Hello,
I have to write this thread to tell everybody how angry I am at the OnePlus One Tech Support team. I bought the Oneplus One 64 GB Black version last November. It is an awesome phone in my opinion. Only $350 with awesome hardware. Bravo to OPO for making this phone. However, I did not realize that it has a crucial bug. If you let the phone battery run to 0% and let it die. Then it won't recharge. Last Friday, I went out with my friends and I came home late. My OPO ran out of juice and died. I plugged it in to recharge. Waking up the next morning, thinking the phone will be fully charged. Instead, I got a dead brick. The phone refuses to charge. I have tried all methods. Let it sit for 2 days, then plug it back in again, hoping the low battery screen will show up. But nothing so far has worked.
So, I decide to contact OPO Tech Support Team, and my experience has been so infuriated. My goal is for me to turn the phone on and recover my data. I did not think that the phone will die just because it runs out of battery so I have left a lot of important data in the phone. I need to turn it on and recover the data at least before I can do anything to it. I have stated this to the Tech Support Team several time, but they don't seem to care. This is their last email response to me:

Hi XXXX,
Sorry for the inconvenience. Regarding the issue we would like to perform fastboot on your computer ( device connected via USB cable ) to resolve the issue. My colleague would do it for you by taking a remote access of your computer. Please notice that we are not available to do a remote session without booking the time.
Could you please back up all your important files and information, as the process will erase all data on your phone? Our colleague will type in some commands on to your computer to which your phone will be connected. It will flash the whole kernel and OS.
Please not that we need Windows Machine in order to fix this device. (Windows 7 or above)
Also please download these files and tool on your computer before our colleagues can take the remote.

This shows total incompetence. They don't even read what I wrote to them. I stated several time that the phone won't turn on when I try to recharge (no low battery screen, just black screen after 6 hours) and I need to recover my data. It makes my blood boil when they don't even bother to read what I wrote. Instead, they give these script response. I am at my wit's end. I need to fix the phone ASAP. I read online that I can open the phone, disconnect the battery connection and reconnect it again. Then, it will recharge. I have watched the video showing how it is done and it is quite simple. I have fixed phones before and the step to open up and disconnect the cable is quite simple. I think I can do it easily. However, there is a warranty sticker on the phone. I don't want to remove it and then having OPO turn around and tell me that the phone is broken because I open it. The phone is dead. Completely dead. If you don't believe me, watch this video:
https://youtu.be/-7ZzMf2p6Cg
Sorry for the bad quality and the annoying voice ( that is my voice). I have to record the video using my sister's tablet. They made me record that video to show how dead the phone is. I need some tips and help on how to fix this. If it is a working solution, I want to try it. Please don't tell me to check my charger or plug in the phone to charge and stuff, I have tried those steps countless times already. It does not work. The low battery screen won't even show up.
Thank you for reading my rant.

If you havent already tried it, try plugging in to a low power USB source (PC/laptop, TV with USB port/etc) to charge slowly. Sometimes it can help replenish a drained battery better than a mains source for some reason and bring the phone back to life.
Mod Edit: Please try to use "hide" tags when quoting long posts. Especially an Opening Post. Or don't quote the Opening post, even better. Thanks!
I never thought of what the battery contain. Is it lithium-ion or is it nickel cadium? However your battery like all batteries contain a memory. Find a batteries plus before trying to take remove the battery. They may be able to refurbish the battery like removing the memory. If not your just got to have to duck up the warranty and remove the old battery install a new one. Tech support for most companies is useless. They hire kids right put of college that have no real world experience and never seen real issue with the oneplus one.
I know it appears that the phone is dead but try this.
Connect the phone to a USB port and hold up volume and depress the power button for about 20 seconds. You might see a new device driver notification in Windows.
If you do, the the phone is looking to be bulk loaded with a low level utility.
Don't assume they're stupid or not listening, techs need to be able to diagnose the problem if they're to help.
Seriously, have you seen the stupid crap end-users do with their phones?
Trust me they do read but they are required to go through the most tedious and annoying protocols to out you off or eventually solve the problem with the most minimal impact (money wise) and once they have been through every single option to avoid giving you a replacement they will give you one unless your phone is repairable for cheap, its annoying but its how most companies operate sadly.
FYI.. if you get the new hardware notification in Windows, then the download files they have provided you with have everything you need to fix it yourself.

