Hi,
My Note 4 is feom Australia and after coming to Canada I realised that it's not working on few networks in Canada. I am surprised that an advanced phone like this is not working on global networks. Is there anyway I can make it work on Canada operators like Wind or Mobilicity?
please help.it saves me lot of money!
Ps: phone working on Bell/Telus and rogers but they are damn expensive.

Hi everybody.
I'm currently in Canada, but I'm from Europe. I noticed Bell is offering Samsung Galaxy S for only 500 CAD without contract (thats 380 euros) which is not much, and I'm really tempted to buy it. The trouble is Bell is CDMA carrier, and europe is GSM. Bells site claims that Galaxy S is "Global Phone" which should mean that it supports european GSM frequences (I Guess). Does anybody know anything about this ? Would this phone work ok in Europe? Would I be able to use GPRS/EDGE/UMTS data connections in Europe?
I was surprised at first but the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant from Bell is actually a GSM phone!
I'm reading straight from the box:
EDGE / GPRS / GSM Quad band AND HSPA Tri band (850/1900/2100).
So it rocks in Canada and Europe! On 3G and 2G!
I got mine from Best Buy for $560 (including taxes, still a good deal compared to Europe I think).
And now using a Fido monthly plan without contract ^^
Love it !

I recon you would get the best answer by asking a sales person in the store.
maybe even get it in writing incase it turns out to be bull****, so you can get a refund by shipping it back or something
3G runs on 850/1900/2100
you might only get the 1900 if you live in Europe
so it will be mostly 2G unless you are in good ares with 1900 signal to get 3G

If your really tricky, you will discover that the bell i9000m is actually a QUAD band gsm/wcdma phone.
850/900/1900/2100 WCDMA, and 850/900/1800/1900 GSM
The extra frequencies have to be enabled in the service menu though. (does not require root)
Hi,
I am kinda new to the android phone and need some advice about Samsung Vibrant.
Is it possible to fully use the phone, including HSPA, after unlock in other countries, such as Singapore ?
Anybody has ever tried this ?
Btw, I am on M1 network.
I understand there's difference in GSM band and 3G band among countries.
Personally I prefer Samsung Vibrant than the Singapore's Galaxy S I9000 because it's relatively cheaper (no secondary camera, which I don't need), and it has 4 soft buttons.
Thanks for your advice.
From what I can tell, it appears that M1 in Singapore uses the 2100/1900 bands for down/up. This is very typical of most European mobile phones, and luckily, all the T-Mobile US 3g smartphones also include these frequencies.
So simply, yes, it will (from what it appears with the info I can find) work on the 3g networks in your home country.
I am typing this from Singapore on my unlocked vibrant, using a local prepaid SIM from Starhub. 3g speeds are great.

Hi,
Thank you all for the quick reply, it's really helpful
T-Mobile Vibrant here in Japan on NTT Docomo with H and 3G working like a charm.
I have the european hd2..is there a way to use 3g? I am only using edge service..any type of hacks?
thanks
might help to tell us what country and network you use.
I live in Canada, using fido network.
It will not work. The NAM (North American Model) HD2 work in America while the European HD2s work in Europe. It's a hardware thing. You can't just "change" it and it will work. You'd need to buy one that works on Fido's network.
find out what band they are using, probaly find it wont get 3g on the phone
I'm a bit confused with all the different bands and the regional lock, sim card locks, model numbers, etc.
I got this phone while away in Thailand and was hoping to use it back in Canada. The only companies with decent plans here seem to require the 1700 band which isn't listed as a supported one on the N900 by default, but I see that other models can be made to work on it even though they don't list it either.
Is there any way to use the SM-N900 (International Exynos version) on Wind Mobile?
If not, what other options are there in Canada for ~$40 with usable data allowances?
In my country the Verizon version is $100 cheaper. Is there a catch? Will it work on supported band networks all over the world? Will in work on AT&T when I visit the USA?

As long as verizon version includes the bands that are used o your country you should be ok.
Yes it works on att while visiting USA but it will only work using band 4 if the area yo re visiting doesnt have this band then you wont have LTE. I have it and use ATT while visiting USA
