread moving.
I readily & always tell all I am not a Dev, I assist true devs here & there to work towards
stables, patches, fixing kernels, and so on.
That's out of the way, now on to the progress.
I have been using an AOSP deodexed stock 4.4.2 ROM, and praises to the efforts of
the community member, and much to my discredit I can't readily recall who this person
is to post a link to that thread, as is proper. oh well.
While the AOSP stock build is a big showing of progress, I say with a heavy heart that
it is very, very buggy.
What the positive effort was: It is debloated to such a level that upon a fresh install,
the user still has 4.2GB Internal Storage.
This, I've found, is the single most common misdirected goal and focus of efforts with
throw-away-yet-kinda-quality nocontract phone.
After I installed TB Premium, I discovered that the system ROM had around 182Mb available.
I now come to reports.
Every Stock 4.4.2 system app was still there, however the writer replaced a few (ie Camera
with Google Camera, for one) that completely eat up what precious limited RAM/
ROM performance we do have.
The build.prop showed only a few mods/edits, less than five.
The dalvik.vm.heapsize was 128m, heapstart was 8m, and growth limit 256mb.
That was same as stock. Speaking only for me, that was the biggest oversight that
tainted almost all efforts. Those sizes are entirely TOO big for this phone's britches.
If I seem like I just will not stfu, I can't blame you.
I feel I have to be as thorough as possible out of respect for my colleagues.
Now, since I am using Chrome from my device for all of this, you all will find up look oads
and images following this reply, fyi.
My first inspection was to install SetCPU, in small hopes that a customized kernel
had magically came. I am BEGGING for more governors and I/O schedulers, our less-than-
primitive 5/3 is downright insulting.
Kernel supports absolutely no tweaks, VM swap, O/C or min freq. U/C.
My goal is to take the only alternative given on 4.4.2 at all, and make lemonade.
System/app mover from Play Store.
There are countless threads on what is & isn't safe, my mods on that are my prefs.
In the end, I was able to free ROM up to just over 406MB. I can't begin to describe
the difference.
On to build.prop
To compliment my new device I just got, I set dalvik.vm sizes to a less audacious level.
I chose the more conservative of 8m, 64m, 128m. *Note any less on any 3 values, your FCs
will never cease.
Next, I made a few other edits I've favored on several devices, will upload my .txt.
Use of SD Fix for KitKat, along with Force2SD paid, I have 104 apps, many being very large
games, as well as the evil Chrome and FB storage rapists, all Google offenders at that.
I have a smug 4.32 GB Internal Storage available, saving me much embarassment by killing all my ROM wins.
AdAway 2.9 for KitKat, Override DNS for Root Users, the ONLY DNS mod that works on
KitKat, FasterGPS, Seeder 2.0, Root Explorer paid, TB Pro, NG Cache Cleaner, SignalGuardPro
and SD Booster make up my arsenal.
Touchwiz & Trebuchet are gone, I use Nova Launcher Premium.
Restoring TB app backups from external SD put my phone into bootloop.
I am clueless as to any reason why.
Using ANY root sysApp delete to debloat will also softbrick.
System/App Mover seems to be the only way. I speak from a few experiences and Nandroid
system part. restores.
I COMPLETELY CONDEMN MY PRIOR CONVICTION TO CWM.
I completely f*"$ed that up.
TWRP 2.8.0
NOTHING ELSE.
I even attempted a rash Aroma Installer to compensate for MusicFX being gone.
Ac!D Sound Mod.
Worked. And Improved.
RAM Manager Pro is gone too. I've found my build.prop edits are just right.
Any app tweak mucks it up.
Battery Callibrate Root, free on Store. Another win on battery life.
This is the most I can really do now.
Without a custom kernel, we'll be left behind like nearly all Prepaids, non flagships.
That's MY report, I beg for input/feedback/comments/criticism/ridicule, whatever.
Next Replies will be build.prop.txt, gps.conf, screenshots.

