I do work with the note 3 and was hoping that maybe I might be able to help with the T mobile Note 4.
Can someone please verify that the international variant of the note 4 has either a white contacts (dialer), phone (in call ui), mms or a dark version?
Thank you for any help.
It has a white theme.

A lot of work.. I was gonna try to invert them, but then I found that not only has samsung gone with their way of qmgs, but they also decided to screw everyone over with some type of file called astc that can't be decompiled
I found a workaround, but it's really up to you on how you use it, but...
You can set your home button to invert the colours with a triple tap. The setting is in accessibility. This is really handy when browsing the web, but not so much with "in and out" app use. I'm almost certain you can get tasker to invert apps using this method for specific apps you need inverted, and then return to normal when you exit those apps.

Not sure if it's been covered but I typically modify build.prop and change LCD density to modify DPI and gain more usable screen real estate.
Well, the US variants have a shotty root procedure and after experiencing un reliable/inconsistent performance, heat, and battery life, I flashed my Verizon G930v back to stock. After installing Nova Launcher, I changed my icon sizes for the home screen and app drawer, but the rest of the system is still ballooned and huge as if the UI was designed for the elderly.
Here's how to fix that:
Add a Nova Activity Widget
Scroll down to "Settings"
Choose "DisplayScalingActivity"
This will add an icon to your home screen.
Tap the icon and change the option to "condensed"
Restart and profit from your 640 to 560 LCD density change without root

On my exynos I changed the DPI without using Nova, its in the settings. Anyways I'm just wondering why your screenshots look so red.

Oh alright, I didn't know that.
There's already a thread on this here

Hey, Guys
I accidentally stumbled upon Blue light filter feature hidden on my A5 2016 Nougat Stock ROM.
Here is how to access it.
Install Nova Launcher (I used only this)
Add Widget , Choose Nova.. Then Choose "Activities". Scroll Down to find "Settings". Under Settings, you can find Blue Light filter. Select it.
It can now be accessed through the Nova widget.
Blue light filter didn't work for me. Guys, you try and let me know. I think all the A (6) series Nougat ROM have this hidden feature.
Screenshot Attached
I already notice this since MM, read my post
https://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/general/launch-activity-setting-t3621078
But not found a way to upload screenshoot.

If you mean "enable", No. It doesn't enable it on the notification panel.
The method would just dig it up and unhide the feature. It gives you the access to the feature which is not available in a normal setting.
Just try it and let me know if the blue light is really getting filtered out or it is just lying there like a dummy setting.
I tried to change the Opacity. I saw no colour change on the screen.
I just posted this to know how it functions for other XDA members on their A(6) series phones.
Someone at XDA would come up with an idea or workaround to make it work and probably also put it on Notification Panel.
Just waiting!

Ok thank you for your reply. I think is a problem from the kernel because on custom Rom port from gs7 or gs8 aod and blue light filter are not working so the I think they have try to hide those feature but you can still see those because it's a port of the system ui

You are most welcome, McFy.
Yes, it has to do with the kernel. But it is not a problem. Samsung has deliberately left out the feature at Kernel level. If someone comes up with a custom kernel that supports this feature, yes, it might work.
Maybe on Framework too. When I tried to switch the display mode from Basic to Adaptive, it prompted me to disable Blue Light Filter to proceed with the mode change.
So I assume it didn't work for you too.
We can surely live without this feature. Still, it would have been pleasant to our eyes during nights (better sleep) and also our blue OLED pixels could have had the chance to live little longer. LOL

One thing I can surely tell you is that you won't be able to get this feature without editing framework and custom kernel.

Yes, I thought it had something to do with Kernel as well as Framework. Thank you for the information.
As I researched through, it looks like your ROM Advanced Seven for A710XX has been ported to A510XX by that kid, @DasNuddel. It looks like you have done an awesome work. And DasNuddel also has done his work very well in bringing the ROM to A510 devices.

I tried Lux and CF Lumen in the past but I settled for Twilight for its simple interface. I have been using Twilight for years. I thought a native feature would be better. That's all. We didn't miss it on Marshmallow, definitely that's something we can live without.
I just wanted to get some insight on that hidden dummy feature.
I will give CF Lumen another try. It's been years. I expect some improvements. Thanks for your suggestion.

