Android Lollipop 5.0.1 is officially available from LGE website, as of 1/3/2014 KT has not pushed this update via OTA (I have F460K on KT and the last update was in Nov 2014 android 4.4.2)
LG Mobile device driver download page, you can change the model in the search box but I believe the software downloads for S/K/L are the same
First install LG USB driver
The driver requires Media Format Feature Pack KB968211 for Windows 7 N with Service Pack 1 and Windows 7 KN with Service Pack 1 and does not work out of box on Windows Server 2008 R2. There might be ways to trick Windows Server 2008 R2 to install the feature pack for Windows 7.
Then run the phone update tool
I changed the region to US/English and the phone seems to be working fine after the upgrade. The current version I have is F460K20c built on Dec 26, 2014
Rooting
Stump 1.2.0 does not work on 20c 5.0.1 rom (unrecognized device), I am not sure how I can get a custom recovery installed
I guess you updated without being root?

Is there anyway to root the phone after upgrade to 5.0 by KDZ?

no root yet for F460 android 5.0.1
Cool! Upgraded, application launch and switching seems faster, Chrome is faster too
Not cool. There isn't any Lollipop custom ROM available. And maybe there won't be any Custom ROM in the future (like the very small amount of KK Custom ROMs).
Finally some gathering, subbed.
Now to get the bumped twrp and unpack system, radio and boot img so we can have rooted lollipop too..
460s owner here, still on 4.4.2, rooted with several xposed modules such as g3 twb, really hope to get cm12 on this phone.. would donate for it.

Custom Recovery?
Has anyone been able to find/install a custom recovery? Have an F460k, I had one custom recovery installed (can't remember the name), but it couldn't make nandroid backups, could only flash zips. Didn't want to risk flashing anything without having a backup first.
Also, any good custom roms? I know the Sphinx rom is available but I've already frozen/uninstalled all my bloatware so not sure if that's necessary.

Best is STOCK always. Samsung fixed somethings in this latest firmware. HERE we go :highfive:. You don't need install anything before, only flash this firmware via ODIN like always.

Great !
European keyboard works ?
EAP-SIM, bluetooth works ?
i have also an European L04 !
No bugs so far, battery life decent, bt working, dunno about other european sim cards than finland, but they should work. I dirty flashed B550 via fastboot, build number shows B507 after flash but dont let it fool you. Google keyboard was working after OTA flash, dont expect keyboard with dirty flash B550. Hope it helps
Sounds good, will do it as an OTA update.

I believe you're ****ed m8 :/ you could try to boot your device into recovery and seek if you can get product id via adb since it works on recovery.
Or try to do wipe and boot if it works, on what build you tried installing that OTA on?
After some tweaks i made to io and entropy like i always do, i managed to get nice score in antutu! Also i found one small bug in beta: you cant set lockscreen wallpaper other than the one in homescreen. But overall awesome OS

You can set different wallpaper, it just asks you after you crop and set the "illusion" effect to which you want to set it to, this method is via gallery not themes app

Ok, i bought this phone recently and i just realized that is a new smartphone from Samsung..i searched everywhere but seems that there is no TWRP or ROOT for this model SM-J701MZDNZTO... will there ever be one? There is a bunch of good apps that doesnt work without root that i miss from my previous smartphone.....
Thanks
I tried to install the J701F TWRP for a while it work but was unstable...ended up having to reflesh to original stock rom... it sucks having a android phone that doesnt have root ...
Same problem u.u
Any prediction to access the root of the galaxy j7 neo?
Im waiting for it too!
Did you find any solution? To root j701m
anyone found anything?
Something to try?
Don't know guys, for sure this device doesn't have a custom ROM ...Yet! I hope but if you have an unlocked bootloader(and if you don't, as I did, there's still hope) it can still be rooted, I used this method here to root:
https://unofficialtwrp.com/root-twrp-galaxy-j7-neo-sm-j701m/
I used it on my device (SM-J701M) and it worked, the TWRP version is unofficial (It's supposed to be compatible with J7 core, J7 neo & J7 nxt models) and a bit buggy but it's better than nothing, and you'll get root, so if it helps kudos to you all.
A word of caution: make a backup, it's pretty easy with SmartSwitch
For those who may have a locked bootloader after the Oreo update as I did, you can reinstall/flash your firmware from SamMobile (https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-j7-neo/firmware/#SM-J701M), using Odin, in most cases, the security patch is not upgraded yet and the firmware version still has the option to unlock bootloader in Developer Options.
You will have to create an account, and you must be specific with your device's carrier, take a note of your baseband version as that will give you an idea of the firmware you will download. I've also successfully upgraded to Pie. Hope this helps, Good Luck.

Hi. I just got an LG Stylo 3 on Virgin Mobile. Although I like this phone Id like to root it to have better functionality. Like to delete bloatware, and have ad-blockers.
Has anyong found root for the LG Stylo 3- LS777??
I see theres root for the LG Stylo 3 Plus. Can that method also be used for the Lg Stylo 3???
If anyone has root or finds root please contact me at . Ill donate to you.
Getting the bootloader unlocked will be the biggest trick on this device. As usual, LG is following a longtime tradition of blocking fastboot mode on its budget devices. Without a working exploit to zero out the /laf partition and force fastboot mode, root on the LS777 is going to be extremely difficult. Root and custom Android development are already ongoing on the LG Stylo 3 Plus because the bootloader is readily unlockable on that variant.
This is the latest firmware for the LG Stylo 3 (LS777) with July 1, 2018 security patches. This package consists of partition images and is not in TOT or kdz format. The engineering version of LG-UP can be used to flash the individual partitions (using Partition DL mode). Or, the images can be used with a kdz firmware package compiler to create a kdz package.
These partition images are untouched stock.
Android Version 7.0
Software Version LS777ZVE

Zve that don't sound right is to be zv8 or zv9
I'm wondering, I was reading another thread in this forum and read something about possibly achieving root even with a locked bootloader. It said that something would have to be patched and a insecure aboot flashed. I would attempt this, my issue is the LGUP tool. It keeps telling me unknown model. And I have tried about everything I can think of. I even used uppercut along with it to try to get the program to recognize my device. Any ideas?

Hi
I don't know what is your phone build number exactly but I suggest lineage 16 or 17.1 and you can find them from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/grand-prime/development
but first of all , since you have Android 4.4.4 on your phone you should update it to 5.0.2 (The latest official stock rom for Grand Prime) .