DISREGARD BUILD.PROP UPLOAD FROM PREVIOUS.
I missed some critical errors & edits that will negatively impact the phones performance and memory allocation, dang my bad all!
I've been at this phone non stop it seems since my previous post. Need to be less trigger-happy with reporting progress smh.
I'm uploading what I promise is my finished build.prop, for real this time.
Since I am sticking with this stock AOSP build, I was able to successfully flash an Aroma recovery installer mod, the Ac!d Sound Engine.
I should note that the only EQ offered that will work is Nooxide. Awesome Beats EQ is not designed for 4.4 platform.
The Ac!d enhancement and Dolby Mod both have made positive enhancements.
The Play Store that is built in to the .zip install MUST be replaced. Initially the writer included that Play Store will FC upon install, but clearing cache/data in app manager would fix, and was correct.
I can't assume that I'm the only one who has caught this, but I am reposting in writer's thread that Play Store will update to 5.4 build, and it becomes all but unusable.
Any Play Store update beyond 5.2... has never functioned properly for me, it seems Google is making a path for Lollipop migration, and the Play Store versions 5.3 and above are, I believe, geared for 5.0 platform, but still giving it to 4.4 users.
I downloaded a Play Store 5.2 apk from a third party site, saved to my external.
What I now believe is the present solution to this situation is this;
Get 5.2.** apk, keep it on External, or readily available.
Get System/app mover
Root Explorer
After flashing, use System/app mover, and convert Play Store from system to user app.
Reboot. Uninstall Play Store as regular user app. Install 5.2.** apk. open System/app mover & convert Play Store to system app. Hit "cancel" on reboot prompt in app. Go to app manager, Google Play Services, clear cache and ALL data under "Manage Storage". Then reboot.
This has fixed, for good, my issues.
As stated before, use System/app mover at your own discretion and what is your preference, just make a backup first and understand what you are doing.
I am satisfied with what I've worked out, and do not have any other work to do that I can see.
Thanks all.
Next reply is RIGHT build.prop
apologies again.

Update- have recently corrected setting dalvik heapsize and limit to lower settings, causes many MANY problems, fc's etc.
Set to 8m, 64m, 256m.
Absolutely primed.
Further system mods gave me 433Mb free ROM space, and around 4.1Gb internal storage free.
Happy thus far.
If anyone is keeping up on CM12 build, share to this forum please.
I wish to aid the dev in any way possible.

I am using the CM12 build and its pretty good. If you havent tried it yourself you should its pretty stable. I do like to see that you are working on the stock rom though. I like that one too just too much bloatware and not enough free space, so this is good!
I've tried keeping tabs on that here & there, can't seem to find dl link for latest/stable build. I've given up on this stock ASOP, just flashed back to stock 4.4.2. Added all those mods I've been posting, runs 110% better.
Would you be so kind as to point me the right way to dl this CM12? I'm looking again, but it would help a lot lol.

Thanks
Ty I actually found it shortly after I requested that from you.
Been running it since then, a LOT of trial-and-error runs, but I've
managed to get it running just right for me, almost...
Fixed constant soft reboots by setting location to device only
Have no issues at all with phone calls, only the persistent
proximity during a call, I must position my phone a certain way,
my cheek kept touching the speaker and mute icons.
Any advice on that is welcome, I've tried the build.prop edit:
ro.lge.proximity. delay=25
mot.proximity.delay=25
without much luck lol.
And, the MMS issue. I'm on MetroPCS, so I have set the default
APN accordingly.
After researching CM Mod forums & searches, the only
solution anyone has ever provided is to use third-party SMS,
Textra was the specific example.
It seems to be arbitrary, I've had continuous successful deliveries,
then shortly after they fail every time..rebooting has AND has
not fixed this...too random of success/failures to pinpoint myself,
but I by no means am a master at this ☺.
Any help or ideas are most welcome!
Did you clean install? I set my APN to metro fast or whatever its called and have had no problems with texting. The only issues I have other than the proximity that you mentioned, is that videos don't always play. Plus the newest Netflix doesn't work and neither does play TV and movies. Both force close when I try to open

Yeah when I had cm12 installed I had no problems with mms after changing the apn to metropcs lte or whatever it's called.
Well, I've since returned to Stock KitKat w/ root & modifications. The Cm12 was nifty at first, but in the end I desire functionality over custom.
Too many apps/features that I want & use often just didn't work unfortunately. Oh well, I'm still willing to pitch in & help out devs!
Maybe you could help develop the cm12 rom. Unjust lent his galaxy light out, and idk if he got it back yet

Who's going to miss using Xposed on Lollipop?