Twilight does not has root mode which means that the it applies a Filter which lights up the black areas of screen also, but cf lumen in root mode changes the colour of the screen so, black areas remain black. That's why I prefer it. You're welcome!

I tried CF Lumen as you suggested. Wow! Yes, I noticed the difference. Twilight just washes the screen with colours.
Previously, I tried CF Lumen on an LCD screen phone. That's why I didn't see the difference. CF Lumen is a right choice for an AMOLED device with root privilege. Now I know what I had been missing all these years. Psst!
I compared CF Lumen and Twilight, approximately same settings(I think). There was a stunning difference!! CF Lumen any night!!!
For reference, I have attached the comparison screenshots of my home screen. Forget the whites, just look at the blacks. I hope it helps others.
Thanks again, Updesh!
I have used Blue ligth filter in my roms with snapdragon (Here you only need to edit services.jar and BLF and AOD works)
But I with a friend created a mod BLF with more options than the BLF of N7 samsung and do not need to edit services.jar / framework.res or kernel.
It is a mod with more options:
Code:
Sepia
Black
Brown
Red
This made it work in grace ux 6.0.1 I just have to update the smalis to nougat and maybe manage to make it work on my rom Nougat A5 2016

Hi,
My second screen app icons periodically get really small (and kinda ugly) for no apparent reason. Then they get back to normal size also rather randomly. One way to get them back to normal is to turn off and on app icons.
I have no idea why this happens, and I don't even know how to take a screenshot of the second screen to show what it looks like.
Details: LG H990ds. Sept 2017 Android 7 running. Unrooted.

What is this potato you speak of? Haha
This is 100% a theming property. I wouldn't really say "issue" or "error" as much as I would say mistake, and that's o lt in the eye of the beholder.
This is a value setting within the theme itself.
The themer has set the theme to draw app icons on top of a series of backgrounds and they set the icon to be drawn at a percentage of the default app icon.
What I'm saying is the theme will, in this case, reduce the app icon to a smaller size then place it on top of one of the themes bg's.
Some icons have bg's as part of the actual app icon and some have only the icon (see attatched samples). Obviously icons that do not have a bg will blend into themes easier because the themes bg option will look more intended.
There are several options to fix this, but only one being easy.
1. The easy one does not get to keep the theme, you must change the theme to something that is visually acceptable to you
2. This is an option for users that have some experiance swapping images in an apk. Find the app which has an icon you don't like and use 7zip to open the apk and swap the image for one that appeals to your taste. Problem here is that thing can get overridden every time the apps gets updates. This can also trigger package errors due to signatures values and changes from original size.
3. Knowledge or modding a decompiles apk using apktool is required for this one.
Located the themes common.apk and decompile it.
Within the decompiled folders you will find a values folder, open the integer.xml and change this value to the value that fits your needs best (100 being 100% or the full original size) <integer name="config_icon_ratio_as_theme">65</integer>.
There are other ways that can do what you are wanting done, you just have to get creative with it!
You ask "how to take screenshots or second screen? You've asked this question twice now, obviously without reading the reply to the question the first time.
I persoanlly answered the question by pointing you to the link where you have options on how to add the feature you want.
This is a development community and i suggest spending a little more time reading and you'd be surprised with gow much you can find by doing a quick search.
So in summary, change you theme or learn to edit decompiled app with apktool.
Read every reply ro questions you ask so you and the people who take the time out of their days to answer you don't have to repeat themselves.
Hit the thanks button to post that givd you info that helps.

The problem is, this size keeps changing randomly. I haven't changed the theme in 2 months, but the size switches between the correct size and the tiny one every few days. The theme itself is the 'Default Black' theme that came with the phone.

I saw the comment, replied to the first part but happened to miss that part out. Thanks for that.
Attaching clearer pics to demonstrate the size difference.
Again it doesn't happen when the theme is applied. The theme has been applied from the beginning.. It's the dark one that came with the phone.. The problem comes and goes randomly.
Same here! Usually it happens when I've moved around an app icon, doesn't matter if it's moved onto the second screen or onto a homescreen.
A restart usually resets the size to normal.
u/stangdriver44 u/3mL : I have found the reason for this.
It's due to the modification of DPI I did on the main screen. It seems this setting is inherited by the second screen off and on. I just reduced my DPI further to 400 and the second screen icons got even smaller.
Others have also reported this issue. (As on this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/lgv20/comm...e_the_size_of_the_navigation_buttons/dnj6dko/)
Is there a way to de-link the DPI of the second screen with that of the first?
Im trying to reduce the size of those buttons, can youpeovide the dpi and resolution that you are at?

