So im pretty much an idiot when it comes to this, but ive rooted since i had my google g1. Im a little more serious about it on my vibrant and I recently flashed the blackhole 1.1 ROM. When i backed up my stock rom in rom manager it disappeared when i flashed my phone. This wasn't because of a wipe because all of my other files remained and i had a titanium backup set up. Now my first question is can i still flash back to stock? and if so, how? Also can i flash to other roms through rom manager without consequence or could it result in a brick? Do i need to flash back to stock before flashing a new ROM? sorry if I posted this in the wrong area I havent posted much on XDA, any help would be appreciated.

Hi All,
After flashing new ROM, my first time, the device couldn't connect to the network due to missing IMEI.
I don't know how and why it was deleted.
I have tryied to revert back to the Stock ROM and the same.
I have no support from my service provider because the device is hacked...
Any solutions?
same case happened to me
hi there, just the same thing happened to me when I newly bought samsung galaxy S2, I did many trials to find a solution and a lot of internet research but I could not find any, and a lot of new flashes.
At the end, I re- installed again a stock ROM and went to the service shop where it is still under guaranty, the guys there did not know how to fix it back although they have contacted the VENDER (samsung firm), and at the end they replace it with BRAND New one, I was lucky.
However, when you get a new one, you have to back up a directory called "efs" using root explorer application (have to buy it from market),while u must be rooted, they folder includes the imei data needed, and if you have it already back it up some time back, try to restore it and may be you will have your imei back, (i could not dare to try this after i got the replacement).
My cousin had this problem when he flashed lite'ning rom 6.1 on his new galaxy s 2. I flashed it back to stock XXKH3 and imei and baseband returned. Tried flashing back to 6.1 and again went off so back to stock and everything working fine.
Try restore IMEI technqiues (part of my reserches atthat time):

Using the root explorer method I'm not sure you will be able to restore the IMEI if you corrupt the /efs folder. Have a look at this!
Dude, read the f**king rules!

If your /efs directory got erased due to a flash.. Short answer: Without a backup you cannot restore it. A support request from samsung maybe, but unlikely due to the modified nature of the device.

If only. It's funny how people lose their efs folder then come complaining and researching afterwards. All they have to do is simply back it up.
Return the phone to samsung under warranty and hope for the best OP.

