Nexus 7 2012 Wifi.
My Nexus was getting slow, so I successfully converted my system, data, and cache to F2FS with SlimKat.
In the process of this, I converted my Cache, System, and Data to F2FS.
The SlimKat F2FS rom was working fine. All was well.
Here's where I made a series of errors...
I decided to restore the Nexus back to factory settings/stock 4.4.4. I had some problems with my nandroid files, so I decided just to convert things back manually in TWRP. My thought process was to: A. convert Data and Cache back to ext4, B. Install factory rom from System, C. convert System back to ext4.
My thought process was apparently wrong.
Here's what I did:
1. I copied the 4.4.4 Factory Image (.tgz) to the sdcard (first mistake. I assumed the official download was a .zip but it was a .tgz).
2. In TWRP, i converted the Cache and System to ext4.
3. Tried to install stock 4.4.4 rom but couldn't install it because it was .tgz.
4. Not knowing what else to do, I converted the Data to ext4 as well. So in my eyes, everything was "put back" to ext4 like it was before. Since everything was "back to normal", I thought Nexus Root Toolkit could take me the rest of the way back to normal.
5. In Nexus Root Toolkit, I tried to "Flash Stock + Unroot", but it gave me errors (picture is attached)
6. Now I'm in bootloader. Trapped. I can't even get back into TWRP anymore (and I don't understand why).
Sorry for the noob trouble. Hopefully there is still hope for my Nexus.

In fastboot mode (i.e. Bootloader), use fastboot to flash the latest TWRP or a factory image

Instead of doing these whole procedure via .bat file plss try it manually yourself and install latest twrp and then format your system and other partitions with desired format and then flash manually system.img and other stuff manaually

Hey guys, thanks for the help.
Here's what got me through it:
1. Learn how to fastboot, adb, etc. WITHOUT Nexus Root Toolkit so you understand what's going on.
2. Don't assume that any USB port or laptop will give you the same results. My attempts to flash the system with a custom rom failed time and time again. On the advice of other threads, I tried the same thing again via a different USB port, and voila it worked! Perhaps it was not a 2.0 port.
In summary, I needed to fastboot erase, then fastboot flash the partitions. And most of all, I had to try it on a different USB port if it failed unexpectedly.
Hope this helps somebody else!

I formatted /sdcard on recovery mode by mistake, was going to format /data, /system and /cache
now I lost all of my backup and ROM files and my N7 stuck at Google icon when reboot.
recovery and bootloader can still access....if that help.
Any way i can get my baby to boot up like it used to be? or How to put files back to N7? (maybe I can install the ROM if it's there?)

First make sure you have the Nexus 7 plugged into a PC while attempting to start bootloader and choosing recovery. You might be able to do a factory reset from there. Wipe data, cache and dalvik. You may want to hit 'Fix Permissions' last just in case, then reboot. If you're familiar with ADB and fastboot you can find info on flashing stock images here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796. If neither of those helps you'll need to go to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475, download and install the toolkit and choose 'Flash Stock + Unroot' with the option 'Soft-Bricked, Bootloop' (assuming that is still the case) checked. It will ask which image to download, pick the latest (4.1.2). You shouldn't have to relock the bootloader. From there it's just like stock so play with it as you like, just watch what you're wiping, lol.

I did the following steps and now I am stuck. my phone wouldn't load and I cant do anything about it
1. Bootloader was unlocked and I installed the clockworkmod recovery.
2. backed up my phone
3. I copied the ROM zip file to storage of the phone. (I cant find it through recovery now)
4. rebooted into recovery mode
5. did the nAndroid backup (which is not working now and hence my phone is spoiled)
6. performed complete wipe of the device including factory reset, cache partition and dalvik cache.
the problem is that I cant restore the nAndroid backup which i created using the recovery any more. I also tried mounting the USB storage using recovery but it still doesn't work.
I am also not able to see the phone as a Storage device in my computer any more otherwise I could load the ROM file again and try.
Please suggest any ideas or solutions.