The one in the photo was at 420. I'm currently at 400, which makes for some really tiny icons.
EDIT: please note, that this resizing isn't constant, it gets turned on and off like a boolean such that sometimes it stays small, then returns to normal for a while.

Install activity launcher from playstore.
inside activity launcher search and launch:
cn.nubia.theme.local.ThemeActivity
this will show the preinstalled themes. choose "colorfull international" for round icons.
cn.nubia.gamecenter.settings.records.RecordSettingActivity
this will allow to switch the quality of the screenrecorder from sd to full hd.
com.qualcomm.qti.qcolor.QColorActivity
this will let you choose between all 8 color modes of the screen.
cn.nubia.factory.ChooseFpsActivity
here you can enable 120hz for the screen. It will apply once you leave the menu. standard settings and the refreshrate notification won't show the new value.
you can see that 120hz is working by dimming your screen and toggling between 144hz and 120hz and entering recents screen eachtime you changed the value. The brightness of the grey Background in the menu will be different.
To use the standard refreshrate settings again you must enable "default auto Fps" in the hidden menu.
cn.nubia.factory.FactoryTestQuickFan
here you can see the actual fan speed. Yes its + - 15k rpm.
You can create shortcuts to these menus by longpressing on the desired Activity.
Tested on global 4.05 rom.
there are allot more hidden features like battery percentage in status bar, fingerprint calibration settings and battery stats. But they don't seem to work properly.

This right here makes such a huge difference for me, I normally don't like having icons on my home screen, I generally use Linux CLI Laucher and just quickly type in whatever app I want to open, but because you can't change the launcher on this phone, I'm stuck using the default one, so I only have some icons in the dock, and one of those icons is YouTube Studio, which uses a gear icon, and all the rest of the icons that were applied by default for the other dock apps I use are all square so I just had one random icon that didn't match, and this solved that.
This is a golden find right here, really good job on this.

Worth noting that you don't need to install activity launcher or anything, really, if you have adb (which my device came with by default(!) but you can get through developer options)
Just make sure to separate package name from activity name, e.g. :
am start-activity -n cn.nubia.theme.local/.ThemeActivity
am start-activity -n com.qualcomm.qti.qcolor/.QColorActivity
etc.
(also works as "adb shell am start-activity -n cn.nubia.theme.local/.ThemeActivity"), etc

I'm sure my guide is easier
and you would'nt be able to guess any of these things inside adb. so you need the app in first place to find these things anyways. i dont understand what you try to prove. It doesnt make sense to use adb for such easy things you can do inside an app. it's like you're saying "you dont have to go into settings to turn on wifi i can do it with adb" :silly:
you're just jelly i found this stuff with some guys on telegram and there is no credit for you. you would'nt find anything in your adb if i didnt post this. get your mind right before you say this is worthless. my phone didnt come with adb i don't know whats wrong with your device... don't even bother replying it makes no sense and i will not go further in detail with you.
Wow. No good deed goes unpunished, eh?
Nobody's trying to steal anyone's credit. I'm just saying that some folks like myself who do not want to install anything (so as to keep the device pristine as possible) would maybe like to know of alternate ways to trigger activity. The am way works anywhere, not just on the Nubia activities.
Let go of the jealousy and the flames, man. Just trying to help people out. Take your credit, upvote yourself, be happy. The world has enough strife and complication already to get into pointless bickering.

The world has enough strife and complication already to get into pointless bickering.

i didnt start the fire (...Worth noting that you don't need to install activity launcher...)
as you see it's worth something, or there were no such commands for you to type inside adb.
made me a lil angry, it's fine.

I attached the screenshots. It doesn't list any theme or icons that were the original square ones. Any ideas how to go back to the original stock ones?

I don't have the phone yet, however I'm already trying to catch up.
So are all those icons change possibilities available? they look pretty good.

Yes. You can follow the instructions on this thread to gain access to the hidden themes already present on the device. Also, you can download the theme.apk app from the Chinese ROM that allows additional options https://forum.xda-developers.com/nu...d-magic-5-software-limitations-t4088015/page4
i spotted a service that will show the actual fan speed. its in the op.
