Hello, has anyone tryied to use an HD2 with app inventor?? If so, what is the procedure? When i am trying to connect my phone with the blocks editor, the java enviroment cannot see any device. HTC sync is setup and recognised as Dream. Also ADB drivers are setup, but when i am going from app inventor to block editor, a message appears and says "Please locate the adb command on your computer and enter the full path here". I am typing the path of the app inventor on my computer "C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\appinventor-extras" and then the java enviroment continues. I am running 7 64bit.

Can you please share some details? for example what programs/drivers/sdk needs the app inventor? installing procedure if its not a trouble for you, what rom are you using and in which mode you put your phone when you connect it with the usb cable, so the blocks editor can recognise the hd2?
thanks in advance.

chuckydroid rom with Hyperdroid and Bangsters Build work. I have to use I.E. because firefox will not work for me. I simply turn the phone on, no special modes or anything and hit connect while the screen is on.. I installed that software they ask you to install before you start, nothing more.
I am having the same problems as described above really but using firefox and linux (ubuntu). No joy getting the app inventor to work witha desire based rom. I am going to try using Chrome to see if that makes any difference and its just a firefox based issue.

The only problem you're suffering right now is that the path has to look like this
C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\appinventor-extras\adb.exe
You have to write the full path including this file
Have fun. It's a great programm and makes a lot of fun
Edit: There's a how to on the page to set up this path again.
i had to update my version of java to java 6.23,also appinventor works better with chrome browser, surprise, surprise google software talking to google phone through google browser to googles servers...
I'm trying the App Inventor, and I can run things I'm tinkering with. I did one of the tutorials, but when I run it on my HD2, with AmericanAndroid, it is too small.
The app has black blank space on both side, and the bottom. It is probably a little more than half the screen.
I think it is the Android device driver. (But, I'm not sure.)
So, I followed some instructions to download drivers for my device, but the HD2 (on HTC's web page) doesn't have Android drivers. So, I probably need to download them for another HTC device (or something?). Any suggestions?
Or, am I going in the wrong direction, and need to do something else entirely.
I have been having trouble using easy tether to connect to the Internet on my computer after upgrading to Ubuntu 11.04. It was working fine on 10.10 but after updating, I can't seem to get it to work.
I have installed the drivers and have it running on my phone and I type the commands:
cd /usr/bin
easytether connect
It displays that I am connected on the terminal, but network manager just says that I am searching for a connection. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or have another way to USB tether to Ubuntu 11.04?
What phone are you using ? There is a known bug in ubuntu heres how to fix it https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AndroidScreenshots. I know its for screenshots but it works the code is for htc if you are not using a htc device the vender codes for other devices can be found in the superoneclick.thread.

Hey thanks for the link. I will try editing my android.rules file to the new one that is there
Nope that didn't work. Thanks for the input though. Does anyone else have this problem? I have seen a bunch of people on the ubuntu forums but there doesnt seem to be anyone who got it to work
I bumping this again because I really need this to work. Any ideas????? Please???
My Ubuntu box was not able to find my phone...but after I went In and manually added it it connects just fine.

Are you on 11.04? And how did you manually add it?
I can get adb to work. Also, if I type:
cd /usr/bin
easytether enumerate
It shows the device id but if I type:
easytether connect #############
It shows it connects in the terminal just like it does without the number, it says it is connected in the terminal, but network manager does not connect.
This is incredibly important to me so could you please post how you did that when you get a chance?
I just talked to easytether support. It seems to be a bug in their program. They are going to be fixing it soon.
I apologize for reviving but was a fix released?
Hi,
I got a strange probolem when trying to access files on a samba share. The share is on a Pogoplug running ArchLinux and I can access it from Xubuntu fine. Howerver, on the N7 using ES File Explorer, i can browse the directories fine. I can even create new files. But as soon as I try to access a file, I get an error saying "parameter incorrect" or "Cache remote file failed". The problem occurss on publish shares as well as user shared. I tried other Samba clients than ES File Explorer, but the result is always the same. Anybody an idea how to solve this?
Also works flawlessly on my iPhone, just tried. Anybody know any special samba options required or incompatible with android?

Just realize this question may be better in the networking forum. Cab an operator move out there please?

Just tried to browse a Windows share from my N7, and that works fine, so there must be something specific to the Linux samba setup that the N7 doesn't like.
Found the solution, this appears to be a Samba bug: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9706
Setting unix extensions = no in the smb.conf fixes it for now.
Hi guys I followed the instructions to root the Verizon G2 on my Mac. I installed adb and have an android folder but when I access terminal and type ./adb devices it detects the phone but says device offline. I'm wondering how to fix this? I feel like I've done every step right up to this point if I can get it to recognize adb commands I'm just stuck. Thanks for the help.

Currently I'm playing around with the AT command trying to have the Galaxy S4 I9505(Non Rooted) to dial my iPhone 6 by using the following a guide by Roberto Paleari - Exposed Modem Interface using (USBSwitcher).
However I do not have much luck making it work as the only command that works is ATZ, which returns OK and all other commands like ATD/ATI does not work. So I was wondering If you guys have any chance getting this to work?
How I test
1. Use USBSwitcher to switch to configuration 2 which is the CDC ACM.
2. Issue the command $socat - /dev/ttyACM0,crnl
3. Issue the command 'ATZ'
4. Returns 'OK'
