Hello,
I'm having some trouble getting a custom ROM to function properly. I've tried two different Google based ROMs and I no signal whatsoever. I have a friend who has the same phone, same provider and country and can get these ROMs working fine. He suggested that it is due to my older modem version and should consider updating it. I was told I could simply revert back to the stock Samsung ROM and do a Software Update and it should grab the new modem firmware but when I tried to do this, it told me my phone had been modified and I could not receive updates. How can I update the modem version to the newest without having to restart from an unrooted factory default phone?
Any suggestions and help are appreciated
Thanks

Okay, well here's some progress. I found a .tar.md5 file of the latest 4.3 Jelly Bean for the SGH-I337M.
After downloading the md5 file, I opened it with an archiver and I see the 'modem.bin'.
Can I install this modem binary file via the 'phone' option in ODIN to update my modem version to MK6?
Thanks

1 Download the firmware from sammobile.cpm
2 Pc ODin you must have used it fpr rooting.
Flash the firmware with pc odin to your phone via usb cable.
Same procesure you have used to root your phone.
Sent from Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005
thank you very much, will try and keep you posted!!
I visited sammobile and checked their firmware section. Seems for my build (N9005XXUMBI6) there is NO firmware update to 4.4.2, only for 4.3. My phone was bought in Switzerland without carrier lock. Can I just use one of the firmware where it says 'country unknown' or do I risk to brick my device? Thank you once again

What is your CSC?
Use this app Phone INFO ★Samsung★ to see what is your CSC.
Also in this app. you can enter the Menu --> select 'Firmware Browser...' to see a list of available stock firmwares for your phone, including the latest one.

Nope, it is CSC version, not the actual CSC code.
I mean the 'Active CSC code' in the CSC INFO section.
Anyway you can enter the menu and select 'Firmware Browser' to check for the latest firmware by yourself.

EDIT: Ok, AUT is Switzerland and the latest firmware is N9005XXUENB4 on March 2014, Android 4.4.2
The download link for this firmware is also given in this app.

What is your KNOX state, If its still 0x0, the you would need the mobile odin pro 4.0 method to update to keep knox 0x0.
Thank you all. Finally managed to upgrade to 4.4.2 with firmware from sammobile.com but now realized that I don't have root anymore. Will use CF autoroot for 4.4.2.

Yah.. were the same.. there are two new update on grand prime XTC Philippines (open line) but cant flash in odin. And also can not update the device in OTA. Please help.
This device have secure bootloader, so might be the reason u cant flash updated firmware, only OTA update. IMO need to unlock bootloader first if wanna success flash through odin.
Until now, the way to unlock this device bootloader is unavailable.

To upgrade the device is not necesarry to download the firmware of the respective region, u can flash any version of firmware for another regions, the only need to know is the respective version of firmware is for your device only that, i have flashed many firmware in my prime without issues ever from other regions ( most actual than my original region ) and y device is working ike a charm
Have you rooted the phone?
Can u elaborate what means.of.respective version please? u said that u flash many firmware for ur prime, which.one firmware have u been flashed successfully @tutibreaker
Hello guys I have solve this issue by flashing different firmware I used Nepal firmware. XTC firmware is corrupted.

no i dont flash many versions in my device, just flash the latest update from other region and works fine, the region is not important
Hey, same problem here. I can't flash any firmware. Odin just errors: Failed [Auth].
And since I've rooted my Grand Prime, I'm not able to update it via OTA
What am I supposed to do?!
Recently I've faced some lags on my phone that I don't know why, but I think I need to update my firmware.

What firmware did you flash? If its XTC then you should try other region firmware like Malaysia or Indonesia. XTC firmware is corrupted.

You have to flash exact soft for your region and phone. Grand Prime have many versions so you must select right one. In East Europe there is no secure bootloader or maybe I haven't encountered it yet. If you have secured bootloader so probably it's gonna be same like Sony or HTC. You'll have to unlock it. I can't say where

Just open your odin then firstly do not connect your device before . Add the files to AP first and then you can connect your device into odin or that firmware you've download did not match .
And did you solve that problem guys?

Before a chance the rom, I rooted my cellphone by this way
[ androidxda. com/root-samsung-galaxy-grand-prime-sm-g530h ]
It worked!
As someone said here, I should need to unlock the bootloader, I looked for I solution and I find this one
[ techtudo. com.br/dicas-e-tutoriais/noticia/2014/07/como-destravar-o-bootloader-de-um-dispositivo-android.html ]
this site is in portuguese-Br
it did not work
so, I installed samsung kies, and odin 3.04. And also didn't worked.
Now, I installed CMW recovery
[ mediafire .com/download/w0gzfrq7xtvztdr/Galaxy+Grand+Prime+CWM+Recovery.zip ]
still the same
finally, I downloaded odin 3.10.6, and instal a rom from india. As I find here [ droidviews .com/install-android-5-0-2-lollipop-firmware-on-galaxy-grand-prime-sm-g530h/ ]
Before I was trying Russia's rom.
After all, I noticed, and I read here, that depends on firmware which I was intalling
Hello there, I flashed my S3 Neo with an unofficial ROM so I could see how good is Lolipop 5.0, but I didn't like it so much, so I wanted to revert back to my stock ROM which is Android 4.4.2. My question is, does the Baseband version matters? My phone baseband version is I9301IXXUANI2 but when I went to the Samsung Updates site where I could find my ROM, there was only I9301IXXUANI1 versions, no I9301IXXUANI2. If I try to use that version from the site, would my phone get bricked?
Sorry for my bad english.
no it doesn't matter !
at least from what i know !
i did installed different baseband version to my phone and nothing happened everything works fine !
just be sure its for ur phone which is i9301i !
good luck

