Stock countdown timer fix in update - ONE General

I thought this was worth mentioning. The XNPH05Q CM11 incremental update gave people the ability to change the stock timer to something else. The deafening shrill alarm can be changed with the new update.

the deafening alarm was not good enuf? it sure woke me up in the mornings

Cannot disable alarm on phone, HELP!

Ok this is really bugging the crap out of me. Last week I was messing around with my phone trying out the alarms that come with the standard rom, nothing special. I renamed one of the alarms "Travel" and set it to go off at 6:15am every morning of the week. I tried it out and it worked fine, etc. Long story short, now the stupid alarm is going off every morning, even though I unchecked it and even unselected every day of the week under the alarm properties. Any ideas???????

March 1st possible date bug

So, i have my Alarm on my nexus One set up to go off at 6:45AM every Workday (Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri)
Today it didn't go off, i woke up at 6:47AM as my alarm didn't go off (my internal watch is pretty good )
Usually it vibrates and gives the alarm tone. This morning.. nothing.
So after reading the news i saw that there was a huge Date Bug in the Playstation Network due to the leap year.
So i jumped to the conclusion that Android or the alarm app has a similar date bug.
Anyone experienced something similar? Any dev input here?
No date bug here. I literally watched it go from Feb 28 to March 1.
My alarm went off today.
strange.
what networks are you guys on?
I'm on AT&T.
EDIT: one more question, do you have the alarm set for every day or is it like me for each single day?

Weird. I have my alarm set for 6am PST today (M-F) and the alarm didn't go off either... Woke up at 6:24am after realizing my "rooster" alarm didn't go off.
I thought it was a fluke until I saw this thread. WEIRD.
(On T-Mobile USA, locked Bootloader, Stock ROM on this unit).
Cheers,
Kermee
so i guess it's carrier unrelated..

My Alarm did go off. I have my alarm set for 6am MST (M-F). I'm on Cyanogen 5.0.3.1.
My alarm went off at 06:50 (GMT) as per usual.
Mine worked the way it was supposed to, who needs alarm if internal alarm us as good as that? LOL.

all stock nexus, alarm went off at its normal time today
I've alarm set for Mon-Fri, it worked fine for me...
May be a shot in the dark, but if you're using a task killer be sure to have 'clock' excluded. Being that your alarms usually go off this is unlikely, but possible.
FWIW my alarm went off as scheduled at 745 EST
I have a weekday profile and a weekend profile. Alarm went off today at 7:30 per my weekday profile. No problems. Running Cy's latest 5.0.4.1.

alarm bug - goes off before it's due

Has anyone had this... for the last 2-3 mornings, both alarms came on some 3/4 of an hour before they were due. Even more strange, the fact that the time intervals are not constant: the 1st, due at 0924 went off at 0842; 2nd, due at 0939 went off at 0853. I've tried experimenting a few times this am, but haven't managed to make it happen again ---perhaps it needs to be resting overnight in order to get confused!
See what happens tomorrow morning. By the way, I suspect this has been happening ever since I changed the first alarm's tune from 'beeps' to 'classic'.
P.S.: And as with other users, notification sound comes on too, but that's not nearly as frustrating!
Cheers!
the alarm is USELESS. Don't waste your time with it, get galarm

Question about Lollipop "silent mode". Is it back?

Back when Lollipop ROMs first came out I tried one and realized the silent mode was gone. Did some research and it looked like a lot of people were upset that it was gone and did not like the new system for notifications. After one day on LL I went right back to KitKat and that's where I've been since. I like the fact that it doesn't matter if my phone is on ringer, vibrate, or complete silent mode... the alarm will still go off.
I am getting pretty bored not flashing anything and did some more research the other day and found a few different sites saying that Silent Mode was brought back for the GS5. Most of the links mention the UK phone and the actual build number of the update was G900FXXU1BOB7.
Looking through the forums it doesn't look like we have this build. Does anyone know if silent mode was brought back for the US GS5 and if so which update it was? Here is one article about it bring brought back.

Thanks!
I am not really understanding the "silent mode".
If I understand correctly, Google rewrote "Silent" mode when 5.0 came out so that ALL notifications were muted (including alarms). Then Samsung released an update that override the setting for GS5 that brought back the old system that was in previous android OS.
The way my current ROM works (5.0 latest Verizon)
Is that it does not matter if I have Ringer On / Vibrate / Silent, my alarm will go off.
At night I put my phone on silent but my alarm goes off the next morning just fine, which is the way I like it (so only my alarm disturbs me).
If you want a special combination though you can use the DoNotDisturb function

That's exactly how it works on KitKat. It was removed in Lollipop at first. You had to set the alarm as priority and make sure it was on the correct mode.

I just edited my post, did I understand correctly? I should note I use the default stock Clock app. I looked but do not see anything about priority.
If it helps I know Silent acted this way since OE1 (firmware my phone came with)

It sounds like maybe it did get brought back. I'm just gonna have to test it I guess. Here is an article talking about it being removed. If you search around there was lots of talk about it. Pretty much people were upset because they wanted their alarm to go off on matter what mode the phone was on

Alarm Wakeups

Hello everyone.
My question is very simple.
I'm using Custom ROM in my Redmi 2 Prime (AEX 4.1 to be more exact).
And today I was having 3 different alarms for morning.
Today, despite of 3 different alarms.
I got no alarm ring, even no alarm missing notification.
You may think, I may have close the alarm (in sleepy).
But no one at my home listened any ring.
Till now, whichever custom ROM, I've tried, I've never got this problem.
Please anyone can tell, why this happened?
As I use this device as my daily driver, and I'm a student.
So this issue matters to me.
As today it didn't ringed, may be tomorrow it'll also not ring.
I think, device gets into deep sleep mode. That it even forget to ring alarm.
