hi-
i recently got a notification for the Kit Kat upgrade on my Nexus 7. i tried to apply the upgrade but it failed (see attached image). when it rebooted afterwards, i could see the new Kit Kat splash/loading screen (the green + blue + yellow + red droplets coming together), but it never progress beyond that point (that screen will run until the battery drains).
i'm not quite sure how to recover from this, and the worst part is that i have pictures stored locally on the device that i'd _really_ like to keep (a running diary of a daily picture i'd taken for over 150 consecutive days).
two questions:
1) is there any way to recover my pictures?, and...
2) how can i restore my device (or preferably, upgrade to Kit Kat).
fwiw - Clockworkdmod is installed.

While it's booting, you need to hold down power+vol up+vol down to boot the device into fastboot mode. Hold it until you see Andy lying on his back.
Then you need to select recovery and in there, wipe cache partition and reboot.
That should fix it.

hi iBolski-
i tried your suggestion but the boot sequence still doesn't advance past the four swirling dots. any other ideas?
(what's really important to me is getting my pictures off the device. beyond that, i'm happy to wipe the entire thing clean...)
can anybody else out there offer any suggestions on how to recover my data?
If you se the boot sequence you allready failed at launching the fastboot mode.

As you can see in this video. As soon as you can enter the mode go along whith what iBolski said.

that's precisely what i did, and while in the recovery i wiped the cache partition (and the dalvik cache). when i reboot afterwards, it still won't advance past the point i described.
I once had a similar problem and I had to reflash the stock rom via fastboot. But with this method your photos will be deleted and I donĀ“t know any other.
Hi, I am stuck in the logo, I have used the wipe data/factory rest in fastboot but its still stuck. Any help would be appreciated thank you.
I think you're confusing fastboot with recovery. If you did a factory reset then you need to install a ROM because a factory reset wipes your device.

This is incorrect, a factory reset simply erases the user data part, system stays same.
It basically restores to 'factory' release state.
For the OP, did you leave it on for a little while? sometimes it can take a little bit of time to start after a factory reset.
If still nothing, try https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworksdownload
use the 16gb 2.1 shield tv software, its really simple.
Thanks guys, every command I use comes up failed with various errors.
I have mistakenly run Google Remote Erase https://android.com/find on my phone. The phone has done a complete factory reset. Now it boots to initial blue setup screen "Hi there...English...Start", but the touchscreen is not responsive. There is a lock icon in the left upper corner. So I assume it is FRP (Factory Reset Protection) by Google.
I repeated Hard Reset and even managed to boot to Safe mode (still the same initial blue setup screen) as per https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-217744/
but still the touchscreen is not responsive.
The phone is from Amazon.com, I am in Canada. The bootloader was unlocked and then re-locked. So BL is now locked.
The short story long: -) I have had two identical G6Plus handsets. One was stolen 3 days ago. After that I changed my Google password and mistakenly run Google Remote Erase on the one which was NOT stolen
Will FW flashing remove FRP? To flash FW, I will need to unlock BL. Is it possible while FRP?
FRP remains activated even if you flash a new FW. It's possible to flash a FW while bootloader is locked. But it must be exactly the same build which is currently installed on the phone. Have a look on this page: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/evert/official/
You'll find different folders for each software channel. To find your software channel you can boot into bootloader (power on while press+hold vol-) Watch out for XT1926-3 for example. The last digit (e.g. -3) defines the software channel.

I have removed FRP by connecting external Keyboard/mouth, then unlocked BL and flashed new FW. It works normal with external Keyboard/mouth now, but the touch screen is still not responsive. So it probably is just a hardware problem having nothing to do with FPR
Hi,
My son has enabled lock pattern on a SM-T590 device and don't remember it. Is there a way to remove it?
I try software like wondershare; 4ukey... without sucess
thanks
Factory reset.
I try the factory reset from recovery menu but the factory reset option doesn't appear. Only wipe cache.
I remember that in the past on older devices, the option was "wipe cache / factory reset"
Also try to put TWRP with ODIN but OEM LOCK is on :-(
The pattern lock is quite limited. I would swipe along untill i ran into the right one
quite limited? there is a lot of schema possible. Try hundred of them without success :-(
So the conclusion is if I can find the good schema by luck, to put the tablet in trash?
Hello everyone!
Need help while my wife is not in the topic yet (
There is a Michael Kors Sofie MKT5021 watch, made a reset, reconnected to the phone.
They started to blunt, cleaned the cache of programs (by deleting data and cache), disabled Google Fit.
I did a reboot and they now load only up to the desktop screen and start blinking, there are no any widgets, I can't go into the menu for reset settings,
I can only boot into safe mode, but it's the same, there is no menu, nothing.
How else can they be reset to factory ones with only one main button?
Thanks/

Solved.
Boot to recovery by tap 5 & 11 while booting.