Are you waiting out on updating for next weeks Tmobile update? At this current moment, w/ Xposed 3.0 Alpha3, we still don't know if we will ever get support (as the dev said). I currently have the phone setup pretty much dependent on Xposed. Not sure how I will setup the phone again without some of the stuff Xposed has to offer.
List of modules:
Complete Action Plus - Used because Samsung's Complete Action feature is a bit gimmickly and this one allows you to properly setup which apps you want by default.
GravityBox - This is used because I want to change/remap my "recent key" to "menu" instead.
Greenify - no need to explain
Network Speed Indicator is perfect for the Notification Box. Yes this can be replaced.
PerAppFonts - Used to change the apps in my chat app... No replacement w/out Xposed
Samsung Camera Fix - Now I can launch Quickpic directly from Camera App
Screen Filter - Used with tasker to kill bluescreen that hurts your eyes
Secure Setting - Paired w/ Tasker since it can control GPS, Radios, Power Saving, and etc
Wanam - too many functions here
XHangouts - To edit Hangout settings
Youtube Adaway - blocks youtube ads
YourTube - Used for automatically selecting 4k stream and changing display menu at launch of Youtube App
God I wish this list wasn't so long that I became dependent.
Nope. I bought the device because I liked it. Not because I liked it and it could run xposed.

Dont think anyone will miss it really. You can always go back to kitkat and use xpose so it is not really a thing to "miss"
That is the joy of choices...new update because it got pretty colors and new lockscreen/notification settings? or stay with the old that does EVERYTHING you require from it?

One thing that I use is Greenify GCM push. Seems like you can't use GCM push when Xposed doesn't work.
The only thing I really care about is YouTube adaway and mw manager. I hate youtube ads, and I love that I can shrink any app by sliding from the corner.

without Xprivacy, the android ecosystem is useless to me personally.
without the ability to keep my data, MY data, I would rather go get a iphone.
I do wish another option was available, a ton of usable mods are being hampered due to one add on (albeit a major one)
certainly not complaining since I can't code, Ill just stick with 4.4.4 and wait.
What about if you update and install dual Boot and run cm12 in the second ROM with xposed and that's it!!

Thanks buddy, very good to know Regarding stability, no question that your statement is fact. Shines some bright light on this news, posted by @rovo89 today along with news of a new LP alpha...
Regarding Samsung ROMs: No progress. No ETA. No promise that it will be supported, although I don't exclude it either. It's simply unclear what further differences between their and AOSP's ART variant come up.

I will personally miss the ability to use Xposed mainly due to the vast amount of customization options that it offers to users. While it is certainly preferable that various mods are baked into ROMs, there are some incredibly powerful modules that either can't or are highly unlikely to be included in any custom ROMs. I decided to go through the modules that I'm using and (attempt) to evaluate the likelihood/possibility that their effects could/would be included in a custom ROM (or replicated by non-xposed dependent apps). Here's my take, would love to hear the thoughts of others :good:
Amplify: Surely. Most ROMs improve battery life vs. stock anyway. Wakelocks/services/alarms can be "tamed" by other means.
CPU Freq in Statusbar: Maybe not in the statusbar, but Dynamic (Kat at least, have yet to try Pop) has it as well as the CPU gov in the notification panel. Better than "good enough"
Coolify: A newer module that I don't think many people are aware of... but absolutely should be! Giving it a look in the Play store will give you a better idea of what it does than a brief description. Really a fantastic app/module... frequently updated and each new version works better than the last! I also like that it shows the battery temp in the status bar. If I were crazy greedy, would prefer that it showed CPU core 0 temp, but I'm not, so happy to keep an eye on the battery I doubt that the full effect would be implemented in a ROM, but I'd think that it could be to some degree.
Greenify: Similar effect built into a ROM? Sounds like a TON of work... will be missed.
No lock home: Was very happy to learn that this is built into LP itself... good call!
PlayPermissionsXposed: A module I consider quite important but wouldn't expect to see it in a ROM. AppOps (already baked into ROMs) is far more useful though anyway.
UnbelovedHosts (paid version): Similar to AdAway, and KILLER as an addition to it. It's very rare that I see an ad of any kind on my phone. The unlock key allows to blocked hosts lists to be auto-updated. Will be missed.
Unicon: Purely cosmetic but I love this module. IMO it's the ultimate "UI consistency" tool. Along with my icon pack of choice (Velur, hands down) my (Nova Prime backed) UI looks... appealing Too "specialized" to be baked into a ROM I would imagine. Will really miss this one.
Xposed Additions (pro): Please tell me that there are LP ROMS that enable key remapping... PLEASE! (Can't handle menu key = recents. It's WRONG I tells ya! WRONG!!!)
XuiMod: Another strictly cosmetic effect, but SO SWEET! Allows you to use animations from various ROMs, so.... yeah.
Huge thanks @VeNuMuS for allowing me to view to inability to use Xposed in a different light. LP, here I come :good:
@jazzmachine
Not having Greenify paid options is going to suck bad. Especially GCM push
If you guys miss Screen Filter you could always download Twighlight from the play store
I do not plan on moving off my current setup until/if Xposed is fully up & functional with TouchWiz & Lollipop.
Unless T-Mobile is making Lollipop make my phone have secks w/ me... Nope, nah ah. Can't live without Xposed! :silly:
Don't use exposed. Don't see the value. Never have, never will