I tried your tip of holding the power and volume up for 20 seconds while connecting it to Windows PC. I got nothing. Absolutely nothing. I hold it for 2 full minutes. Still nothing. Try 3 times with different time intervals. Still nothing.
I don't think my phone can be fix with a software fix now. If the PC can't recognize the phone, I don't think you can even fastboot it. The phone is unresponsive to all kind of power button press combination.

I have not tried to connect it to a lower USB source yet. I will try it and let you know.
Check your USB cable. Sounds like one of the contacts may be bent. Also try holding down the power button as you plug it in.

I think my Touch HD is Dead I am not sure about it too because i can't seem to power it on ... So anyone with some idea before i call the HTC
Open the back cover and press the little red reset button.
Hopefully that works. Mine sometimes will do that, and reset fixes it.
Thanks for the replay mate I tried it still its not powering on
Perhaps the battery has died, tried plugging the power cable in?
Actualy, i have my new HD dead after two weeks working. Two days ago my battery didn´t charge and orange led stops after a few seconds of plugg charger. Seller has sended today a new battery to try it. No success. Friday i´ll receive a new device to change them. It seems problem is due to internal charging circuit. I´ve had "good lucky" because my HD has crashed before 15 days. One day more and i must to call HTC services and wait for 1 month at least. In Spain HTC service is very slow..
Good lucky!

of course as a citizen of an EU member country, your sale contract is with the supplier and not HTC so go see them and get a replacement
might have to do some research first so you get your argument together
read this page: http://europa.eu/scadplus/leg/en/lvb/l32022.htm
especially:
"Consumer goods must be in conformity with the contract of sale.
*snipped*
The seller is liable to the consumer for any lack of conformity which exists when the goods are delivered to the consumer and which becomes apparent within a period of two years unless, at the moment of conclusion of the contract of sale, the consumer knew or could not reasonably be unaware of the lack of conformity."
In my case, the difference into 15 days and 16 days is that i can get a new device quickly before 15 days running or i must to contact after 15 days with HTC service (with RMA protocol, etc) and send my device to repair/change. I know i have two years of guaranty but when i say "good lucky" is due to fast time of solution of my problem. 3 days is not 1 month..
So, it´s better work hard with our new devices as soon as u have them in your hands. If they must crash, better be soon..

I happy Guys !!!
My Touch HD suddenly Risen from Death and its working Great as ever now ..... I can't say how thankful i am to all you guys for your kind words and advises
THANKS GUYS
I think My Laptop made it to sleep a bit longer after i unplugged and plugged into a power outlet it started it self
My Touch HD is dead too
I have been struggling with my HTC Touch HD which I got less than a year ago. It suddenly shut down. I tried to recharge the battery, master reset, and everything you can think of. And nothing can keep it on for couple minutes.
I suspect it is the battery. I have order a new battery. Hope it will work. If it is the charging circuit, I will have no hope but get a new phone.
Can anyone verify HTC Touch HD has a charging circuit problem? BTW, my bluetooth and radio went out several months before, and now the whole thing goes out.