for me, after installing Lite... Rom 6.1, i miss my IMEI, but after installing first rom(with three files!) of middle east, its back to me!!!
Lost IMEI
Are you sure the IMEI is realy lost? sometimes when the modem ****s up or compatibility issues.
I think maybe you should download only the modem which corasponds to the rom you are using, ie, use KH3 modem if KH3 ROM etc.
Give that a try my friend...dont forget to read the instructions in the other threads about the use of odin, I know this is not the appropriate place for this thread but there is no need to be agresive towards people who are learning the ropes
indeed try to flash back to stock rom and then root Backup your efs folder then try flashing a rom again.
i got this also that my Imei was gone flashed back to stock and it was back again.
Someone knows how to reproduce this?
I already have an efs backup but want to try to get a new sgs2 (yellow tint prob).
Cheers
Same here, have had Litening Rom 6.1 (for a couple of months already) and IMEI gone since this morning. The phone can't find the network anymore. It also has problems booting up sometimes. In some cases I need to pull the battery and boot it 5 times in a row before it boots past the first screen.
I guess I need to downgrade as well. (Or upgrade to the latest Litening version, but I'll first downgrade to the original firmware.)
on newer phones they have made it harder to fff up your imei the efs directory no longer exists and the data is saved in a private partition instead..
that is the way it is on my wifes galaxy s gio that i just setup..
just info for thought.
Hi guys... I have just returned to android after joining the other side. My last android device was an htc hero which was rooted and running a custom rom, but that was a very long time ago and android has moved on so much since then. I recently purchased a motorola atrix which was locked to t-mobile uk, I used an unlocking code to use on the o2 network. I then rooted the device. I have looked through the many many posts of how to unlock my bootloader and usually I wouldnt have any issues but many of the download links are down, so I read another method and the more I read the more I doubt myself.
please dont flame me, if somebody could spare a few moments i'd be very grateful...
my device details are as follows...
Model - MB860
Android Version - 2.3.4
system version - 45.31.2MB860.T-Mobile.en.GB
Baseband version - N_01.100.00R
Build number - 4.5.2A-74_OLE-31.2
Also, any good rom suggestions? I drive for a living so I use co-pilot sat nav alot, I also love taking pics and videos, so would like a rom that has working camera and video recording....
thanks again...
I am not certain with what your issues are with following the method in the sticky at the top of this thread. If some download is not working, seach around for the same file. It is all about getting the unlocked bootloader to flash.
AFAIK, the only way to unlock a moto phone is to flash a moto signed unlocked bootloader.
I do wonder if just burning the fuse would do the trick, but do not know either if it can be done or if it works. But I seriously doubt you want to go there.
Sorry guys.... The sticky somehow got linked to my question.... please ignore the sticky!!! I have no idea how that happened.
Ok, I managed to sort everything out... I'm running Nottach Trix4g custom rom.
But I did notice something whilst running rsd lite, I made sure that I followed the instructions exactly, my phone was detected and started to unlock my bootloader, all files extracted and for some reason on the last section my phone rebooted but the operation had not complete on rsd lite. So I tried again with the same thing happening, the device would reboot with no 'UNLOCKED' on the boot screen. After the second time I was alittle worried so checked the phone was working properly and noticed a decrease in performance. I then checked available memory and it was at 78mb free, even after rebooting with 200mb used!!!
Basically I ended up unlocking the bootloader via command prompt and it worked first time, I've made a back up of my stock rom and then went ahead and installed the nottach Trix4g custom rom, this rom has the ramfix as an option during install.
So right now after checking my running services I have 440mb free with 222mb used, does that seem right?
After I installed the new rom I let it settle for around 30mins before using the device.
It seems ok but what do the more experienced users think, have I messed something up?
yup sounds about right thats a good rom too
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Really happy with the rom too. If i was to change roms would I have to re-apply the ramfix?
thanks for your help.
hope this helped!!
depends if you have bell atrix AT&T atrix or international. all international users have to flsh the ramfix when needed. i have att atrix so i can flash either flaux123 clesmyns or cm9 kernels well depending on the rom. cm9 uses cm9 or flauxes123 kernel and gingerbread uses gb kernels.
oh ok, I see..... im from the uk so I had to flash ramfix. Does that mean that even if I was to flash a stock rom that I'd still have to flash ramfix, or would it be back to normal? I suppose what im trying to say is, using the method I used to unlock my bootloader have I damaged the ram in anyway?
Whats the best ics custom rom available at the moment?
Thanks again....
No by unlocking the boot loader you didn't mess up anything. You just voided your warranty. Now if you were to put stock rom u don't have to flash ram fix. If it boots up and passed the boot logo then you're good. But if it stays stuck on boot logo for more than 2 minutes then logically u need to apply ram fix. U can flash any ATRIX rom. If it gets stuck then u need ram fix. And best ics rom as from right now will be the one from jokerjax.com.

