Yesterday, I left my phone in my bag with my mobile data on, and when I took it out it was EXTREMELY hot, so I took it out, cooled it down and charged it, however, while charging it, it was overheating alot, and the battery took 8 hours to charge to 70%. Now I can't even turn my phone on because it immediately heats up, and turning on wifi makes it worse, it overheats like crazy and my wifi screen is stuck at "turning on wifi". I tried a factory reset but there was no use, I flashed another rom onto it and still same issue. Please help, rooted LG d802 with CM12 currently, was using darkobas rom when it happened.
Have you tried flashing stock rom?

Ok, so I think there is something wrong with my phone. I flashed a kernel over a rom a few days ago, and out of nowhere, the phone started heating up ridiculously fast.
I wiped everything, and installed the ROM normally, and the heating issue remained.
So today, I installed CM on my phone, thinking that the original ROM was the cause of all of it.
As it turns out, it's not.
When the phone is asleep, the battery is at 98.6 F. When I send a text message, it jumps to 100.4 F.
In spare parts, it says that the battery condition is GOOD, so idk what the problem could be here. Should I wipe battery stats or something?
And before any of you say anything about multitasking-- Wifi is on, GPS Off, Data On. I am running text messaging, and a few other things [dialer, etc]. Nothing extravagant. I have run youtube, music, and 3 other battery intensive apps before and nothing has ever heated up before. Idk wtf is going on right now.
Hi
I have recently started having a problem with what I presume to be the battery of my Nexus 4. It seems to have started suddenly about a week ago, though was working absolutely fine before. I don't think it was due to any specific app having been installed. I have also done a factory reset on it, but that didn't solve the problem.
Basically, the battery will discharge to about 75%. The phone will then suddenly switch off; turning the phone back on, it simply shows the battery to be fully depleted and switches off. If I plug it into a power source, the phone turns back on and begins charging, from 0%, though seems to suddenly fully charge it within about half an hour.
My phone has not been rooted.
I would really appreciate any help/advice on this issue as it is incredibly frustrating having to have my phone almost permanently on charge.
I have attached two screenshots of the battery usage graph.
Thanks!

If you are on stock, try flashing the stock image(4.2 or 4.3 up to you) there's plenty of threads on here thatll guide you thro the process.
I've had the same issue about three times, during the first week of using my Nexus 4 (about half a year ago). I've already had my mind made up to RMA it, but waited for it's shut-off to happen once more to collect some evidence of this problem and... it never happened again. I'm pretty confident that I didn't install anything that might have helped (I only installed BetterBatteryStats to check the instant drain, but really doubt it could change anything, it's just statistics), and I've never factory wiped the phone's data yet.
I've been searching for answers around the internet back in May, but never found anything of value, so my only advice is... wait a little, and if it doesn't get better itself return it to the merchant. My previous HTC phone was restarting almost everyday from the first day I bought it, until a month later I returned it for warranty repairs and after they changed almost all internals of the phone it never crashed again (till today, since I still use it as GPS and media player when running).
Hi. I was using my phone and I put it down because I wanted to play Skyrim on my computer. After about 30 minutes, I checked on my phone and noticed that it wouldn't turn on. THe battery was at around half when I put it down but I don't think it's a dead battery because the phone won't even charge. I tried taking the battery out but to no avail as well.
I recently installed Temasek's CM12 nightly on it but everything was running smoothly (less buggy than the official CM12) so I'm not exactly sure what's going on. Any help would be appreciated.
Oh, and I have the Sprint variant.
Edit: I just tried turning on the phone again and it worked... Im not sure what happened.
So my G2 used to last me a whole day easily, my battery life was incredible, then one day, I went to sleep, with my phone at 64%, and it wasn't charging, so then I slept 7 hours, and when I woke up, it's dead, 100% dead, it wouldn't turn on, well it would but just to turn itself back off again. Anyways, I'm rooted, I have Dorimanx kernel, killed off and deleted all unnecessary apps and tasks, ect. this battery drain has no source, at least I don't think so. My battery doesn't last half as long as it used to, and I noticed my phone is always staying slightly warm now, so you may think, it's running something, that's what's killing the battery, no, nothing is running, i checked with rom toolbox manager, and nothing that shouldn't be running is running. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I just replace the battery myself? My phone would have times (before this battery drain) that it would stay warm, but even then, my battery life was amazing. ANY help at all is very appreciated.
Edit: I fixed it? I decided to reset the phone, to see of it was a tweak messing with the battery, it still dies fast, so then I went back to stock via kdz method, so this way I had no custom kernel or anything. Still the battery drained. Then I just rooted and flashed the backup I made in TWRP right before I went back to stock, that brought my kernel and tweaks all back, and then, idk why, my battery life is fine again? After 3-4 days of dieing very quickly. Idk what happened, but if you have a battery drain, try flashing the stock ROM again and then testing the phone out like that. It worked for me. Also, I had signal problems before I went back to stock, and now I have LTE everywhere I go. I'm keeping this up in case someone has a similar problem.
Hi everone. I have the Samsung Galaxy S5 (Octa core version). Recently, i noticed that the battery had a strange behavior, so i planned to replaced when i finish my exams. During that time, the phone started to shut down randomly, so i bought a new battery thinking that would resolve all the problems, but it won't. The phone keeps shutting down alone, it happends when the battery percentage is below 60% and for turn on again i have to connect the phone charger or remove the battery and put it in again. Some times, the baterry percentage changes -/+ 15%, even from 40% to 3%. Oddly, sometimes the phone just get a black screen when i using it or the screen suffers some kind of distortion and shuts down.
Already did a factory reset and did some test on safe mode, but no luck. Curiously, when the phone is charging, there are no problems of any type.
Any clue of what could be?