How did you fix your Bluetooth?
Mine is having a problem now. It doesn't activate when I put it to "ON". However, when I restart my phone, the bluetooth icon at the top of the screen is on indicating that bluetooth is active. However, when I try to disactivate it from Communication Manager, it shows that bluetooth is actually off. Any idea what's wrong with it?
My phone now doesn't boot up. When I switch it on, it just vibrate as if the phone is switching on but there's nothing on the display. The battery is fully charged. Previously, when I switch it on it says "Microp Mismatch 0. Please update your Microp's firmware". I manage to get into bootloader and flashed ROM with XANNYTech's Leo 2.5 and used it for about a day before it died. Anyone help please?
My phone, which I've had since waiting in line on March 24th quit on me today. I'm not sure if it was the culprit but, I installed a program called Lookout mobile security last night 5/6. When I started the phone this morning put it on the table, got some java and when I got back nothing..no buttons working...ok..no problem tried a soft reset...nothing..ok now starting to get worried. pluged into power source..boot up screen. whew..low battery. then blank, a few seconds..boot up screen AGAIN!..by now I'm in full freakout...Attempted to calm down.. didn't work..thought ok..most everything is backed up..lets do a hard reset..didn't WANT to but anyway! Did the hard reset .. Still had the same problem...Had to pinch myself HARD to make sure this wasn't a nightmare. Went to the TMobile store and the associate put me in touch with technical support (they were Super) Going to give me a new phone but, have to wait until next Friday to get it...and then tweaking and rebuilding it to what I want...I should have been ready for this coming from an iphone...All it takes is one $%@# program again, not saying it was the one mentioned above but, one with a malicious code or something that destroyed over five weeks of building a phone from scratch. Sorry about the rant... I still LOVE this phone. .
so you couldn't even boot it in to the bootloader? wow! Maybe you should flash HardSPL before trying to install that program again as there is far less chance of bricking it if you have HardSPL installed. Even if the rom gets completely stuffed, you can still boot it and reflash from SD.
All I can recommend is install a ROM via Micro SD card and maybe doing a Task 29 before you reinstall a ROM
for US Tmobile: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
For Leo: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
Or maybe try this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=668347
If those don't work then I don't know what else to recommend
They want my old phone back once I get the new one so, I'm going
to let them have it just as I turned it on yesterday. Let them
find out what the problem was created by.
I was about to install that "lookout" software...but after reading this I might as well hold on.
did you leave it on the charger overnight or did you just turn on your phone in the morning.
if you didnt have it charge all night, maybe all you needed to do was leave it on the charger a little longer before starting it back on.
i noticed that some phones with a dead battery and on the charger will sometimes not stay on until it has gotten a minimum charge on the battery.

Setting up the new phone shouldn't be a big deal if you did actually backup; just stick the old microSD in the new phone and run whatever backup app you had on the card.
I put it on the power supply and it is in the constant loop of
the first screen that appears. I am going to seriously look into
HardSPL. Thanks to all the good input from everybody.
Well now even customer service is at a loss. They cannot phantom why why two separate phones have the same problem. While I had CS on the phone we went thru various senario's to try to get the phone to operate properly. I even had them give me a new SIM card and that did not work...I suggested the problem might be the battery as it could have gone bad. You guys think the phone is playing hard to get--try to find a replacement battery! No stores within a 20 mile radius had one in stock....! Needless to say they are going to ship me yet another phone. plus a new battery and hopefully it will take care of the problem. The sales associate did a hard reset on both my old and the new phone without results so that unfortnately is not a viable solution. Now I am in the game I hate the most........The waiting one! ..