Found out how to change this..
You can use Root Explorer:
Make sure you grant root and Mount R/W
Then go to /system/usr/keylayout
Modify file Generic.kl
Look for "Key 254"
Change it to Menu, Save, exit, and reboot.
Now I need to figure out how to change double press home to launch recent apps.

MoKee OS 60.1 [titan] suspicious activity. Brut or personal data flow possible

Today I've investigated suspicious activity from FMRadio.apk on the latest update of the system.
So I followed whois to discover IPs Firewall managed to block.
There are possibilities of brut attacks or personal data flows.
Stay away from this Chinese little present.
That's the answer to out donates guys.
Pissed off.
LoL. That's nice. How you figured out there is some data flow in the background? Just just started capturing the packets?
http://cyberwarzone.com/malicious-history-of-119-90-35-243/
At first I noticed high battery drain and high data usage. Investigation led me to the app that uses much processor time.
So I installed firewall and set an aggregative rules.
And voilà.
Also there are another dark IPs on the list.

Wow that's interesting, nice find. I always suspected Chinese OS leaked info through a backdoor, that's why I've never flashed them. Did you report it to the mokee maintainers?
Thanks for pointing this out, this is really weird. To be fair, I had a look and this FM Radio was directly forked off CM. If you want a fair comparison, you might wanna try to check on CM too (with similar setup of course).
EDIT: I did some extra research and AFWall+ did have this: "Q: I see data traffic consumed by application xyz which is blocked by AFWall+, why? A: It's possible false data traffic. AFWall+ uses IPtables which is at kernel level (low-level). Usage data shown by Android is calculated before it gets dropped by firewall."
So to prove that it's really FMRadio's fault (since interference is possible), a way is to do a test with clean install with nothing else. Feel free to voice your opinions, but I am not here to start a flame fest. I am interested in this weird behaviour too.

Anyway if that's not FM radio, why does kernel / low level software connects to black IPs?
Can not provide in-depth testing 'cause I stopped using MK immediately after that issue.

Something else must have triggered the connection (all high level requests gets completed at low level), but I actually checked those IPs, they aren't really blacklisted, most of them are cloud providers/university
For example:

Just fresh installed mokee, just wondering, why does it have to connect to servers to china and singapore all the time?
Another MoKee security issue
Android/AdDisplay.Waps.Q
I determined a lot of FMradio.apk´s in several ROM´s that ask for root privileges and was wondering why a FMradio needs those privileges.
Also firewall loging shows a lot of activity. I don´t use FM and always delete that apk but if someone is using it: Be careful and check out what´s wrong there.
PS; I don't know if that has anything to do with mokee, stating just about FM radio*s behaviour.

When We root and flash any ROM, or Modify OS, Or use Cracked apps, We understand every risk of data leaking. So Posting this useless post is useless. Learn something then Say ****.

When I tell this on Mokee google+ group the other day, that guy straight to insulting me, so I had to just shut up and laughing instead. He so insist that I'm dumb or noob. Hahaha. What a pathetic group.
It's clear that something fishy is going on, and with no privacy guard control over fm apk, we can't do much aside of freeze the fm apk, and watch for other possible sketchy things from the rom. So if we don't want our data going to "that place", well, I'd say no to Mokee.
As for that guy, he apparently like to insist that we have to surrender our private data when using custom rom etc, and he like to insult us if we don't.
Too bad. Unfortunately I am stuck on mokee because its the only one that still provides OTA Updates for the old Redmi 3 (Ido) after LineageOS dropped support.
I am not able to compile Android by myself.
For V500 and some other devices there is still https://www.los-legacy.de/ but nor for our old gem.
I am nor trying my best to restrict spy-activities using AF-Wall
best regards,

Getting rid of intrusive system apps...