Nothing is matter. Baseband or region has no impact. That's what i know. Go to sammobile.com and download any baseband version firmware and flash it through odin. Just remember one thing that firmware should be for your exact model.

You are welcome. And may be your service providers have some restrictions so try to download a firmware for your country or which is for your neighbour countries. And there will be no problems. I am not from Europe and i have tried firmwares of European countries.
Thanks all for your help, but is there any alternative of samsung-updates .com ? Their download links are the worse thing I ever seen in my life, I takes me 4h to download at a limited speed and the download failed once.

Hi all, just updated the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to CyanogenMod 5.1.1 ROM. Phone doesn't recognize SIM card (I live in UK) anymore, baseband is showing as "unknown" under the About Phone section. Please can someone let me know where I can download the Baseband/Modem firmware for SM-N910F?
Many thanks!
You could attempt to download the full stock firmware by either using 'Samfirm' or the website 'Sammobile'
Unbranded Note 4 CSC is BTU but it is currently still on Android 5.0.1 but the modem and bootloader will still work fine with Cyanogenmod ROMs.
Right, I did download the official Samsung firmware N910FXXU1BOC5 from a website, but when flashing with Odin 3.09 I was getting a error. So I ended up using the customized ROM which didn't seem to have the baseband/model inside. How could I extract the baseband from the official firmware in MD5 format?

Bootloader
Modem
Put your phone in download mode manually (Pull the battery out and put it back in after 10 seconds and then hold volume down + Home button and power on the device) Then connect it to your PC and run Odin as Admin and flash the bootloader and modem.
Make sure you uninstall Kies if you have it installed.

Hi mate,
I have a quick question with which I hope you can help (if you have the time of course ). There is a newer firmware version for UK, which is COK3 (and O2, which is what I have), and I'd like to update to this one, but the only way I know would be to update the phone entirely and then root it again and install whatever mod rom I'm using from there. However, this would be a painful lot of work. Do you know (or mind sharing) how to extract the baseband from an official md5 release so as to update this only or as well as the bootloader? Is there any way to put the entire firmware md5 file on Odin and tell the software to update just one thing?
I saw that you did just that above and I'm having some trouble with the phone connection being lost quite often, so it would be of great help.
Many thanks in advance for your help mate!
Cheers

Thanks for the quick response mate! You are the man! I still have a couple of questions though. Firstly, what's the difference between the cp and bl files in the link in your signature? I take it that bl stands for bootloader, but not sure of what cp stands for then. In any case, the most important bit I need/want is the baseband, and since I'm in the UK and my network carrier is O2, I believe the XXU1COK3 (as per Sammobile) would be my best bet, is that right? Will it make much of a difference with the XXU1COJ3 that I have installed right now? In any case, is the bl-cok3.tar file in your link the same XXI1COK3 baseband?
Secondly, that other post that you included is for a galaxy s3 and within that topic they link to a galaxy s4 topic, will those files and guidelines also work for our note 4?
Finally, I have TWRP recovery and within advanced backup I can individually backup the boot (which I imagine is the bootloader) and the modem (which I suppose is the baseband as such). Do you know if I could I install a new firmware through Odin and, backup the modem and boot, and then restore everything but those two things from an different rom backup? Have you ever tried?
Thank you for your time bro! I know that these might be a little bit of a newbie's questions but for more thar I search, I can't find anything close enough to answer what I'm asking.

In the bootloader and modem folders I have included the latest Odin, if you use that the 'CP' and 'BL' will make sense.
CP= Modem
BL=Bootloader
The steps should still work for the Note4.
I don't back-up and restore bootloaders or modems using TWRP.

Aah OK, that makes sense. But then the modem I am talking about is not in that list, is it? However, the bootloader is I think. Is there any chance you could extract the xxu1cok3 modem for the UK and O2 to add it to your list? ?? Pretty sure other people would appreciate it too, I know I would :good:

I don't see a point in doing that, it won't make a difference. The firmware does not have a 'COK3' modem. So I can't extract it if it doesn't exist. The O2U firmware had a bootloader of COK3, CSC of COJ1 and modem of COJ3.
If the modem isn't working well then you should flash a stock firmware for your region and apply the appropriate CSC.