Okay, first what rom are you flashing. And did you do a factory reset in the recovery before you flash it?
By flashing in custom recovery means you are flashing an unofficial version of KitKat, because normal you use fastboot method to flash the factory image from Google. Try using this stock rom from fireb33: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010887
Secondly, did you flash the latest version of CWM recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198942
If you used latest recoveries and factory reset, and it still doesn't boot, then backup your nandroid and use the fastboot method to flash the factory stock image (link in my sig).
To backup your nandroid, you need to locate where it is and use "adb pull" command, try this: adb pull /data/media/clockworkmod/ C:\backup\
The MD5 mismatch means your file is not original or corrupt, it could be due to various reasons.
Nexus devices do not have microSD card so they cannot use the mount USB storage feature.
I am willing to bet most of your issues could be avoided by using TWRP recovery instead of CWM. Get it here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/mako, flash it in fastboot by "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img", it is not compatible with CWM nandroid.
If you neeed to send certain files to your phone, don't forget the sideload feature if you want to flash a zip file from your computer. Enable sideload in your recovery, and type: adb sideload *.zip

the only optionyou have is to flash a factory image through fastboot..head over here --> Click Me
i downloaded the factory image from google extracted then did the same fastboot flash as the 4.3 but switched the names to the files in the krt16o zip. it worked perfectly for me. tried using wugs toolkit and everything went to crap. i say do the same method as 4.3 but rename all the files accordingly.

I was using Slimkat 4.2 with TWRP recovery. Wanted to update to the latest stable build. Did so. Now I'm stuck in a bootloop.
1) I restarted in bootloader, went to advanced wipe and wiped system, dalivik cache and cache.
2) Then I flashed the file (Slim-grouper-4.4.4.build.7.0-OFFICIAL). Sha1 check out. My device is a nexus 7 2012 (non 3g).
3) on top of that, I flashed the latest gapps normal.
Bootlooped.
1) I'm able to enter into bootloader.
2) I do not have a backup of my previous instal
3) I am unable to mount usb through the twrp mount interface.
Could somebody help me here? I seem to be making a lot of mistakes with this after successfully flashing my phones for years (just recently I got a "enter password to decrypt device" on the same nexus 7 that I got through by formating through twrp.
Should I try wiping and flashing the rom again, without the gapps? (By wiping system, dalivik cach and cache)?
Are there other methods I could use?
Help would be greatly appreciated!
Please note that I can easily get into fastboot mode. When I'm at fastbook, should I just try to return to stock? I'm not exactly sure how that would work given that I have a custom recovery and rom installed.
Should I try to use sideload adb to instal the rom/original rom for the device again?
Hello. I tried doing the 5.0 update to my tablet using the factory images. It failed on sending /system and now the whole tablet isn't working. I loaded Philz, to wipe the whole tablet, and it errors mounting /data and /system when attempting to wipe. I have tried wiping everything in every way, and nothing. I cannot get anything to flash on the tablet. Any help?

Maybe try with latrst version of twrp instead of Philz.

I flashed TWRP, went through the process, rebooted to bootloader, reflashed TWRP, reboot to recovery & mtp was enabled to access the sdcard
History of what I did:
I first installed the first small OTA Update to 4.5.1 then unlocked the Bootloader and flashed TWRP v46 from xdvs23. And made a full TWRP Backup and flashed Magisk afterwards.
Everything worked fine until I debloated the System and wanted to make the OTA Update to 4.5.2 (1,5 GB), which didn't work. After I flashed it, the phone didnt boot anymore. So I restored the TWRP Backup, which doesn't work either.
Current status:
TWRP v58 is flashed and works. I can flash ExcperienceOS from Jamal, which works fine, too. But flashing the OTA file doesn't work and restoring my backup wont work either -_-
I would really appreciate help to get back to an OTA updatable version of OxygenOS!
If you still have the TWRP installed I would download the full 4.5.2 zip (Listed elsewhere on these forums) and use adb sideload to install it, then proceed again from there.

I did that several times. It doesn't work sadly... I get into a bootloop
You didn't erase your userdata partition by mistake did you? You could try going into fastboot mode and use the command:
fastboot format userdata
Obviously this will wipe the userdata partition but the phone is acting like there's no userdata partition anyway

How about trying to wipe everything from wipe menu except internal storage and then flash the oos zip followed by lazy flasher zip from here - bit.ly/lazyflasher
If this doesn't work then try changing to a different version of TWRP!

You didn't do these steps wrong by any chance?
Steps To Disable Forced Encryption i.e, Decrypt Data
1. At first time when you open twrp, it will ask you to allow system modification.
2. Allow it and then flash the no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip file .
3. Then Go to Wipe-->Format Data.
4. Type Yes to confirm wiping of Internal Storage.
5. Now you have decrypted the data sucessfully.
Note: Dont try to restore the nanodroid backup which you have taken before. It may end in bootloop.

I failed hard. Luckily the OnePlus Support is excellent and was able to fix my issue with a remote session using their official tools. The Phone and I are both happy again.
