[Q] Heat issues on cm12 - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, so i flashed cm12 official on my phone 3 times by now and always when i used my screen my phone got really hot. So i went back to stock 4.4.2. im having a d802 from tmobile germany. And i think when i flashed cm11 earlier i had the same issues. I also tried setting down the cpu clock frequency to 1500mhz which also didnt help. Also battery life was worse than stock on both cm11 and 12. So do your phones also get hotter on cm12? Does anyone know if there is a solution? Id really love to use cm12 but im afraid of destroying my phone bc of overheating. Also i think the battery life is better tlon stock. Not to mention the camera, but i prefer cm12 though

[Q] LG G2 battery life with other roms and buttons

I'm considering switching to a G2 from my Galaxy S 2.
My main concerns with the G2 are the buttons on the back and LG's rom.
So my questions to you G2 owners are:
1. is the battery life still great after rooting and changing the rom? Since i rooted my GS2 the battery life became terrible and I"m afraid of that happening again.
2. How are the buttons on the back? Do you eventually get used to it?
Thanks!
I'm running cyanogenmod 10.2 on my d800 and the battery is even better than stock. Been using it for 2 hours straight with screen on the whole time and I'm still at 95%

1) I don't even use the buttons. 2) one Rom might work great for one person and not another. 3) this belongs in the q and a section.

1) On my G2 I didn't notice much of a difference in battery life after rooting, however, I am running a stock rom and I found that CarrierIQ seemed to be burning a lot of my battery. After disabling CarrierIQ, my battery life increase was noticeable. I have not tried a custom rom yet. The stock rom isn't bad once you get rid of the branding clutter and clean up the notifications area.
2) I came from an iphone and it took me about a month to get used to the back buttons. I hated them at first and didn't use them at all, just the knock on feature on the screen. I am used to them now and I actually rather like the location. There certainly isn't anything wrong with side buttons on most phones, but there isn't anything wrong with them being on the back either. I know lots of people complain about the button location. I rarely use the knock on feature now. Only if the phone is setting on the desk and I want to check something without picking it up. You will get used to it and maybe even come to like it better like myself.
when i was roted, battery become very bad, even charging too slow and hot, before rooting battery still 1 weak under hard gaming tests, but now cant still with 1 day :crying:
my device d802, im under PARDUS [rom], classic 7, its very great rom, but cant help my battery, i tried many roms.
any body can help?

Can reflashing my phone with LG flash tool "fix" battery life?

Lately my phone (vs980) has been getting less than good battery life on multiple Roms. All stock variants. I'm currently on xdabbeb vs982.5 and would like to stay on it. The only problem is the battery life.
I'm getting around 2 hours sot on average. Usually not over 2. I used to get 4 or so. I'm not using it hard either. Just some web browsing/texting/occasional YouTube.
I know its bad to "chase battery life" because you're always gonna end up disappointed but this seems a little ridiculous. So can completely wiping the phone, reflashing its stock ROM (lg flash tool I assume), then flashing my ROM of choice (xdabbeb vs982.5) potentially fix this?
Is there some sort of persistent data that could cause something like this? I highly doubt the battery is bad because the phone isn't very old. Sometimes it seems to get hot in my pocket. Not really hot but warm when it should be in deep sleep. It seems a bit sporadic too. As I'm typing this, the battery is acting fine. Its dropped 2 percent in the time it took to type and edit this. But other times (usually) it seems to just be like NOPE. NOT TODAY.
I use TWRP recovery. Xdabbeb's 26a bootstack. My current ROM / recovery is bumped if that can have anything to do with it. I don't think it would but I'm new to bumped. Used to Loki.
Also my screen brightness stays around 75% auto but that's never been a problem before.
All this would usually lead me to just flash another ROM.. But Ive tried that and it didn't really help. My previous setup was xdabbeb vs980 ROM with dr87 simplekernel undervolted 50mv. Sadly my current kernel doesn't support uv.
Any insight is greatly appreciated

[Q] Is samsung s4 9500 worth a buy admist heating & battery issues?

Hi,
I'm thinking of purchasing Samsung galaxy S4 I9500 (black edition). I've seen some users struggling with it's battery and heating issues.
are all devices affected with this issue?
Can a custom ROM solve the heating and batter problem? if yes, which one is the best?
Please advice.
Im using i9500 with no problems
I cant say for stock firmware but on custom rom heating and low battery life problems are nonexistent. Heating occurs a little while playing cpu and internet intensive games, but nothing you would not expect. Battery holds easily through the day or even two of you will not play or browse much. About roms- currently I would recommend ozcan rom if you want to stay on 4.4 or barebones 5.0.1 android. Both are great for speed battery and features.
I'll choose i9505 instead, Qualcomm rather than Exynos, much better thermal and battery & 4G also
sadly when I bought the phone only i9500 was available and I didn't discover that till when I finished every thing and entered my car

[Q] G2 (d802) overheating, custom ROMs

Hello everybody,
I got my G2 some months back, and in almost a week i installed a custom ROM, cm exactly. I can't remember exactly, but i am fairly possitive that it was overheating since i bought it.
By overheating i mean 65-70something C for running every game, even when watching videos on youtube.
I have changed a good amount of rom, have bricked it once or twice, but now i am running the 05/05 nightly of BlissRom. It is running very smoothly, with no performance issues, but it is overheating like crazy on what i told you about. I don't know if it is standard for that phone. And when i am charging it is around 60 C. I use cputemp to tell the temp.
If i have to return it, will they check if it is rooted and not repair it? If i return to stock via LG Flash tool will they still be able to tell?
Thanks and sorry for the messed up post.

N910c overheat

Hello everyone,
I'm dealing with overheat issues on my note 4 exynos model. I bought it November of 2014. Everything was fine ultil lollipop came out. I was completely stock and after lollipop I had a huge drop on my performance. So I rooted my phone tried different roms and kernels. I didn't find a solution so I went back to stock kit kat where everything was fine. After 2 months I got the update to lollipop again performance was normal but since then I'm facing overheating even with minimum usage. My cpu temp i's from 38- 70 without even gaming. Could be a defective phone or am I doing something wrong? Anyone else facing these issues?
For your information I did wipe catche dlavik catche. Restore to factory settings and I'm not using an sd card.
Should I go to a Samsung service center? I don't have warranty now, but I've heard people saying that they don't always check it if phone seems completely stock.
Thank you in advance.