thanks guys, I really appreciate your help. All seems to be running surprisingly well with the new rom.
now to try cm9.....
Not a Dev, but not a Noob, either. Formerly had a SGH-i897 Galaxy S for 3 years and flashed like crazy on it, while transitioning from Eclair to Froyo to Gingerbread to ICS to Jellybean, mostly using the fine offerings from the AOCP Collective folks. While familiar with Odin, CWM was my usual go-to utility.
Upgraded recently to a SGH-i337 Galaxy S4. Must have owned it for two, maybe three hours, before I rooted it with MotoChopper. This allowed me to re-install Titanium Backup. I left it as merely rooted, while I read up on CWM and some new-fangled thing called TWRP, which I wanted to get installed before casting about for a new ROM. (At the time, AOCP did not have an offering here, or it would have been a no-brainer for me.)
One morning, I turned on the phone and noticed it was doing an OTA update. . . . . . . . .
Mildly curious, I logged onto XDA to read what the community thought about the update, only to discover that I had missed all the dire warnings by a day and my (now) version I337UCUAMF3 ROM had it's boot-loaders locked from a blown Q-Fuse, courtesy of Samsung and AT&T.
Took me a week before I found the rooting solution from jortex, but thankfully, I'm now rooted again.
This background now leads to my questions:
I have ROM Manager Premium (from previous purchase) but have not installed it.
I was aware on my previous SGH-i897 that mixing the Gingerbread and Jellybean boot loaders was like, a Bad Thing when flashing ROMs and would promptly brick the phone.
Does CWM require the ability to load from a boot loader?
I know it creates an update.zip file to restore the original ROM, and usually does so by using whatever ROM is installed at the time.
So wouldn't it just create an update based on the I337UCUAMF3 ROM?
Even if I can't flash new ROMs (unless or until somebody comes up with a Q-Fuse Fix) couldn't I at least have all the recovery and .zip flashing of apps and cache clearing menu choices available to me from CWM?
Or would the act of just installing CWM on a I337UCUAMF3 ROM immediately brick my phone?
In Other Words, how close can I dance to the water's edge?
Been to the ROM Manager web site and they claim I can do any thing at any time.
(Easy for them to say: It ain't THEIR phones!)
Been searching these threads and can't come up with anything explicitly stating yea or nay.
So far, I have been happy enough with the TW stock ROM, but I always felt better being able to boot to recovery to fix things, on those few occasions I got just a leeeeeetle too close to the Bleeding Edge!
What is the consensus out there?
Will CWM 6.0.3.6 bork a I337UCUAMF3? Yes or no?
Would appreciate any thoughts that might enlighten me! :fingers-crossed:
It sure could brick the phone, the only thing you can do at the moment is root. I have seen a couple people try running a recovery on it, and it required a jtag service to restore the device.
Be careful.

This phone is far different from the Captivate. There is no flashing anything on MF3. Basically you are waiting for a work around if that is even possible.

Hello
INFO
I've installed the echoe rom version 22 http://echoerom.com/roms/echoefull/note-3/ on my phone ( samsung note 3 [n9005])
(with a the AEL kernel don't know if this is usefull info http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/mods-xxugbnl8-t2986519) )
also I've changed the bootloader to the appropriate Found on the XDA forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2495688
BL_N9005XXUGBNL8_CL3643614_QB3415922_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
I've changed my modem to CP_N9005XXUGBNL8_CL3643614_QB3415922_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 (which was a bad decision no 4g/lte anymore)
I've upgraded my recovery from cwm 6.0.4.6 to cwm 6.0.4.7
I did a back of my imei and efs just in case something would harm it and render my phone useless.
Problem:
Now I'm wondering can i go back to, either Stock 4.4.4 or a custom rom
I want to do this because the Rom is too new and not all apps i want to use, such as xposed framework and many other are unsupported. (which i should have checked before flashing)
Plus I'm not enjoying this rom due to many crashes, such as Unified Daemon (EUR)(needed for weather updates etc) and limited mobile data speeds and many mobile data disconnections, also I notice my Note 3 is running slower while using less ram than before which is very odd..
Many thanks in advance!
P.S.
I have all the files online I've made an online back up of them so which I always do for repairing purposes none of them is altered or tampered with by me.
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum.

Yes u can!!!!flash your stock rom with Odin and everything will be fine!!!
HIT THE THANKS BOTTOM IF I HELP YOU IN ENYWAY!!!!!
I was trying out some lollipop roms and in my stupidity didn't think about not being able to go back to kitkat.
After finding that a few apps I use don't like lollipop i thought I'd revert back, I went into recovery and tried to flash the kitkat rom, but it would keep failing. Panicking I remembered the nandroid backup. I restored my older kitkat rom and all worked well... Phew!
Moral of this story is always backup.
I'm now back on a lollipop rom, (audax) as so far everything is working like clockwork. But I still have my nandroid backup just in case
Lucky you! ;-p i don't have a nandroid ba-up but i do have the stock rom 4.3 somewhere i might try that after my exams are over! Thanks!

Well I haven't tried it but if a nandroid works a clean install via odin or the cmd way should overwrite everything on your device so if you follow a tutorial for restoring your device to stock you should be ok i think BUT I haven't tried it so please ask around some more.