I myself try to keep my phone clean and running perfectly which contributes to great battery life...I just had to do a clean install and with the amazing root SD maid app it helps me keep track of exactly how many items are running, stopped, and that are installed... if their system, user or actual library.
before I had to wipe my phone I had on an average 36 items running in the background which is phenomenal. My phone performed perfectly... I could easily get 3 days and 8 hours sot....
What I use is an old app called "Total Commander "what's funny is it hasn't been updated for ages. Sometimes it won't uninstall everything unless you open the folder and uninstall the app itself.. It unmounts gets rid of it and then remounts ...I tried uploading some videos that I took doing it but this crappy XDA app won't allow me to do it it keeps failing if anyone has any questions just ask.... Nevertheless here's a couple screenshots before during and after but, to say the least I think everyone should have SD maid and total commander on their phone unless you prefer to run modules that can do it all for you... Those that thinks this is nonsense and please don't leave smart remarks just pass it up and laugh if you will I'm just sharing what has kept my OnePlus 6t in Tip-Top shape...
also I've done a lot of research on what certain apps are there for such as OnePlus device manager odm what a joke who would wants their info sent to China every 6 hours every day I mean come on. Lmao...
These screenshots are with the app. The app being deleted and then the third screenshot is showing you that the app is no longer there...
Also if you don't feel safe deleting the app you can create a folder on the internal storage I make my system apps folders in my Download folder and just move to that folder that way if you're paranoid and you think something may happen wrong you can just move it back....
believe me I've deleted everything that can possibly be deleted and the only thing that's happened is my phone runs way better.??
Yeah like this is exactly what I want on my phone ????
I'm not here to stomp toes or be a prick...I just feel people should really know what is on their phones and I believe everyone has the right to be enlightened and have their eyes opened and I'm hoping that this will help people out.

I agree. One of the reasons I don't run OOS is because of the absurd number of trackers and other stuff they have. A lot of their System Apps are Trackers and removing some of them causes a Bootloop. So I just prefer to run an AOSP ROM.
BTW, MiXPlorer from XDA works perfectly fine for removing apps from /system. It can also delete the Folders. Just make sure you don't have any Magisk Module that modifies System otherwise it won't work. I also had a Custom Debloater that would remove all apps that can be removed but I no longer have it. In my opinion, running AOSP is much better than OOS. Waay less tracking services and better Privacy and Battery.

Yeah I will eventually... I have to make up another list I wiped my phone the other day and forgot about saving that list... But if you don't want to wait the best thing to do would be download xXx no limits and then go through the profile that comes with that zip and that gives you a good idea of what you can and can't get rid of.

Here's a list thanks to Tomatot Debloater. You might just want to use that..There's a thread or you can just delete them one by one like I do...I just prefer to do it that way so if something goes wrong I could just move the system app right back...that's why it's good to just delete the app from the folder that way you can place it back in the folder where It came from...

AntHal is used for connecting to Fitness Devices like Bluetooth Smartwatch & Fitness Bands. Photos Online is OnePlus's Wallpaper app. Sort of. You can browse photos clicked by the Community and set them as a Wallpaper. Both are pretty useless. Unless you use them. In that case, they are not useless.

Your best bet is Tomatot's Debloat Script. It is available in the Cross Device Development section. Mine was based on that, just customized to my needs. It's actually pretty easy to customize it and Tomatot has a done a good job at explaining it in the OP.
Using this is generally unnecessary. I think there's easier ways to get rid of system apps and not have to rely on an app to do it for you. Just install a terminal emulator. Then run these few commands.
$su
#mount -o rw,remount /
#cd /system/app/
#rm -rf name-of-app-folder/
#cd /system/priv-app/
#rm -rf name-of-app-folder/
#reboot
This is just a quick way to accomplish the same thing if you run into problems with an app. If you mess anything up, reflash rom and it will restore all system apps again.
Apps I recommend to definitely get rid of are OPcommon log tool,OPbugreportLite..
all ODM ,,(OnePlus system service) and OnePlus System Service manager...all items on that list are safe to get rid of..
Although I recommend you to look into it yourself for educational reasons..
I got 10.3.2 running smooth and all junk ( intrusive bloat) removed and so far this update seems good to go...