^^ what the op says above. This happened to me (and my gf as well) on our HD2s. The first time (mines) this happened, i hooked it up onto my car charger and immediately tried to turn it on.. it would go onto the TMO screen, but quickly shut down and loop. After realizing I may be trying to jump the step, I unhooked it from the charger, took the battery off, put it back on, hooked it back onto the charger and let it sit for about 10-20 minutes charging. Turned it back on and viola! It wasn't a brick.. I can almost guarantee this is your problem.
But I may be wrong lol...
So, now after 2 replacement phone sent to me, I find out that
it was the battery all along. Problem is that after the second phone
arrived and I had the same problem I called customer service and
explained it to them....They said a battery would be sent next day
air...Ok...called the next day and was told that the rep never sent
in the order...Long story short....I've almost been without my phone
for two weeks now and, all I need is a frelling battery.
Problem is there are NONE around me..I've tried every tm store in
the area, All radio shacks batteries plus...you name it....
I am being sent a battery UPS ground...could take 7 more days.
Just took the battery from my fiance's phone and it works
so, right now I would pay a ransom for a battery just to have my
phone back!
I had to do a hard reset after downloading that lookout trial.
at this point I don't know what caused it..Has anyone ever heard
of an application causing the battery to go bad?...I worked really
hard to keep the battery I had in good condition.. I hope UPS
delivers soon!
This is odd I have used Lookout Mobile on my phone since I had it. Mind you not had it for long, since April but still its never bricked or did anything that hindered the phone. I maybe another program.
Hi Guys (and possibly even Gals)
I haven't been on in quite some time so forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I would also like to apologise in advance for the length of this post.
I really hope somebody can help. I used to have a branded Vodafone SE X10i which I debranded for obvious reasons (I'm not bloody waiting for a lifetime for updates because vodafone and there customer service are ****e) and everything was fine and dandy in the world. However I then lost my phone and had to have another issued which of course was branded but that didn't bother me because at the time it had the latest software on it. When SE sent me an email to say that 2.1 was here I was of course over joyed, that is until I found out that vodafone were once again with holding it for "testing" purposes for an apparently undeterminable amount of time. Naturally my "Voda-rage" came back with a vengance and I immediately set out to de-brand my handset once again only to find that with recent updates SE had made to PC suite and SEUS the old method I had discovered no longer worked. I tried a different method involving switching files during the update download (using SEUS) of which there is a tutorial which I have put the link to in my signature. I was unable to get this method to work for me and after 10 attempts gave up and went to "www.fastgsm.com" after reading a comment from someone having similar problems.
Now this is where I have the problem.
I paid for the debranding and they let me download a client that was supposed to flash the phone for me and put the generic uk software onto it. Everything went fine and when the program has finished it told me to unplug my phone and start it up, the only problem is that I can't, the phone will no longer switch on. The screen clearly illuminates slightly but the phone never actually starts. I did this last night and thought that perhaps I just needed to wait a while but after leaving it all night the battery just drained and the phone never started up. The phone also doesn't charge anymore, it charges enough power to try and switch the phone on, pauses to switch the phone on and of course never starts up and just sits there till the battery drains again and the cycle continues. I have e-mailed the site but have not heard anything back and I'm just hoping that somone out there is able to come up with a solution that doesn't include claiming on my insurance again!
Any and all help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated (apart from the dumb ones....only kidding please help LoL)
Kind Regards
John Murchie
Aaaahh you should have read all the threads here first! The old method for debranding using SEUS doesn't work anymore.
You could have used the flash tool (free) method to flash the X10i 2.1 Global firmware or another X10i version, just do a quick search here and you'll find different files to download.
Now it may be too late because you need your battery to be at least 50% charged when you flash a phone, might be worth a try, but remember, the X10 won't charge in flash mode (when you boot holding "Back").
I hope someone else has a solution for the battery problem, if you can get it charged, using flash tool your problem is solved.
Thanks for you input. I did look around here briefly for a solution but after trying to sort it out myself I eventually gave in and just went with the easy option of paying. only cost me £6 as well so it wasn't all that bad! I'm not really sure how I can charge the battery up either as I don't know anyone who has the phone that I could get to charge it or swap batteries. Could try Vodafone but I don't see them being all that helpful really LoL
Kind Regards
John Murchie
When you plug the charger in do you get the charge light ?
Sent from my spectrum zx
When I plug it into the charger I get a flashing red light and then after a few minutes it becomes a constant green light and then a few minutes later the light goes out and it tried to switch itself on. A few minutes later ( I assumes because the battery gives out) the screens goes dark again and the red light starts flshing and the process starts again!

