[Q] Change Sub key to menu button - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Is there any way to change Galaxy s5 left side sub key into menu button?
Like it was on Galaxy S4.
I know holding for a second opens the menu but i want it to work just by touch.

You can remap the key if you root, or theres an option in xposed modules such as gravitybox(also requires root)

Yes and I m looking an app that can do it on lollipop, every search on xda comes up with results not for lollipop

Open /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl and change.
Should be working fine though. Like it worked before lollipop.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

I didn't try that but key 580 APP_SWITCH could do the trick.
Dont forget to backup the file before editing!
No guarantee.
UPDATE: Also found the "sec_touchkey.kl" with the entries "APP_SWITCH VIRTUAL" and "BACK VIRTUAL".
The "gpio-keys.kl" comes up with "key 254 APP_SWITCH".
You may try those also!
Best regards!

Extended power menu for 4.3

Hi,
I've just flashed the 4.3 deodexed image. I'm looking for an extended power menu mod. Is there any for 4.3? If yes, I would appreciate a link.
Thanks!

Install the xposed framework app then install modaco toolkit. All can be found in xda just search for their titles

I installed both. The modaco option for power menu doesn't work. Other options work though, like battery percentage.
Any advice?

I have "Extended Power Menu" installed from the playstore and it works perfectly on 4.3 but you need to be rooted. I have SuperSU v1.45 installed for root.

Your Android Version has an extra period (.) in it as well.
It might be from a rom or xposed module you're running. Its weird. If it doesn't affect the functionality of the phone then I would say dont worry about it.
Edit:
Open Root Explorer and go to System. Long press on built.prop and choose "Open in text editor". Look for "ro.product.model=SM-N900Z" and change the Z to a V. Click menu and save. Reboot and you're all set. Click thanks if I helped ?
Sent from my Galaxy Note 3 ?
That worked. I fixed the extra . In version as well.
I lost samsung apps....is the apk anywhere?

If you're on Omega download Xposed Framework, then install GravityBox. After you've installed everything and rebooted, enable Navigation Bar Tweaks.

Will Gravitybox work with PhoenixROM, or do I need a separate app? I think I tried it once but not sure why it didn't work and messed up my system, had to restore my backup. Thanks.

Wake up phone using volume rockers

Hi guys so I wanted to wake my phone either using the volume up or volume button key so I'll have 3 ways of waking up the phone (home, power button, volume up/down). I'm running Albe95 Lollirom V9 so basically using the Lollipop version of this phone. Thanks in advance
Xposed and GravityBox unless the ROM has some tweaks that allows just that.
