Hi. Is it possible to get a generic Micro-USB to HDMI adapter or Micro-USB to Component adapter to pump video out to my TV or Projector?
Has anyone tried this on a U8800-51 (Impulse 4g) running the Stock 2.2.2 Rom?
I would hate to spend $25 on something that someone else has already disproved.
Unfortunately, U8800 does not have the possibility to provide MHL from the USB output. While U8800 and U8800Pro have the components for analog TV out using 3.5mm jack, U8800-51 does not have the option because it is used for something called "Hearing Aid".
Thanks.

I didn't copy a link, but I had just searched "micro-usb to HDMI adapter" on Google Shopping.

Also, I have a video cable from an old camcorder that plugs into a 3.5mm headphone jack. Can an 'audio' signal be pumped out that an analog TV would interpret as video? Could software manage this?

On u8800 and u8800pro, it needs 3.5mm to RCA, but it needs functional software, which only exists in u8800pro for now.

Nope. OpenGL 2.0 is supported by the Tegra 3, right now you need to have a Snapdragon S4 Pro or the new Cortex A15 phones to take advantage of it .
Has anyone ever upgraded speakers, camera, Wifi chip or anything else. I have done this for years on my desktop pcs and laptops.
Can I do it on our phones?

Speakers should be possible but the rest would require software modification...
I recall seeing something awhile back where a user upgraded their phone's internal memory storage, but as for upgrading a camera or WiFi, I don't see it as being very feasbile. You're talking different pin-outs on the chips than what they'd be replacing, different power requirements, internal firmware for the existing device/hardware, etc.
my point is: better a new laptop that upgrade your