To be fair, it doesn't come much easier than putting the phone in flash mode and running a flash tool. Have you taken your battery out for at least 10 seconds?, if not do so, put it back in and turn the phone on.
Evidentely I'm more dense then most people then, aren't I. I have tried removing my battery for periods of time but unfortunately to no avail. Thanks for you input!
If the battery is so drained that it can't last the few seconds that is needed to boot to the charging mode then I would suggest you go the store and ask if you can charge the battery in their display phone. 10 minutes will do to get you going.
Yes I was thinking that, only problem is the phone shops around here can be rather ****ty to say the least LoL. I'm going to pop into town and give it a go though. Be a shame to have to claim on my insurance!
I have heard back from the site that supplied the program and they asked me to send the log file and then got back to me saying that everything worked fine on there end!
Obviously it didn't or I wouldn't be having this issue >_< LoL
Hello Everyone!
My phone has recently developed a rather strange fault, Here are the symptoms:
1. Charging, My device doesn't seem to charge over 62/63%
2. Charging/USB connection is intermittent
3. Driving mode activation flickers
4. Device random shut downs
5. Freezing
After a discussion with Samsung customer service (UK) today I was informed that there is a known power fault with the device causing the above issues (mainly 1,2 & 3)
After some online research some people seem to associated it with the phone becoming wet, I can confirm that my phone has become slightly "damp" but at no point has my device ever really become wet.
I'm sorry if this has been posted before, But I thought it would give some other users some help with issues regarding this.
At the 31 december i was outside partying and there was alot of humity and my note started like crazy saying it was charging without the usb cable plugged in, this happened when having the phone in my pants. Netherless to say it scared me! When i got home i removed the batery for 10 min and never happened again... I was scared they'd cancel the warranty because of humidity or something. The note should have come with a plastic protection for the usb entrance...

