Hello, I have a little problem with my n4. I unlocked bootloader, after i rooted my phone, all data on phone was erased, so I wanted to encrypt my phone again, it was weird because it lasted 5 minutes. I think its to short to encrypt phone, but the phone in setting show "encrypted". It is possible to encrypt all system in 5 minutes? I am using android 5.0.1 , root,bl made by Nexus Root Toolkit. Thanks for all answers

I tried to encrypt my device without any success. The encryption took forever (more than 13 hours), so I restarted the phone in the middle of the process. Now the phone works fine and I did not lose any data but the device is not encrypted. What am I doing wrong? Some technical information is below.
Encryption method: settings -> security -> encrypt device

Android 6.0.1
Rooted
Don't try to encrypt a rooted phone or you'll have trouble. You can encrypt your rooted phone, but...
- first you’ll have to unroot it.
- then go through the encryption process.
- and finally, re-root it again.
I hope that helps you.
Accidentally deleted pictures from my unrooted Google Nexus 6p. Tried Dr Fone Wondershare but the 'one click root' function doesn't work (emailed them and they confirm that this device is not fully supported currently).
Is there any way I can currently recover my pics without rooting? If I do root will this overwrite the data making any data recovery impossible? Any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated as this happened a week ago and the more I use my phone the more likely it is that the data will be permanently overwritten making any future recovery extremely unlikely.
Hi, I just upgraded my note 4 which I bought from Singapore (singtel) to android 6.0.1 recently using OTA.
But just after the update, I got a bunch of issues coming out of it.
First, issue on getting the phone on from screen off state, I mean from standby mode, every time I want to unlock the phone from this state, it hangs for at least 10 seconds, after a few test, I found out that it's the fingerprints unlocking causing the problem, so I change it to pattern unlocking, which solved the problem by 80%, it still having hang issue with the unlocking, but less, not like when using fingerprint unlocking.
Next, most of the apps from before upgrade we're using fine, but after upgrade, those apps seems to take awhile to start up, some time more ten 20 seconds.
I search the forum about this 6.0.1 issue, most of them say that a factory reset should do the trick, which I yet to do it after the upgrade.
Actually after these few days of disappointment with 6.0.1, I'm planning on downgrading to 5.1.1.
Therefore, I need a bit advise here:
Should I do a factory reset first or just direct downgrade to 5.1.1?
If downgrade, the steps are:
1. Root the note 4
2. Install custom recovery
3. Install downgrade version of stock rom
Is it? Or did I miss something here?
Thanks a lot for helping out.
Quick, recap, I own a galaxy S5 Lolipop 5.1.1 SM-G900W8 build #LMY47X.G900W8VLU1COI4, previously rooted.
It all begin, when my phone been experiencing some battery draining issue. So I decide to do factory rest. But get this at that time my phone was fully rooted, w/Lolipop 5.1.1...
So I've read all the informations I could get online made sure to unroot the phone ( using CF-Auto Root ktlevl-sm G900W8.), with Odin, and reflash the phone with custom recory (G900W8VLU1COI4.tar.md5 file). I've made sure to get the exact one matching my phone carrier.
And after rooted the phone...All went well...Then 24-48 hours after the **** hit the fan.!!!!
They weere dialogue box keep poping up, from Touchwiz has closed, to Unified Daemond has closed just to name a few...
I decided to factory rest the phone again, reflash and rooted same problem occuring occuring.
So I decide not to root and the issue stop but now I'm unable to fully use my phone because it anin't root so certain function of my phone can't benefit such like using Airplane mode or Mobile data toggle using tasker. When my phone was fully rooted I was able to take full advantage of my Tasker profile. I've google the web and came acrros people who expericing the same issue as I did, but can't find a solution.
If there anyone who had that problem and manage to solve it, kindly share your story and solution with me....
Thank you in advance on getting back to me,
Hey everyone,
I decided to try and root my galaxy s5 g900v that no longer has active cell data to unlock the bootloader so that I could update it to a newer version of android (if I can get it to android 10 that would be great) and I followed the instructions to root the phone on this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/testers-required-easier-root-method-t3561529 using the CID 15 method, and when I flashed the COMBINATION_VZW_FA44_G900VVRU2APA1_VZW2APA1_25726 56_REV00_user_mid_noship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 file and rebooted my phone the wifi suddenly wouldn't authenticate anymore.
I've done it a few times and one of those times the wifi worked but I couldn't get the OS to update, the rest of the times the wifi didn't work (but I managed to update it to android 9 but I couldn't find a way to fix the wifi).
I've tried a factory reset a few times now and it still doesn't connect and I don't have a non-rooted version to restore too because the phone isn't really that important to me at this point since it's an old backup.
Does anyone have advice on how I can successfully root the phone and update it so that the wifi actually works?
Thanks in advanced