My problem is with number 1,3 and 5, but now the usb port is totally dead. I would send it in for repair, but I don't know where my Note came from. I called US/Canada and no one is able to assist me. I beginning to have some regret with these grey market stuff now.
Next stop, emailing germany, hopefully i'll have better luck. but for now, I have 3 spare batteries with external charger, and driving hasn't pop up since the factory reset, but usb port still dead. At least it's not a totally brick, so it's not all bad I guess.
Hello guys,
I have a very strange but really bad problem: my omnia7 can't stay in standby.
When I press the power button, to turn off the screen and go in standby (so not the full turn off), my Omni7 wakes up alone, going on the unlock screen. In the same time, the phone rings with the ring that is played when you connect the phone for charging.
I've tried reboot, reset, hardreset, removing the sim-card, turning on/off "battery saver options" ... still that issue :crying:
Anyone has an idea?
I've flashed with a cooked rom (xda-devs Omnia7 Tango V4.0)
my current config :
OS version : 7.10.8779.8
hard version : 3.1.0.4
soft radio version : 2424.11.7.2
hard radio version : 0.0.0.800
loader version : 4.10.1.9
SOC version : 0.36.2.0
Thanks to any ideas, because that problem is killing me
my phone started doing this late last night too! i thorght it was because rain had gone into the power socket but if others are having same problem at the same time maybe not?
has your phone been exposed to water at all recently? is your phone jailbroken? cant realy think of other reasons
the problem stops when the phone is plugged in. is there anything that can trick the phone to thinking it is on charge? I have wphtweaks installed but the options there are not able to stop it
Hi,
I can't remember if my phone has been wet :/ I take care, so my phone never received water. But when I'm outside, under the rain, it's possible.
Today it was better, just a few times my phone wakes up alone.
I'll give you feedback in the next days. Let me know about yours
I managed to trick my phone into silence a few times earlier but it was difficult and then only lasted 5-10 minutes.
if yours didnt get wet it seems unlikely to do with water but I left mine ontop of the aga after removing the battery and over a relativly cool part. A few hours later and it seems to be working fine now.
I will report back if the issue arises again.
EDIT: Ahhhh!! STOP THE RINGING!!! started again this morning
Mine too !
This morning ... the ringing awakening problem !!!!!
But it was better this afternoon.
Really I don't know what happens.
Are we only two persons in the xda world with this problem????
this is realy weird now! mine was doing it in the morning but since about 12pm - 1pm it has been fine! I feel like its something to do with an installed homebrew app maybe.
I also have a custom rom but mine was flashed a long time ago and much older than yours. not sure which version
EDIT (1:10pm GMT): no problems since yesterday
EDIT2 (1:30pm GMT): again i spoke too soon!
Did you guys get this problem sorted out? Had the same problem recently and tried all the suggestions in other threads (bend USB pin, Reset/Restore Device etc) but nothing fixed it, so after being woken at 3am by constant charging tone, took to T-Mobile shop. They said it was a software problem. I said I'd tried all that and the most likely cause I'd seen on the internet was a duff USB port.
Anyway, T-Mobile sent it off for repair and 7 days later - returned and fixed. The repair sheet said software upgrade, but the phone had been reset to bog standard Phone 7, so unlikely. The T-Mobile repair tracking site (excellent) which shows blow-by-blow trace of what and where, showed initial software upgrade/no fix but I used their "contact us" facility to suggest a USB problem and by magic the repair tracking log showed a replacement USB port.
BTW - had to resort to an iphone and HTC android while Omnia was off for repair. Now I know why I like Phone 7 and can't wait for 8. The iphone GUI is so last decade and Android GUI is really just a copy of Windows 6.5 with XDA developers' tweaks isn't it.
Hi Wuzzok,
what do you mean by "bend USB pin" ?
Anyway, it seems like it's finished for me. I didn't get tht strange bug (soft/hard bug???) for a very long time. I just hope it's really over !
Same problem
Hi Folks,
I have the same problem, too. Yesterday afternoon on my way home the phone started ringing with the USB plug sound and always started up itself from standby mode.
As I have a custom ROM (mi7ROM) I first thought it could be a problem with the ROM - although I could not really believe it since it was running stable for months now. I flashed it again and nothing changed - still ringing and starting up itself
I managed to get rid of the sound by deleting the entry in the registry key "Local Machine\Current User\ControlPanel\Sounds\BatteryCharging\Sound" but that does not solve the real problem.
After reading here and in some other WP7 blogs I am sure that this is a hardware problem with the USB plug unit. As my phone is just 11 months old I opened an online ticket at "SAMSUNG online repair service" who promise to answer in the next 24 hours. So I just have to wait and see...

Samsung sent me an offer to send the phone in for repair - but what should I say, the problem solved itself. For two days now the phone works normal again. So I had to cancel the service call .
mine hasnt done it in a long time either. looks like its just a temporary thing. I wonder what caused it! For me it started after I was using my phone in the rain and the usb slide was open so thats my suspect.
You may be right. Mine is "quiet" now, since a long time. Water may be the cause.
Update
Hi folks,
mine is mostly quiet again, too. Only few incidents "happen" but they do not last very long - only a few minutes. It's somehow spooky but I do not want to send it in to Samsung now when the error it not constantly reproducible.
I agree with you that there might be a correlation with humidity although I am sure that it did never get wet and I almost always keep the USB-shutter closed. Who knows ...
Sent it in
Finally I sent it in for repair today. It started ringing permananently two days ago...
Now I have to wait and see.
Final state
Okay, I received it back... and it works.
First they did nod find and could not reproduce the failure and wanted to send it back - only with a new flashed image - but fortunately the technician called me and I could describe the problem again. After waiting a few hours, the fault appeared again and they decided to change the mainboard.
I hope, that's all
Hello,
Me too it makes me after my omnia 7 is dropped in water, but problem solved.
Me too

Are you really sure that the problem is USB port.. Mine too behave like this. I've tried to remove battery, factory reseting, reflashing ROM. But nothing works. Mine is Samsung focus
